That's decent, but then you get to all the pseudo-realtime stuff like in some Final Fantasy games and it starts getting fuzzy again. That and realtime RPG covers anything from Borderlands to Deus Ex. Still probably better than my terms though

Any ideas So for you FF VII is meh, but Pokemon is what's good? I bet you think the newest TMNT movie was better than the original. Soulless bastard. I don't think I've ever watched either Checkmate! That's your loss for not seeing the original TMNT, not mine.
Though I refuse to watch the reboot based on principle.
The new cartoon series however is very good.

To define it more fully, I believe you are saying that it was that "your rank on a map was soley based on how fast you could achieve the objective" But.. thats not how I remember it. I thougth you had to get secondary objectives as well, to get full points on a map Maybe only in the later levels
Lets just say I'm a completionist... so I always killed every last bugger on the map and i kept getting **** ranks on each mission. Finally i finished one really fast by accident and got the best score. The ranking was all about speed, not finesse, or kills. The best thing to do was race forward with a scout (can't remember the term they used) and get the win.
Personally, I still killed most of the bastards in my way and got mid level scores :)
Other than that, it was a cool game. Funny thing too was i didn't realize that the stories you purchased showed up in your journal back a ways. So I kept buying them for no reason wondering where they heck they went and didnt' accidentally flip back a page to just before the end.

I'm kind of psyched about the powercore idea and tiercide. I think it could really improve the game and maybe even get rid of some lag.

A few years back at the behest of a friend I tried to play Final Fantasy 13. After TWENTY HOURS of playing, the game was still running me through the same endless hallway. Couple that with the truly braindead writing and intolerable characters and it's a wonder I managed to even make it that far. That game was one of the final nails in the coffin of my dislike of JRPGs.
FFXIII was the first FF game I ever played actually.
I hated it. So much. I finished it because I like completing things, and I ended the story more confused than I started.
Combat was bad. Characters were bad. Plot was bad. Controls were bad.
Everything was bad.
Then I played FFI, which further solidified my belief that good gameplay transcends graphics. I had far more fun with that game than I EVER did with FFXIII.

FFXIII was the first game I put down and didn't finish. I even made it to the boss and gave up cause it was such BS and annoying as ****. Try FF2, that might have been my favorite ever.

Ff 7,8,9,10 are all very solid games aswell. 13 was a mistake. Dai has alot of setup to the story. Not a tutorial, its abit of slog but after 4 hours of so it come suddenly together and makes it that more enjoyable. Think of it in the sense of the first book in a trilogy giving you back ground and such.

Day 28 - Breaking Apathy with PC
Extract:
I got into an 0.H PC vs The Last H0pe, and it was pretty fun, I guess. I was just defending the bridge all match, so there wasn't much for me to do. Consequently, I came 11th place, but I did go 7/2. My first death was when I stabbed a Min Assault. Both charged swipes connected, yet he somehow still lived. Jumping above me, he blew me to smithereens with an Officer Mass Driver. My second death was from an OB. Even though we lost by a hair, I still performed well in the job that I was assigned to do. We held the bridge for pretty much the entire game. I even killed AddictPunk once.

Messing around with the Hawk scout now. I swapped out the scanner for Nanohives, the range amp for a militia cardiac regulator, and now the high slots are all shield extenders (basic and militia)
I'm kinda digging it.
Use the Bolt Pistol to soften up targets, and finish them off with the RR. Or if it's a long enough range, just shoot 'em with the RR.
I am really liking the modified APEX suits right now. I can make a slight alteration and bam! It becomes a suit that is much more fun for me to run.
