If there's one thing CCP got really right with Scouts, it is the MinScout's bonus to knives. There are few things in Dust more exhilarating than running around with knives and 300HP. Super-squishy NK Scouts may not meet competitive viability standards, but they're way more fun than the things which do.

Removing this archetype from the game would be a serious loss for Dust.

At this point it's an archtype that can be fullfilled by any scout and even some assaults, they just lose a little damage. And when you consider how much damage it does it's like losing a single pellet from a shotgun.

Watched Cap'n Musturd closely one match during the sidearm challenge. He'd toss a flux on approach then perforate his victim with a rapid fire shanks. Never raptored. Only slowed down to charge when he absolutely had to. I left the match thinking, this guy's more a "combat knifer" and I'm more an "opportunistic knifer". The MN Scout bonus might mean more to the former than the latter, but it definitely still matters. Shoot scout with yes. - Ripley Riley

Something like 1300 HP damage is the max damage from two charged blades on a MinScout. It's not enough to OHK heavy frames or sentinels. It's enough to OHK everything else. You miss you're usually dead. The damage bonus is huge on that amount of damage, and the difference between life and death for the wielder a lot of the time.

Mostly because my Dust gun game has significantly gone down since playing Destiny (aim assist so strong in that game) and knives just seem to click with me.
