I'd been meaning to invest in a commando for a while now and as of this morning I have Gallente Heavy dropsuits lv 3. I'm thinking of running a GalMando with cloak, GEK AR, AScR, and armor plates. Should be good for a laugh if I can manage the fittings.

Agreed. If they manage to smooth out the new player experience with these matchmaking and metalevel happenings on the roadmap then I might actually try to get my friends into Dust again. Prior to that I'm not likely to be successful.
As the devs continue to fix most of the core issues with the game, it becomes increasingly clear to me that the NPE is Dust's single greatest flaw. If we could transform the learning cliff into a learning curve then I would have no problem with recommending Dust to my friends.

Yes, but sometimes it feels like the background on an old 8 bit racing game. You never actually get closer to that landmark in the background no matter how long you drive.
I hope it gets there, but its been harder for me to play the game the past 6 months or so than it was during many pre 1.8 days.

Standard flux grenades have a good splash radius, are great at taking down vehicle and infantry shields, and have no downsides besides only damaging shields. They are also way to effective at doing both, offer little incentive for getting higher tiers, and there aren't any variants.
To fix that, there should be 3 kinds of flux grenades: packed (AV homing), regular, and sleek.

Yes, but not now, for a multitude of reasons. For starters, we've only just addressed the issues surrounding assaults and scouts, we need to give more times for the wounds to heal. Suggesting something which would likely be an overall buff to scouts right now would be terrible for PR and would only generate resistance. Update the OP of the thread with it if you wish, but I think we should make it clear that it isn't an urgent proposal just yet. Personally I think scouts are decently balanced as is and are in no need of immediate attention.
Second, Rattati has mentioned a few changes which may affect overall class balancing and warrant reexamining of the proposal. Most notably he seems to have toyed with the ideas of a mass:speed:jump height ratio and also has considered swapping logi and assault speeds (Source, although granted it was about a month ago).
It also gives us more time to polish the proposal. It's decent so far but I think we could stand to let it ruminate a little while the game develops.
If Rattati thinks scouts are in a bad spot he'll make it clear, and then I would have no problems with introducing the proposal, but as is I think we benefit from being patient.

Also, and this is mostly unrelated to the above, but I think we should encourage Rattati/the Dust team to do an AMA. Not for political reasons, for fun reasons. Some of the CPM would probably like to participate too. It's been a long time since we've had one (about two years) and I think now is a good time in the game's history to conduct one. It'd also be a nice way to get to know the non-Rattati Shanghai devs. I know the round table at Fanfest was kind of the same thing but it was very limited in scope.
What do you guys think?
