Amarr should get the +5% to armor plates and Gallente should get the +5% to armor reps so the bonuses are in line with the EVE lore.
I'm not complaining about +5% to armor reps though, it just doesn't line up with EVE. Agreed.

Also agreed. for the way the races have always worked in EVE.
Amarr has had the armor amount bonus and Gallente the repair amount bonus.

The Amarr are the most forceful of the races on the battlefield. It makes complete sense lore wise and tactically because as they stomp across the field with their comrades, they can lay uplinks down with which they can spawn in on in less than 5 seconds, making them a continuous force to be reckon with.
The Gallente Logi's bonus fits with their lore and would work well with their tactics seeing as how we're reliant on such technologies(You ever seen a Surveyor scanning? They ignore everything that's not on the scanner due to being reliant on it).

Amarr Assault: +5% to repair rate of armor repair modules per level. Stats you were all slow on pulling from Sisi! I'm disappointed in all of you.
How is exactly will a RoF bonus impact something like a Scrambler or a Laser Rifle? Make them overheat faster?
I dunno about the armor rep bonus either (It's not horrible.. but...), I'd think the Amarr would be more of a maximum-tank thing, they already have fewer slots to fit. Also, there seems to be a lack of parity there.
Amarr = better repair (but worse and with fewer slots than a current logi) Gallente/Caldari = Beefier tank - extenders and plates Minmatar= Bonus to damage mods? Is this.. additive? Multiplied? This seems like a death-suit.

Thanks for removing the thing that made me spec into the Minlogi in the first place, sweet, well played. And yes, you said the bonuses were temporary, but could you have chosen anything LESS suited for the Minmatar logi? I mean, seriously? If they switched the Minmatar and Gallente Logi bonuses, people might be happier. Minmatar are better for flanking and what is better for flanking than a good Active Scanner? Gallente of course are the Brick Armor tanks, so would the Rep Tool bonus not make sense for them? I'm not understanding the issue against the Minmatar Logistics bonus. I understand the anger of being switch from Hacker to Healer but besides that there isn't much to complain about. You realise how much that would help a lot of repair logis on the field? Now with the Gallente Bonus I can only hope to assume the are making changes to the current Active scanner in conjunction with the new Gal. Logistics bonus. Most demolition experts go for the Minmatar Logi suit for its speed. There is nothing wrong with the Rep bonus for a Logi-Bro, but the Gallente Logi has long been considered the iconic Logi-Bro suit, while the Minmatar Logi, although still very good for Logi-Bro, has always been the suit of choice of Combat Engineers and Demolitions Experts.

Could not agree more. Removing the hacking bonus also forces the logi roll to only become support/medic only. The hacker bonus meant I could run an Infiltrator fit off the minlogi, which is the whole reason I speced into the minlogi suit. I want all my sp back that I put into my proto minlogi suit. You ask "why these bonuses"? Not because of how people currently play the game and what they use each suit for, but very obviously each race's bonus favours their own equipment and weapons, and in the case of the heavies, has stronger defense against their enemies weapons. Lore?

Current bonuses are probably going to standard suits. From a balance perspective it makes perfect sense to place the repair tool bonus on the minmatar besides racial terms. I'm thinking of the focused core repair. With these stats maxed you are looking at 214 hp/s at 15m range. That is awesome! In order to take out this uber mode armor tanker you have to take out his more squishy companion. Yes I am a lvl 5 minmatar logistics and I approve of this.

...what? WHAT!?
This means that Gal Assault 5 will make complex plates give 182hp [135 x (1.1 [armor skill lvl 5] + 1.25 [assault skill lvl 5]) = 182.25]
Amarr Assault gets 5.5hp (complex repper w/ lvl repper skill bonus [10%]) every .75 secs (what I'm guessing the +25% rate of repair will give), or a whopping 7.3hp/s. That's awfully crummy.

Erm, yes you should. It's not our (the players) fault that ccp didn't release a finished product in the form of this game, that constantly needs retconning and adjustments to game mechanics.
If they change something in regards to a skill that I've already spent skillpoints on then I should get a respec of those skillpoints because it's not reasonable to expect me to predict that ccp game developers whimsically decides to change what a particular skill does in the game.
I spent my points on the skills as they were written, thus it's only fair that I get the opportunity to spend them on something else whenever ccp decides to re-write what a skill does.
Your reasoning would only further alienate players from this game. |
