So I am writing a guide to all the Gallente things ever. It has a scout section.
Would anyone like to contribute nuggets of wisdom targeted at brand new players regarding the Galscout?

I don't think n(oo)b has really seen me throw grenades, so I wouldn't listen to him XD Honestly though, I've always left the grenade slot till very last when making a fit, so I never had room for em except on pc suits and that was always flux grenades for the uplinks.

One complex persicion allows you to see a large amount of scout's, including cloaked scout's.
Dual tanking is not sin .
One complex damp is 99% of the time the most you will ever need.
Ferroscale plates are your friend.
Knives are still very useable on the gal.
It's not a sin to run a scanner to give you an edge.
You dont need a cloak to be a scout.
The advance gal is niiiiice with alot of room to fit how you like.
Breach pistol is a great scout weapon
Scouts are not the best sniper suit.
Medic scout's can get you alot of point's.
Run when they spot you.

Would anyone like to contribute nuggets of wisdom targeted at brand new players regarding the Galscout? Hands down the best scout in the game. With the majority of ewar/biotic modules being low slot & the fact that dampening trumps precision, gal scout is the king of scouts.
This is coming from a die-hard caldari who ran gal scouts out of necessity until racial parity. Just now skilling back into it.
Have you considered a career in costumed aggression?

Even if this is true, it isn't particularly helpful to a newbie who has already decided they are speccing Gal.

1. Buy the merc pack! The BPOs alone are worth it. Run the dragonfly scout, toxin smg and either shotgun or nova knives.
2. Experiment with modules and equipment to find what works for you, but don't worry about trying to run cloak yet. Instead, plan on taking the scenic route around the backs of your enemy. Shiny purple cloak really isn't that "sneaky" anyway, and learning the flanking routes is good practice for down the road when you can actually fit it.
3. Resist the urge to rush your opponent. Dust isn't CoD, and a shotgun from behind doesn't guarantee you a gib. Take your time. Assess the environment. Plan your escape route. Hold your attack until your opponent is at his greatest disadvantage (alone and distracted, wounded or reloading). |

2 so much. Once they can run without the cloak they will be that much better if they ever do use the cloak with those routes.
