A map themed "space bridge station" on the planet, with a stair that reaches straight into space. Unaccessible though:( but depending on which team wins, the crew either holds the bridge and rides it back up in a cutscene at the end. If the attacking team wins the bridge gets destroyed in an alternate short scene. Ill think of more ideas. |

I would like to see a constant personal training area (possibly where the game could have tutorials take place later on). Players would be able to spawn the different dropsuits and vehicles but only a generic version. This open area would be not have to be fancy, but would have target cutouts to train on and one of each vehicle either to use or destroy. This would mean that the first time I drive or fire in battle, I've had at least the chance to take this equipment out before hand. I should not have to raise the swarm launcher for the first time in a real battle against a opponents looming tank. Also, I suggest using basics on the environment, nothing more than some training targets, boxes/walls, and a driving circuit. |

With some 40 pages I doubt it hasn't already been thought of, but at any rate:
Oceanic planet combat on a floating facility. Mostly fluff and cool looking bits, but what about a facility rocking on the waves, occasionally being slammed with 500 foot swells, submerging and re-emerging for hectic, interesting combat.
Alternatively, stations floating on gas giants with raging storms that blow across the surface of the station, obscuring vision and potentially wreaking havoc on electronics. |

i found a music vid on youtube that had a very calm picture of a rocky landscape Link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9Kujas1IsM
so the idea is that create a map that requires a dropship for troop transport, similar to the landscape shown in the link above. it dosent have to be implemented now, but later on , it would suit larger maps.
make the objectives so that on the ground floor the mercs will do the dying while over the rocky formations, the DropShips try to capture their own objectives.

Had an idea for a map, battleground, lovation, theme.
In Eve Online, PI allows for roads to be built to ship materials. I would like to see a battle taken place on top of a massive huge hauler ground transport vehicle. I'm talking monster of monsters material mover! It would be similar to current maps, but if you cross to the red zone well you fall off the tabletop and die. Battle would be for control of the truck hauler it self. With materials being a motivational feature to New Eden, it would have an appealing payout or winning accumulation. This would fit the ambush OSM game type, and have a different motivation, and payout. |

I suggest a map with a "Chernobyl" themed power plant. Thereby, the tie in with the "command center" on the planet equating to no orbital bombardment do to the generators at the plant going fusion. Also, there could be areas that are red inside the map meaning that if you don't leave within the countdown, you die. |

Ok so we have all had a gd play on the limited game modes and im guessing we all want a little more variety to the game. The general mechanics of the game work rather well so far so how about trying to add some new game modes. in particular the intro video mentiins "you could be fighting off a drone infestation " sure making this a team conflict may have its problems but maybe a map with each team having a strategic location i.e. a power generator or hq to defwnd from some nasty tough drones while also dealing with sabotours from the opposing team. Other game modes would be welcomed im sure although not to sure on what they could be, also unrelated to maps and game modes, is anyone else annoyed at the fact there is no logout/switch char option in neocom? Its a r pop al pain having to quut the game and load again every time i wanna switch char |

Got another game mode/map I'd a for ya, some sort of ground salvage, picture some conflict has just gone in in close orbit the loosing battleship or whatever crashes to the surface, the local mercs see the wreck as a good sorce of salvagavle equipment while the crash survivors must defend the ship and repair varios consoles/areas of the ship to get the ship systems back online and escapr, map should consist of partial olanet surface and an extensive internal area of various ship designs naybe on for each race, with a bridge engine room cargo bay and lots of confusing maze like corridors |

I really would like to see highly-destructable maps. Anything explosive (including orbital strikes) could destroy the structures and map. That would equate to even more strategy and fun
As for ideas, how about a map that experiences an *epic* earthquake. During the battle, the ground would start to shake and split, leaving huge cracks that people could fall into and die. Some of the buildings could also collapse from the quake. Imagine leaping off the top of a tall building just as it is toppling over. I basically want to see Dust add a whole new element to FPSs through unprecedented action and destruction. It's time to truly create the image of an epic galactic war. |

a cave type map underground with limited visibility obviously but anyways it would be in the shape of this OoO more or less the middle would be some type of mining area with lots of moving parts and some vertical stuff like catwalks ladders and other things along with types of the acid and maybe mining equipment that you don't want to touch, the right side would be a crystal cave (this would be a pretty large cave so there would be skirmish available) but the left side would be mushrooms and some type of pool of water and stuff where there is some type of swimming animation or for heavies they couldn't swim but sink to the bottom and have a slow loss of hp like .4 a sec and they could walk on the bottom though, but there would be more environmental effects like shooting mushrooms would explode spores everywhere (the mushrooms must glow!) and they blow up and stalagmites can fall and crystals shatter causing damage. and then the vehicles can come in by some type of mining equipment but i would not want a dropship bringing my stuff in (we all know how they fly in tight spaces) some type of drill but there would also be lots of different tunnels that only lighter more agile dropsuits could access but the skirmish would have cave mortars in it that would be have 2 in the center and 1 on each cave side and you would be trying to cave in the opposite sides cave with them instead of destruction of and MCC. this is just a poorly punctuated suggestion but i think you guys can probably get the idea on this and they could have 3 ambushes off of each part of the cave. :) |

Would anyone think a Jove derelict titan class ship scattered parts of the hull in a swamp type landscape with a thick fog at low elevations and you when scaling the debris you get above the fog and see the glow of a blue sun. Within the ships debris you see prototype technology of the first cloning experiments. Orbital and precision strike would be harder to target your enemies in the thick fog. Even your own location cannot be seen unless you get above the fog with scanning penalties added under a certain elevation. I know you guys probably thought way better than this already and I'm shouting in my tiny mercenary room. |

Give us a reason to fight!
Player Controlled, Built and Managed Districts
The best maps are the ones we care about. Let corporations control districts and build whatever design they want. They have to spend ISK to keep it up and when an enemy corporation attacks the zone they have to be careful to not destroy the buildings they want to keep when they take over. Let Dusties build their own war factories for their own corporations and take the high level Meta gear and make it player built only, but they spend isk on the BPCs as an ISK dump.
Of course if you stake your claim in a territory, someone can choose to come kick in your door.

I would like the maps to be more dynamic by having more moving/changing parts. For example, the Skim Junction and other maps could have moving mechanics parts, have steam being vented from machinery, and more sparks or something being done to the ship being constructed. Here's a video at 1:56-2:56 that shows machines and steem vented out of them
Rain, snow, hail, and sandstorms would also be nice environmental features.
The environments we have now are too static and would benefit from more liveliness. |

How about fighting in the upper reaches of a skyscraper spire? Think of a modern office building but several KMs high. Looking out the windows you'd see the city stretch out before you, eventually reaching the horizon. Even have some ships in low orbit visible in the skybox to make it seem like a living and breathing commerce hub.
Multiple levels, wide open plazas and concourses with claustrophobic room and hall fights along the periphery. |

Forums Veteran wrote:-Low orbit (or hovering in the sky) gas refinery platforms on a storm planet, highly drop-ship orientated, point control islands. Archipelago warhawk style map. Bonus points if you can get struck by lightning.
-Ocean planet water refinery platform, surface fight at the start, defenders retreat into the bowels that goes deep into the ocean. A massive corkscrew staircase that winds down a central steel scaffold collumn in the centre that branches off to defence points within the refinery, large windows giving fancy views of the underwater scenery. Bonus points if you can open them and flood sections of the map. uses force-fields or magic or something.
- Genetically enhanced livestock rearing settlement on a temperate planet, large intensive rearing barns, Growing tanks, derelict habitation zones, grain fields and storage silos with woodland and fields surrounding. Bonus points for killable mutant cows.
-Magma world base metal mining installation, fighting requires onlining heat shields to create safe passage and then securing the installation. defenders try to shut down attackers shields, mainly long range to start, then endgame changes to shortrange inside the installation . Bonus points if you can catch people out by offlining shields to make them melt in the heat.

It would be nice if we had a level builder for Dust. Terran should be auto generatored but structures and other things could be customized.
Players could submit them and they would have to go though a testing processes which could be handled by player corps.
Potential map designs could be given a building permit on a dust planet.
Quality control can be handled by player corps which could apply as "Building Inspector" corps.
X amount of Inspector Corps could inspect the new map build and certify a "Test Certificate" with a rating system.
CCP would define the rating system and it would have to meet a minimum standard before it could be deployed planet side.
Player would have a potential to score the player built maps which could in turn effect the Test corps Certification rating.
Hell there are so many planets on eve I hate to have all the same maps for every damn planet.
This could turn into a nice little isk sink / isk generating business with a contracting system. |

Perfection, of course, would be to have map layout that matches the terrain presented in the Eve planetary model for the area, dotted with Eve PI facilities in addition to DUST whether we can conquer the PI facilities or not: territory for a major campaign.
In the absence of that, door-to-door urban warfare of several different cultural and architectural flavors would be neat, especially if the building locations and types in the map are randomized. Use of tools like active scanners could help compensate for labyrinthine floorplans. Give us a look at how New Eden actually lives-- albeit by letting us intrude on the residents' lives. Sniper picking at marks in the street from the balcony, shotgunner crouched behind a couch in the living room, squad of assaults busting through the door ... family probably evacuated, but if you can manage a bunch of civvies huddled in the bedroom, so much the better.
Also, something of this sort might let us make real, regular, tactical use of the inertial dampers: ambushes dropping from rooftops, etc.
Setup for ambush pretty obvious. With Skirmish, the fight would be over control of the district's heavy anti-air defense (so, NULL cannons, as usual), which might be mostly rooftop-mounted or could be set on the ground between structures, meaning that scaling the towers wouldn't be a direct route to victory but requiring defenders to watch the high ground.
... might work well with a new grappling hook device. |
