It was closed about a year ago, when it looked like CCP was completely ignoring the community, with no further additions since.

They're glitched. You can work around and make them custom fits.
Last I heard, there was a few guys running around in Amarr FW with fully tanked Amarr Assaults with cloaks.
Yeah. That'll be fixed by downtime. Gamebreaking.
Also: To those saying the suits are P2W
Realize this: Those fits might as well not be proto. Since they have only basic modules, they are a waste of a proto suit. I can literally fit an ADV suit better by using a mix of enhanced and complex mods.
They do however, look badass and are decent fits for free. I will be acquiring many for playing around in FW, and because I have the LP and ISK to spend. They will really help out new players who grind out FW, as they can run FW fits for free, and use all the LP to get some cheap proto.
THAT is where the real money in those suits are. You can easily grind FW and gain easy proto gear to use in PC or pubs.

He'd need to be at 41dB to catch the next Scout in the progression. Then again, I'm not a gambling man :-)
In light of Rattati's most recent comments, revising my bet as follows:
Scan Range Assaults buffed to 18m (max range 80m) Logi buffed to 18m (max range 80m)
Scan Precision Logi buffed to 42 dB (max precision 20dB)
Scan Profile Assault buffed to 45 dB (max profile 18dB) |

Heh. What's funny is I was contemplating spending some AUR for some BPO gear just have so "go-to" scout stuff to use and then those APEX suits come out... from what everyone is saying they are totally not worth the money and everyone should go back to their houses and make their own. I was just hoping to make some effective, but "free" suits. |

And when I do, it will be with ISK and LP, and not that amount of aur.
If it is close enough to what I run, then good. If it is not dampened, it won't be worth it regardless.
Quaffe I can at least dampen and customize to make cheap fits with.
In fact, today I got on and made a max dampen fit (outside of Gal Logi focused) with one. Wasn't much room after throwing on a proto cloak and knives. Runs around 200 HP.
Knifing is really hard with these nerfs. I may even have to go back to ZNs to fit something other than a basic ScP which just isn't doing the job outside of 2.5 m the way I need it to.

I'd be interested in picking up one or two of these fits. Assaults look pretty solid, scouts aren't too shabby, sentinels are sentinels, but those Commando suits? Good lord. Who in their right mind fits a sniper rifle and swarm launcher? Or a Mass Driver and Swarm Launcher? Breach AR+Plc is meh at best. The only half decnet one is Amarr, and I reckon the only reason they got off as well as they did was because that's all they've got.

Starter fits are free. If all those suits just have std gear, they really aren't THAT much better than the starter fits.

Things were super unbalanced.
ARs were the weapon of choice for 75% of the players or more.
Scouts number in the hundreds, and you were surprised when you saw another one in game.
Knife duels were a rare treat. I had less than 5 before the Shinobi Event made scouts and knifers a little more popular.
There are certainly issues now that we didn't have then, but the game is by and large better now.

Oddly with more people running scouts it means less Knife fights.
Mind you back then the handful of scouts pretty much all knew who each other were, you could spot a name in the roster and you knew you could get a knife fight in if you found each other. And you knew if you saw Appia she would shoot you in the face GǪ or drop an OB on youGǪ

So at least I can say I've earned all my ISK in pubs running cheap fits, got up to 120mil at FF, since then stopped caring and have been intentionally whittling it down, giving it away, running proto just to waste it. Currently down to 70mil.
If they keep the silence on Legion or whatever I might just go ahead and Biomass when the ISK runs out. i had spent a billion ISK before district locking was profitable, trading DUST ISK for EVE ISK, then made another billion and spent it the same way. I've given away hundreds of millions to scouts, friends, corp mates, corp donations, people in my squad while drunk, people i paid to run full proto in FW matches. What i have now is all from pub matches, earned while running prototype gear because i always went ISK positive even i run pubs.
Wish i could have seen stats for lifetime ISK acquired, lifetime ISK earned, and Lifetime ISK spent.
