Might do another run through or two of the game, but I can't commit to grinding for rare gear. Need something to show for that kind of time investment. Weird as it sounds, I feel like time wasted playing Dust is less wasteful than time wasted grinding other games for loot. Odd, right?

Not the game I'd hoped it would be. Great none the less and satisfies my love for Lovecraftian Cosmic Horror....but not on the level of Dark or Demon's Souls.
Just a few design quirks and lack of content that really turned me off at the end game portions.

Hey, nothing wrong with that.
But yeah I doubt any souls game will ever live up to Dark Souls for me. It's just such a phenomenal game. Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 2 don't even come close imo (Although they are still superb games)
Bloodborne looks like it could come very close though  at least for me. The pace of its combat makes me drool. I haven't wanted to play a game this badly since The Binding of Isaac Rebirth was about to release

I really gave the Ion Pistol a serious try tonight, I kinda liked it.
Not sure what to think of the three pistols... It seems each has their own uses and it's kinda hard to pick which one I feel like using.
I've been playing a mostly melee scout right now, and kinda thinking of giving up the knives in favor of another sidearm. However I do have uses for those lovely nova knives, mostly Heavy, Commando, or Proto Assault slicing and dicing.
What I really want to do is a one fit fits all situations, but I just can't seem to find it yet, so I have two Min Scout fits right now. One is Flaylock + Knives, the other is Flaylock + Bolt Pistol.
I've also been running a PLC alot more lately. My aim still kinda sucks, but it's getting better.
Wound up taking a pot shot at a sniper, at I think 200+ meters after I destroyed his DS, and saw a lovely +50 float up on my screen!
Next goal, getting a headshot on a sniper with the PLC!
I have yet to try out Bloodborne, how is it comparing to the other Souls games? |

Meh, I find the atmosphere in Dark Souls 1 (and bloodborne) to be better. I'm pretty sure I missed a significant portion of the game because of the stupid world tendency system. I also think the level design is lacking (Shrine of storms is pretty much singlehandedly preventing me from replaying the game). I just end up getting bored every time I try and pick it up again. And I don't have "first played" nostalgia bias either, since Demon's Souls was my first souls game. It just strikes me as being lackluster on every level. I probably owe it another playthrough though, since everyone and their mother seems to rate it as being one of the best souls games.

Walked to the end of the gantry where all the mercs were, calmly walked amongst them dropping REs, jumped over the edge...boom.
Not sure with EWAR changes you could do that today. I think I took a photo of the end-of-battle timeline:

Also Monk! Love the combat mechanics and "chaining" through masses of bads like a Dynasty Warrior :-) Some of those higher level skills look really cool; might have to spend a little more time with Diablo.

I have almost L5 Ion Pistol - I loved it at first, but now it doesn't seem so good. But that charged shot - that will OHK a lot of suits. It's just all or nothing unfortunately.
As for PLC headshots - I've used the PLC a lot and never had that. I wonder is it one of those weapons where headshots can't happen? |

Experimental Lab turns out BPOs too!? I thought BPOs these days were limited to AUR and strongboxes (or LP for APEX).

You can get headshots with the PLC, I've only ever gotten two of them, and only by accident/luck.
I want to get some headshots with skill!
New biggest pet peeve with the PLC and dropships though.
I'm shooting down a dropship, the dropship decides to run, all I need is one more hit, just one more hit. Where does my last shot go before the dropship goes around a corner?

I tried it with REs as well, was not successful.

Yeah if it's the map / socket whatever it's called that I think you mean, then it's great fun pinging MD rounds halfway through that room with a Minmando. It's that room with the objective with the bridge thing going over it right? The entrance underneath there can be shot through all the way to the side wall with an MD. And the pillars near the entrance means you can pop-and-shoot - one of my favourite techniques with the MD.
The travel time (like the PLC) means you can fire it then take cover before it's even landed. |

I tried deploying to an Ambush (as much as i hate it) last night since i was sick of having nothing to do most battles and spent 4minutes waiting till i gave up.
