A position as CPM would be excellent proving ground. Failure may hit too close too home for him to allow it to happen. Besides, he is only one person on the board, he can be kept in check. And just because a merc doesn't have expertise doesn't mean they should not be listened to either; meaningful information can come from anywhere and anyone; expertise is not a pre-requisite. The CPM need to listen and lean on the community regardless of whether, for example, a "scout" is "missing" from the CPM. Just because (again, example) there is a scout on the CPM doesn't mean they don't listen to EVERYONE ELSE :D I've today decided I might actually give a **** and read all the candidates' material and pick one (or however many I get to pick) but that reading is not likely something I will start today. As for Bamm - really liked the guy but I never see him any more. My last impressions not long after The Rouge Wedding lowered my opinion of him much as I hate to say it - too much vitriol and opinion swings ("DUST is dead, long live DUST" followed by "jeez CCP you're [something negative]", so it would take something spectacular for him to be in my thoughts when there is so much to choose from with those that still play.
