Some changes definitely need to be made for the sake of competitive play. The Amarr logi bonus to uplinks is one, for example. Currently, the Amarr have a proto drop uplink that has a 65% spawn time reduction, getting you back on the battlefield in 3.5 seconds. With the new bonus, Amarr logis would put down uplinks that would put mercs back on the field in 2 seconds. It takes about that long for you to even pick a new spawning location in the first place.
What competitive team wouldn't spam uplinks even more on the battlefield.
Cal-logis will be spamming the same amout of equipment that will last longer, further contributing to lag. With the new heavy bonuses, I'd imagine seeing heavies that have incredible EHP (with a logo boosting it) and incredible dps (With high slots all full of damage mods). I'd also imagine that commandos would much rather an addition 10% to weapon damage than they would 66hp, and Min-assaults will be even more detrimental to TTK.
I don't think that these bonuses are bad in theory. I just think that this would be an excellent opportunity to scale a whole bunch of numbers back to both give some meaning to how I build my suit and also to stop this power creep we seem to be getting.

I do hope these changes will warrant a re-spec of Our dropsuit skills.
As far as I've been told from EVE players, Caldari is supposed to be best race for E-war and the scanning bonus goes to Galente...
But E-war is warp scrambling etc. its not scanning.
Actually E-War includes quite a bit. And every race has their own strengths, racial bonuses. Caldari get a bonus to ECM (Jamming). If you'd like to look at them, here are the 4 races Combat Recon Ships.

Just remember to have patience, and keep your magic crystal ball close by at all times. These numbers are not necessarily final.
On another note, the Gallente Heavy is looking pretty. That's what you said about the original stats of the ferroscale and reactive plates before they were released. Maybe he's not talking about stats and instead regarding the look of the new Gallente Heavy?

And I am actually not bias, as my Heavy used a BPO and has no points in Dropsuit Command, while I would likely skill Fox back into the suits he is skilled into now.
Actually, I think it requires refund of the Dropsuit Upgrades tree as well, especially for some logis. The Min logi who was skilled fully into uplinks, hives, scanners, & hacking now needs to skill into a different suit or to stay an effective Min Logi, into rep tools and injectors instead of current equipment and skills.

I really like the direction of the heavy and logi changes. I like how resistance bonuses are specific to the opposing faction's weapons, and how the commandos bonuses are to its racial weapons. I like how logis are now more support-centric. The assault bonuses are wrong. They should be geared towards their race's weapons in a similar way to the commando suits. The racial assault bonuses should be different than the commando's though. The existing Amarr assault bonus should be the template for the other racial assault bonuses.
I'm really pissed about how this stuff is being developed in a black box. If it got to this point on SISI then it had to have been in the works for a while. CCP: why the F*UCK were you not talking to the CPM about this months ago? Where were the dev threads posting these ideas and asking for feedback months ago like was done with FW 2.0, the vehicle changes, and the RR/CR?
As for sig tanking with the scan rez bonus issue, I think cloaks will help with this immensely. Cloaks will be a game-changer for the scout suit for sure.
TTK is still a major problem. Let's hope that it is addressed along with these changes.
I'm hoping we get the full scout suit lineup with the rest of these changes so we can have a full infantry respec (the last one ever), and we can move forward with balance tweaks from there.

*Logis:
*Logistics bonus: Good. Part of the OPness of logi suits came from the free complex armor repper they had. New bonus makes more sense.
*Racial bonus:
-Minmatar: Good, but wrong race. -Amarr: Insanely good for PC, almost OP with the current uplinks. (spawning back in 2 seconds?) -Caldari: Insanely good for PC, almost OP with the current nanohives. -Gallente: Gamebreaking and completely OP in both PC and pubs with the current scanners.
*Assault:
*Assault bonus: Meh. Useless for Lasers, SR, CR, SP. Maybe other weapons.
*Racial bonus:
-Minmatar: Lower TTK. Just great. Seriously CCP, just get rid of damage modifiers or nerf them. -Amarr: lolbonus. Got trolled by CCP compared to the other assaults. Almost useless. -Caldari: Really good bonus. Maybe too good. Not in the mood to make the numbers, but we probably will start seeing 1k+ hp assaults, or close. They probably will still die in 1 second... -Gallente: Same as caldari.
*Commando and Sentinel:
Still unsure.
I am still waiting for the suit stats, and I know that this is all subject to change. But if everything else remains the same, then I am afraid that this is indeed a power creep.
This will end looking like a Disgaea game: 10000hp suits, AR with 200 damage per bullet, repairing from 50 meters, scanning a fly from 200 meters, autospawning in 2 uplinks at the same time...
I know I am exaggerating a lot, but I just don't like this.

Scammers are less than regular people. So, you're more of a sub-human. "Better" is an EXTREMELY relative term, I have no need to compare to a scammer and this game hardly tracks everything that matters, regardless of whatever stat you are referencing. I, frankly, never noticed you until it was publicly pointed out how much you suck, lol. Enough attention for you, good day :P

The only reason i created a gallente main was because of the description. "Put a premium on life" I set up my whole logi fit based on this with an injector, hives, rep tool. Then i see 'scan bonus'... Minmatar are scavengers so i agree they should have bonuses to repping, but shouldn't that bonus be aimed at installation/vehicle reping? Since scavengers have to 'steal' to stay alive i thought the hack bonus was fine. Give gallente a triage bonus. There are 2 types of rep tools to even meet this requirement. Otherwise i wasted all that SP to put a "premium on life" even at the cost of my own,for nothing.

Actually the amarr assault with 1 complex repper will gain 8.75 armor per second (not 5.whatever), because the suit bonus stacks with the armor repair skill bonus. Source: I used to play amarr logi
Granted, I still think that's pretty underwhelming given how much damage is flying around the battlefield. Before damage of everything got so out of control I tried playing a passive rep fit amarr logi, which did around 30 armor per second repair...even back then it didn't help much. The best you could hope for would be dancing around cover and hoping to force the guy to reload, and then rush them. Regeneration speed just isn't valuable right now. Hopefully that changes, because more variables to consider would make fights and theorycrafting more interesting. |

I dislike the racial logi bonuses as I don't think that it should be tied to a particular item. What about when new equipment comes out? The shield bubble is authored by what race? And Webifiers? and all the other stuff that may come in the future. No, like other racials that have bonuses to particular kinds of weapons like the laser category so to should the logistics bonuses work that way.
I would prefer to have an equipment skill tree, similar to the weapons' branches that offer various bonuses and improvements, that would address each item.
The bonuses for the logistics should be more of either a prominent trait for the race in defense or general equipment efficiency in the equipment authored by that race. Right now Amarr has only drop uplinks - and i do truly hate them. But the min bonus to repair tool.... I may have to forsake my race for that. Empress forgive me.
But I still don't like it.

Those assault bonuses are a joke if they're standalone. The Amarr Assault bonus is currently one of the only genuinely interesting and logical bonuses in the game, and the only way to make the semi-auto Scrambler useful in a busy fight short of exploits. ROF buff just makes already ridiculous automatic weapons more useful, only rewarding turbo controller cheats with semi-auto.
Also, plate buff for Gallente, repper buff for Amarr? Why do these two races continually have their bonuses and implied tank styles switched in this game? Like 25% better repping makes any kind of sense for a suit that has 3 lows at most anyway. Really, no amount of rep bonus is going to make a difference when you can't afford to run more than one.
Why aren't these tank bonuses being added on top of more legit assault bonuses? Every race should have separate tank and gank bonuses across their suit complement, with racial role bonuses offering further specialization. |

Not a hater. Since 1.7, I've been having the time of my life due to my corp/alliance but out of boredom, I opened steam and started playing other games and have to say, my willingness to open dust over these games is getting smaller and smaller, but then again, I'm rather ADD about my games so maybe I just need a different game style fix for a while.
If we get a respec because incoming changes completely alter paths (ie, the changes talked about today are in fact true), I think I'll just not spend the sp, close the game and revisit when ALL content is available and a meaningful sync between Eve and dust exists. There are already rumors of other pieces out there and quite honestly, I'm tired of the reclarification/categorization/overhaul of things. In my line of work, this is scope creep, LARGE scope creep, or project phases that could never have legitimately left beta.
I was a fan and lastly longer than any of my local friends but these level of changes are getting hard to really care to stick with.
