Oh don't get me wrong - I go broke running ADV, I won't be a 'protostomper'. I wasn't here for the PC isk faucet, so I doubt I'll ever get rich enough for that. And my gun game sucks.
I mainly want the racial bonuses (NK, Hack speed and it'd be nice to get the reduced cloak fitting for the rare occasion when I play ambush and run cloak/shotgun). Scout level 3 and Engingeering level 3... feelsbadman.jpg

I forgot about the cloak fitting bonus, thats actually helpful as I have started fitting cloak and it works pretty well when guarding objectives. I only spent the 1.5mil SP into minja V last week once I knew CCP was buffing and not breaking NKs. Still wish I could move my SP from Cal scout to Amarr scout. Bastard CCP and changing my role.

I do kinda feel for the Cal Scouts that skilled into it just for that, but on the other hand it's nice to know that with limited high slots, the Golden Boy can only see so much. I like that most ak.0 scouts I've seen have had low armor, suggesting their loading RAs and Damps instead of brick tanking like I expected. Still teaching myself to charge the blades for Medium frame kills... got too used to uncharged slashes putting mediums down.

I'm glad there's a mix of different SP pools here. Cassappia has great advice.. if you have 50mil SP. So her advice for n00bs is best heeded by them to see what direction they are headed, and if that is really where they want to go. Then you have dudes like Jace with a more reasonable approach for a n00b because they are still in the thick of the SP sink.
I'll say this about Jace- one match he only had one kill. But he killed a thale sniper. For minjas it's about quality, nay quantity

Based on number of high slots (in which to put damage mods), at what tier does the Calmando have a higher alpha strike with the Charge SR than a suit without a rail rifle damage bonus running 3 damage mods?
For that matter, how many highs do the three tiers of Calmando get?

lol I remember that kill. iirc it was ak.0 Sentinel in the redline, and then he brought an Incubus with MT missile launcher and spent the next 5 minutes looking for me (I spent that time ducking him and shooting at his ADS to keep him interested until he finally killed me right before the end of the game)

Progression is 2/0, 2/1, 3/1 for Calmando and +2% damage per level. On the C-I you can fit 2 complex damage mods and a charge sniper rifle (at the cost of no secondary weapon and really bad EQ)
What it really has, though, is a very high Shield HP value which gives you a whole lot of leeway when other snipers are trying to shoot you.

At C-I, is the two damage mods and 2%/4% racial better than 3x damage mods and no racial?
At C/1-series, is the 2 mods and 6%/8% better?
At ck.0 I should assume 3x mods plus the 10% must obviously be better... but is it worth it to take the SP away from saving for mk.0 scout for the sake of getting a C/1-Series commando, or should I go ahead and finish out what I've been grinding and worry about getting the ck.0 Commando afterward?
Because I snipe almost as much as I knife - especially when I'm low on ISK.
