Not because it's new items in the game but because CCP is adding suits in the game that should have been there from the start and on top of that changing bonuses which in turn changes their specialisation. Which the later is not enough to constitute for a respec on its own but on top of new suits it definitely would.
It's like the vehicle changes EXCEPT they aren't taking anything away....besides my drive of going to Minmatar Logistics.
P.S. I'm in no way a person that likes giving out respecs, often telling players to HTFU with their hasty, ill thought out decisions and FoTM chasers but this legitimately calls for a respecialisation. That sums up my thoughts on the Respec as well. This warrants a refund of all skill points in the Dropsuit Command skill tree. And I am actually not bias, as my Heavy used a BPO and has no points in Dropsuit Command, while I would likely skill Fox back into the suits he is skilled into now. Actually, I think it requires refund of the Dropsuit Upgrades tree as well, especially for some logis. The Min logi who was skilled fully into uplinks, hives, scanners, & hacking now needs to skill into a different suit or to stay an effective Min Logi, into rep tools and injectors instead of current equipment and skills. Yes refund for everybody

Vell0cet wrote:I really like the direction of the heavy and logi changes. I like how resistance bonuses are specific to the opposing faction's weapons, and how the commandos bonuses are to its racial weapons. I like how logis are now more support-centric. The assault bonuses are wrong. They should be geared towards their race's weapons in a similar way to the commando suits. The racial assault bonuses should be different than the commando's though. The existing Amarr assault bonus should be the template for the other racial assault bonuses.
I'm really pissed about how this stuff is being developed in a black box. If it got to this point on SISI then it had to have been in the works for a while. CCP: why the F*UCK were you not talking to the CPM about this months ago? Where were the dev threads posting these ideas and asking for feedback months ago like was done with FW 2.0, the vehicle changes, and the RR/CR?
As for sig tanking with the scan rez bonus issue, I think cloaks will help with this immensely. Cloaks will be a game-changer for the scout suit for sure.
TTK is still a major problem. Let's hope that it is addressed along with these changes.
I'm hoping we get the full scout suit lineup with the rest of these changes so we can have a full infantry respec (the last one ever), and we can move forward with balance tweaks from there. The caldari heavy will die faster than the amarr heavy to the combat rifle......and the rail rifle, it should have been a global damage reduction.

Considering that this patch won't be coming out for a 30-45 days, that is 1 mill plus right there.
Also players who waited before blowing sp should be rewarded for their patience vs the blitz Bettys short term sp spending practices.
My $.02, and I'm already prepared for the friendly responses 2 months is way to long

My $.02, and I'm already prepared for the friendly responses 2 months is way to long To get 2 mill, that is like 2 months of not playing (or bare minimal playing), If you are playing then you can get that within a month easy, before the patch drops it will take 3 mil because caldari heavy frame but proto caldari heavy here i come!

Thus begins the era of armor tanking monsters while the caldari heavy gets pwnd by CR and RR (not by ar because resistance)

Yes, but we aren't made to take much damage. I already go all Shield extenders, which are destroyed almost instantly due to the low TTK everyone has. They also took away our 5HP/s at level 5 didn't they? Jesus we need to waste a slot on a repair module now. Yes I could dual tank, but this is the wrong race to be doing that, not as effective as the other races. And you can forget Dampners now, the better corps will all have at least 1 Gallente Logi using that perk, that is way too good.
CCP wrote:We also tripled the effectiveness of Profile Dampeners, We hope to see Dampened Players on the Field! /hope

Joeboa wrote:Jooki Chewaka wrote:Marlin Kirby wrote:Jooki Chewaka wrote:logistics wont repair themselves anymore? Nope, which means less logi assault suits. Then ill be able to repair myself with the repair tool, will i? They have more slots, but it doesn't make them better. The base stats of the assault compensate for the missing slots, similar to why the assault doesn't make a good heavy just because it has more slots than a heavy. If you use those logi slots to make the logi faster then the assault will have more HP by far. If you fit a logi to have more HP then the assault will be a hell of a lot faster, and so on. The assault is overall better and has a sidearm. I think the 5hp/sec was the main reason. Although it really started with the Cal logi back in the days when shields were overpowered. Having slightly more hp is rendered useless if the other thing has more slots to get higher hp

Getting a bonus against "splash damage" on the other hand could be even more useful. That would expand the definition to splash damage from all grenades, forge guns, rail turrets, plasma cannons, etc. On the flip side, a direct hit would still score 100% damage for all weapons, including explosives. This would be my preference because it helps us resist all sorts of area-denial attacks but still keeps us wary of the direct damage caused by these weapons.
It's splash damage. I'll change the text description as it seems to have caused more confusion than I'd have expected. Does that include, or exclude, damage from remote explosives? There isnt really a "direct hit" with them. Nor is there one with non-fused grenades. Well, I suppose there COULD be a direct hit... if you start allowing RE's to be sticky on heavy suits. It would seem to be a popular request... "tag you're it!" It's still considered as splash damage. So warbarge strikes are splash too?
