(Ferroscale and reactive plates) What can we, the community, do to prevent this from happening again? (sidenote: fitting costs on Ferro and reactive still aren't worth it) Hand written letters to CCP Shanghai asking them to please not implement these things?
As stated in a previous post, CCP Shanghai was susceptible to vehicle and new rifle changes - even going so far as to bring back the Assault Dropships. As far as the rifles, they made the scalpel change a lot of us were looking for to the Rail Rifle, which originally had a shorter charge-up time and higher damage per round.
All that's required is patience and a calm demeanor. You're less likely to convince them to change anything if you blow up out of frustration and start spewing obscenities which can be misconstrued as hyperbole, something a lot of the Dust 514 community (including myself) are guilty of.
With CCP Rouge as Executive Producer, we've noticed a lot more progress and a lot less bullshit, I'd say.

More damage, faster reloads, weapon resistances, explosive resistances.... Keep this up and in another year we are going to end with suits with over 2k ehp, that will still die in 1 second against weapons with a +25-40% damage (modules+bonus+proficiency). New players are going to get so destroyed. Oh wait, they are destroyed right now. Now that I think about it, they probably wont notice any difference between dying in 0.5 seconds or 0.25.
Considering that the Sentinel bonus(es) aren't per level and seem to be static (subject to change) it might be privy for new players start out with the Sentinel and work their way outward from there. Looks like a pretty nice selection for a new player, actually, with more base HP and less focus on fitting selection.

Fair play sir, you have my apologies. and I humbly beg forgiveness Still doesn't explain the Republic's military thinking (i.e CCP's) '"Logi, we need you now, my tiny insignificant armour on my mostly shield duel tank needs repping" "..I didn't need to rush, this thing has enough range to heal you across the map, and still miss" Why couldn't it be explosives??

Infantry gear has always been on the Eve market with associated prices but aren't available for purchase by Eve players. They're stocked in the stations that Dusters are (locked) in so that there's a never ending supply by the NPC providers.

It's not like there was already a rise in Gallente Logi's not so long back because of the way they could be fit either right?
Consider it from a future stand-point. They have intentions to release racial parity and balance for Scouts, so I'd imagine they're going to do a lot to make sure that they're balanced out with the help of the CPM to accomodate for these changes.

The hilarity of it is that they're benefiting from the PG/CPU bonus that all Logis now get xD
It's going to be even more hilarious with the faction scanners.

Protected Void wrote:low genius wrote:gallente will probably be able to run a basic scanner instead of an advanced scanner to save power grid. Indeed. At proto suit level, they'll actually get a better scan precision with a basic scanner than they have now with an advanced. Which means that they'll have better scanners than the current advanced at almost no cost, considering the general equipment fitting cost reduction bonus of logi suits. Edit: Bah, Aeon beat me to it.
Bear in mind that a Prototype Active Scanner equipped on a Gallente Logi will only go as low as 21db. A Scout can still, with enough effort and skill, beat this as there are some fits designed to beat the Focused Active Scanner which has a precision of 16db (albeit this one will be impossible to avoid).
We aren't able to see CPU/PG changes, however, so bear in mind that they could have increased these resource costs to make the Gallente Logi more of a specialized role in this field.

Certainly - it's not impossible for a scout to avoid the proto scanner, although I'd argue it would entail an unfairly high cost to do so. Even with the high SP cost a scout suit and dampening maxed out, you need to use 2 of a proto scout's 5 slots to evade one piece of equipment which is a lot less SP intensive and doesn't inhibit the rest of the logi's fit to a comparable extent at all. That's bad enough for a Gallente scout, but absolute murder for the low slot-lacking Minmatar scout.
Understand that Scout re-balancing isn't taking place yet and I'd imagine they're wanting to see how these changes iron out before they touch them. Just as well, they're probably wanting to roll out racial parity/pilot suits for them as well.

I'm referring to CCP Remnant's Q/A session where he stated this:
"and have War Barge-fired EMP strikes that destroy all equipment over a very large area."
The EMP Orbital Strikes are incredibly effective and were the staple for ANONYMOUS' victories for many months.

Out of the suit skill bonuses, blasters were mentioned three times and railguns only once. Believe there is a typo here.

But God forbid they need another million because they want to change suits. Sorry, but you are wrong. What is on SiSi precludes a significant and wide spread enough change that CCP really has no choice but to offer a respec. Punishing players because CCP hasn't finished huge, basic chucks of the game is nothing but bad customer service. I disagree. A minor 5-10% bonus on this or that per level, is the sort of thing that changes with EVE frequently, and EVE doesn't get a respec every time their ship got re-tiered. If so, we'd have gotten five respecs in the last two years. These sorts of changes will ALWAYS happen in an MMO, because balance and redesign will ALWAYS happen. The Minmatar Logistics suit, and Amarr Heavy suit are both still functional suits, that have been adjusted due to new content. This happens often, and will continue to happen in perpetuity, even after you consider the game "complete". Note the massive ship rebalancing project EVE is undertaking, that offers no respecs. People can continue to use the suits they have skills for, and invest new skill points in new suits if they're so inclined to branch out. Respec is one of the things powering Fit Of The Month behavior, it's time to kill it.
Right but the changes that occur in eve usually affect the bonuses they already have. It'd be like going to a ship and completely changing it's intended play-style; like turning an EWAR ship into a Logistics ship (which is technically what they did with the Minmatar Logistics). Whenever you take an item in a game and change it's polarity to a completely different element or playstyle, you're directly infringing on the player's choice of running that suit in the first place. This isn't just a slight number change it's an entirely specialization re-focus.
A full respect might not be necessary but an SP refund on select skills would do CCP justice with the community, regardless of FotM arguments.

Technically, that's how Gallente combat philosophy works. The point of contention is with the fact that in Dust they rely on buffer (high HP) tanking instead of active (repair rate) tanking, as in Eve. So they'll be very slow, high damage/high HP pseudo-sentinels. In a way.
But I have a feeling the Gallente Commando is going to faceroll.

According to EVE lore and ship bonuses, Amarr armor tank is focused on large amounts of EHP, while Gallente tank is focused on armor repairs. With respect to that, assault bonuses should be inverted.
Just curious, why is this just now catching on in the Dust 514 community?
As far as Dust 514 goes, gallente have always had more armor HP (base) and Amarr Logi's currently have their bonuses centralized around armor repairers.
What gives?

What gives? The future Assault gk.0 could have 939 Armor points 210 + [ ( 135 + 35% ) -+ 4 ] On the contrary the Assault ak.0 would get 726,75 Armor points: 180 + [ ( 135 + 35% ) -+ 3 ] > 200 HP difference
Not what I was talking about, but thanks for the random stats, lol.

I've actually been trying to get a hold of some of the Amarr RPers to squad up in Amarr FW. Hit me up sometime, yeah?

I didn't read the rest of it because it was rather difficult but I'd like to inform you that I have been in a squad with Nova Knife in the past week and have personally been in a handful of matches with Jenza Aranda. Making baseless, blind assumptions isn't a good way to go. If you want to play Dust 514 with any of the CPM members, hit them up on Skype - I'm sure they'd be more than happy to take you for a few pub/faction warfare runs

Mordecai Sanguine wrote:Why CCP HATES Amarians ? Amarr Assault Skill: Assault Suit Bonus: 2% to light weapon RoF per level. Useless for scrambler and makes you overheat even faster with Laser rifles which is almost useless in the hand of assaults. Amarr Assault Bonus: 5% to repair rate of armor repair modules per level. Best Joke EVER we have less slots and they want us to worth 90/140 hp while we are supposed to tank and we are already underdogs. Amarr Commando Skill: Okay nice. I admit it. Commando Suit Bonus: 5% reduction to reload speed of light weapons per level. Amarr Commando Bonus: +2% damage to laser light weapons per level Amarr Logistics Skill: And where is the idea of the combt engineer ? Amarr Logistics was ALREADY the worse. Less Hp less everything JUST to have a secondary weapons that takes more pg/cpu while you have less.... Read your own description CCP Amarr Logi is supposed to be the frontline support not the "i set the spawn and go hide i follow you like a dog use a uplink and then follow you again and again" Logistics Suit Bonus: 5% reduction to PG/CPU cost of equipment per level. Amarr Logistics Bonus: 10% reduction to drop uplink spawn time and +2 to max. spawn count per level. Amarr Sentinel Skill: Nice finally. Sentinel Suit Bonus: 5% resistance to blast damage per level Amarr Sentinel Bonus: 3% armor resistance to projectile weapons, 2% shield resistance to hybrid - blaster weapons. Amarr Scout Skill: Need to watch it but...give bonus on something that is not even out.... Scout Suit Bonus: 10% bonus to PG/CPU cost of cloak field per level. Amarr Scout Bonus: 5% reduction to cloak field cooldown per level. [/quote]
Amarr Assaults aren't the underdogs, I feel. Minmatar Assaults maybe but an Amarr Assault is a very offensive based contender who can decimate in a hurry while time-to-kill is so low and scramblers are so high damage. I'd recommend considering the higher rate of fire again as the only weapon it really affects is the Scrambler Rifle itself, which already has a pretty ridiculous rate of fire (20-25 rounds before overheating with the fire rate of pre-nerf Tac ARs). Laser Rifle and Assault Scrambler can only benefit from it.
I think there's a big misconception about the Amarr Logi changes that people are so focused on their new bonus(es) that they're forgetting that, in the end, it can still fit other equipment. It's not restricted to -just- drop uplinks, it just gets a bonus to them. Even still, if you're placing drop uplinks and thne just running to hide you should probably use a Scout. Amarr Logi, having a sidearm and generally more HP, was designed to complement frontline warfare and be a hardy defensive alternative. Put the drop uplink down and then defend it. Otherwise I would recommend using a Scout.

I am literally giddy with joy over this pistol. I'm salivating at the very thought of it! I'm a little sad that my Gallente Assault will no longer have a hybrid weapon CPU/PG reduction but with the increased armor we might be getting I'd have around the same amount of health as I do now if I dumped a plate.
Lol, yanno - I thought the Plasma Cannon was going to be awesome when I first heard about it.

Beck Weathers wrote:The Ion Pistol, for when you really want to charge shot someone with a Scambler rifle but not all the time. :D
More along the lines of: Ion Pistol, for when you really want to kill that guy but the base damage per round is far too low and the charge-up is likely to get you killed when you can't do anything from it over-heating from the single round you fired.

I would like to hope we will get a respec consitering how much all the suits changed. I don't want to waste my sp but if u do plan to respec suits I will spend it on a proto scout suit now as long as I am not stuck with it when the rest of them come out. On another note I like the way most of the suits look. Sould balance the game out a lot.
Considering how ambitious they are with releasing eight new suits, three new weapons a complete balance overhaul on the dropsuits and a new map SI... I'd say Fanfest 2014 (april/may) would be more realistic
