Despite the depth of the challenge for the Development Team, i agree, these features would add so much richness and depth to the gameplay experience.
It is a very exciting prospect to have a continuous flow of new content into the universe at such a small scale(weather effects, planetary system interactions e.I: moon phases, eclipses, solar flares, storms, planetary exclusive life forms and ect). I think these things really help in pulling people into the over atmosphere of not just killing the merc infront of you but being part of a world, from contract to contract.
Somethings that i have always been impressed with are the minor effects developers place into their environments, from easter eggs to adjustments in visability due to a near by explosion. |

Heavy Urban zone - destroyed and not destroyed. Buildings to run into and out of. Lot's of cover. Roads large enough for vehicles to move in, but tight enough where they wouldn't be able to maneuver well. Definitely heavy urban. |

New game mode: Convoy
The idea is simple, there are two "points of interest" on the map: 1. Storage Silo / Extractor / Production Facility (Yes, the things you use in EVE PI to generate ressources) 2. Launch Pad / Space Port
There will be a timer for each source (eg. Silo/ Extractor/Production Facility). Whoever controls the source when the timer runs out will get a crawler for his team.
Crawlers are heavyly armed automated vehicles, which transport ressources. At this point, you got one that is full of goodies.
If you control a Launch Pad or Spaceport, the crawler will move towards that location. If you have more than one, it will approach the nearest one. It will only use streets, no offroad driving here (its a dumb bot).
If the crawler reaches the Pad/Spaceport, it will unload its cargo and the goods will be launched into space for pickup by your MCC/Allies.
Goals: 1. If you deplete the clone reserves, the battle is over and you win if you are the one with clones left, as usual. 2. If you get a set amount of ressources launched first, you win. ( the interesting goal)
When the battle is over, you get a share of the ressources your team managed to launch (yes, your employer will take most of it, but a little share for everyone will be payed out)
So it is completely possible, to not get a single launch through until the battle is over, but as you can get a share, it is interesting to get the crawlers to your lauchpad. Even if you dont meet the victory condition, you get a share.
This game mode could be really intersting, as you have to conquer targets in the right order and protect a moving target, which is very dumb and will get itself shot if you dont protect it (the crawler, driving slowly in the middle of the street).
For the future, the ressources paid out by this game mode can go into the EVE Market. An interesting way to tie the markets together. Those ressources could for example be used to manufacture T2 ammo for orbital strikes (to be closely related to DUST) or something only interesting for EVE players (to make DUST politics interesting for EVE pilots)
Some other ideas: EVE Players (or DUST players, if they get a map screen) could invest isk in finding valuable ressources. If a spot is found, a battle will be started for those ressources. One team fights for the investor, one for the local landlord (npc/sov holder). part of the investment are the modules to gather the ressources (extractors / launch pads), but the investor can also assign a packet of tanks/turrets/whatever to his investment, which will be usable by the team fighting for him. Sov holders may also set up some ressources in case something is found on their turf, NPCs always give something into the battle. Free tanks for everyone

So it must be a dedicated rule about boarding ships. For me personaly it should be available only for capital and supercapital class ships. They are big enough to have space for 16vs16 or more. Of course it shall need another battle mode because present skirmish/ambush mode is not ok for it.
But how we can board a spaceship? I still don't have a good idea enough to share it here. But with sure I can say It shouldn't be easy, but also shouldn't be impossible. In future of course. o/
A ship capturing battle would commence in EVE online with two ships being adjacent to each other for long enough, after which they would both be immobile for the duration of the battle. |

I think something along the lines of the old wasteland map, from modern warfare 2, would be amazing, very dark, and smokey. Something that will make people watch their backs as they creep. A large field, with some poorly lit, fogged out, underground tunnels to navigate if you dare. Also, a few abandoned homes, and some towers to snipe from, while also being vulnerable, to keep balance.
Chernobl with something like this in the very middle. So it has a little something for every play type, close quarters, Sniping, Vehicle use, Objective type games, basically anything could be done there if it was put together right by the masters at Dust514 HQ. |

Managed to read through a few pages and every idea seemed credible and interesting;
Have we had some kind of lost city, or catacombs? Its always interesting to be fighting in the dark ruins, the dead lying all around... makes you check corners a lot more, especially if you add in a lot of shadows.

The possibilities are truly endless for maps/environments in a sci-fi game.
One idea I have not seen any game fully utilize is having an outdoor map with a network of caves running under it; allowing players to drop down in caves and bypass turrets or choke-points on the map.
On a side note, the current maps seem to be lacking any flora or fauna. I feel like small details like them change the map drastically. |

Fighting on asteroids and moons. Maybe even in an asteroid belt jumping from asteroid to asteroid with special jump jets.
Prehistoric worlds with dinosaur like animals that pop out randomly and live in dark areas of a dense jungle map.
Flying special bombers and fighters that carriers can hold in space warfare.
And all the other ideas others have written. |

kinda a loose idea of mine, like being the good guy figure... maybe a sovereignty based faction war type game mode when one faction is attacking another faction, but it takes place in a housing and or civilian heavy area, the goal of the defenders is to both evacuate the civies and kill the opposition...
both my map and game mode idea... to bad it won't happen tho. |

I would like to see different climates, atmospheres, and vegetation. Ice planet, Volcanic planet, Jungle planet, Space station. The beta maps are all pretty similar with several having the exact same mountains and road system on the one side. What are these industrial ruins and military installations there for? Is it a new settlement, or is it a mining colony etc.? Also I would like to see a couple of skirmish maps where dropships are necessary for engagement and objectives. Maybe some Islandish map or ones where the objectives are placed high atop buildings or mountains. I think it would also be cool to have 7 null cannon objectives or even 1(with a larger clone reserve or less MCC shields). I also like the idea of storms or other map specific scenarios, earthquakes, solar flashes, sudden darkness, etc. just a few ideas i had |

The reason could be an evacuation, or destroying data, or some such timed situation. " You are doomed. You are going to lose. We are paying you for time. The longer you hold out, the more time you give us to destroy this data (or get this stuff out of here, or whatever), the more you get paid." There could be a big bonus with lots of salvage if they actually win. The strong attackers would get paid for just capturing the place, with a bonus for doing it before the time limit. |

I would like an asteroid mining colony map like the pirate bases in EVE. The map could be triggered by an eve mission, and instead of destroying the base, DUST mercs could be inserted to gather up the treasure. They get paid for time and what they are able to jettison, after they kill the pirate defenders of course. Players could pick if they want to fight for the pirates or the capsuleers. There might even be guns on the station that can shoot at ships that need to be deactivated. Maybe the timer would be the arrival of a strong pirate fleet. There are all kinds of interesting possibilities here. |

The best maps are those where the battle outcome effects the EVE universe in some way. Somehow involving the DUST mercs in a way they they know what they are fighting for makes both games a lot more interesting. Many reinforcing small effects are much more believable, and useful to the game, than one big effect. |

Several ideas. Sorry if they're repeats.
Map types: 1. Asteroids. Multiple small platforms, only way to traverse is with drop ships. 2. Exterior of a ship. 3. Zero Gravity, have to use gun to move. Fire in opposite direction (Vets only) 4. Underwater 5. Jungle 6. Multi-level apartment complex (I.e. from the film Judge Dredd) 7. Trenches 8. Underground tunnels 9. Tombs 10. Temples
Game features: Save/kill the civilians Organic traps Defend for X time Horde NPC mini-bosses in pvp High/low gravity planets |
