Also, I know CCP has said "no" to PVE in DUST so far, but if, and a big "if" it were ever to get implemented, the Sansha 'conversion' facilities would make an excellent EVE tie in to Incursions (remember, iteration Devs, iteration. . .) Capturing planets in Incursion zones with CONCORD as the contractor.
Heck, it could stay PvP and Uncle Sansha could hire mercs to help capture the population centers and CONCORD could contract mercs to shoot at the ones Uncle Sansha hired under the current system. . .

Underwater station complex - labyrinth of corridors, doorways, chambers, and control systems, with pressure plate dynamic player triggered traps, maybe a flood room, or pit or air lock.
Gas planet - floating low grav station complex - A facility suspended in the atmosphere due to low gravity tethered to the small solid core of misc metal, with lowered gravity for players too
Snow / ice complex - slippery combat? hard to move on slopes
Vertigo maps - INSANEly high mountains, cliffs, tower complex, that players have to work UPwards to objectives, likewise downwards closed quarters works too, wide open spaces work only when extremely tight spaces are available as well.
Asteroid complex - low gravity, ice, gas, or rock with ability to fall off map and die in space ( maybe more interactivity between eve and dust players on these places? maybe outposts?
Station maps completely above a planet as a final control / battle map, like the loosing teams last ditch effort, they can have turrets and maybe a complex specific vehicle close to a segway meets dunebuggy.
Maybe even a few newbie combat arenas hosting constant king of the hill type quick battles located inside the newb stations able to be viewed on screen or even later on stroll on down to the combat arena and sit in spectator seats.
People love to watch, as kinky as it sounds its another aspect of online gaming, it's a spectator sport as well.
Wanted to add a seconded request for these mentioned by a user above:
3.storms on a planet ..electric storms that stike lightning down at random locations and kill you or shuts down your shields if your hit. maybe even electric interferance on the hud.
4. water planets...man made structures on man made islands could open up boats etc to dust.. maybe add water effects on hud.
5. unstable planet wich has tremmors etc... maybe every now and again the ground shakes..making the hud shake.. |

A crash sight of a capuleer's ship. The capsuleer's Pod is buried inside the hulk and he is willing to pay the first merc corp who can extract him.
The map would be a large crater covered with various wreckage, including a few star ship weapons that are still intact. Hacking these would give control of them to a team.
The main hulk would be at the map center. There would be multiple routes to the Pod inside but players would have to override dangerous systems and destroy obstacles blocking their path. Players would have to fight to progress the fastest via their chosen route, while impeding the other team.
The map's sockets could be swapped out to change the type and layout of the wreckage for variation. |

a map for after a ship is shot down the players have to locate and secure the ship and have a battle to gain the ships contents , players are allowed to help pick up and transport content from the downed ship to the holding area using there vehicle / ships to get it there , plus a regular amount transported tic for the team holding the downed ship , the match should be timed so it does not last forever or have a limited amount or loot and the team with the most loot at the end of the time is considered the winner , or maybe the amount of loot should be a isk / sp multiplier for the team that won , also maybe some personal affects that can be given out to the winning team like a crate of guns or armor that gets split amongst the winners . |

A map that takes place on an ancient installation ... or about that capturing said installation that can give benefits during the game and off . Like the installation was a Terran planetary super weapon capturing this can give players( Dust and EvE ) the ability to destroy fleets from across solar systems or bombard planets. The whole super weapon itself is a map. Also the map has ancient defense AI ( kinda like in halo 4 Here ... Terrans used them to protect their valuable assets and their dark secrets. )
A map that that takes place underground near planets core.
A map thats an industry complex where its filled with buildings of all sizes interconnected with each other.
A ship grave yard thats was from actual destroyed Eve ships from a battle .
Storyline based missions
Say a powerful faction decides to invaded a highly populated high sec planet. Both Dust and Eve players must work together to defend the planet. Eve players objective is to defend and destroy hostile forces from entering the planet while Dust players must defend key locations , destroy enemy controlled planetary guns , recuse civilians , liberate cities , etc . Basically a massive cross platform coop event ( think like the last level in Mass Effect 3 ) . The battles will be massive and climatic ( like a level in a FPS , but thats open end with allied Npcs assisting players and filled with objectives . Imagine buildings exploding unique enemy forces deploying from huge ships and dropping in from drop pods. ) |

Not sure how it would go down in eve, but it would be awesome to have marine frigates like in homeworld 2.
Quoting their description in HW2
Quote:Originally a modified cargo transport, the marine frigate has evolved into a fast, highly armoured delivery vehicle used to insert Hiigaran marines into hostile ships. The marines are highly trained in raiding, disabling and gaining control of the enemy vessels. Given enough time they've been known to gain control of mothership class assets, giving their enemy's a very nasty surprise.
As an eve player I'd personally love it if you could capture enemy ships by force, using inserted Dust mercs. I imagine for defence there would be tough npc defence at first, but the enemy shoud be trying to insert their own mercs to fight back. Either by their own marine frigates or by a clone unit on the ship mabey. |

Not the entire map, but more like caves that simply go in and out for like fifty yards or so. A network of them.

Some sort of post-apocalyptic war-torn city or anything cyberpunk related (technologically advanced slums, etc.)
Map on a beach would be cool
Of course all of usual environments areas that have probably been mentioned (Volcano, snow, jungle, desert, swamp, etc.). Preferably with all of the themes exaggerated to make them look epic (not unlike how they did it in Monster Hunter Tri).

Because dust mercs are tougher than ordinary humans, I would like to see maps that are being hit by storms such as snow, rain and sand storms, even ones that would kill unshielded humans. It would be amazing if the environment would be affected by the time of day. My next idea is that orbital strikes should have some impact on the weather. For example, if it's raining lightly, an orbital strike would punch a hole in the clouds and cause it to stop raining sooner and have patches where rain won't as hard or at all. |

NATIVE LIFE (or imported life) ON MANY TEMPERATE PLANETS: -Plant, or plant like life. Something with color pigments adapted for the star type, distance from it, and atmosphere. I don't want to see some generic earth like plants. If there are thousands of planets, at least a few must have some form of life, and the EVE universe is already confirmed to have native alien life. I would really love some alien jungles. http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs45/f/2009/067/0/c/Alien_Plant_Concepts_by_RynoZebz.jpg
-SOME planets with hostile animals (or some kind of heterotroph) that can attack players from any sides. This will add an extra element of danger to the combat, and make things generally more intense. The animals shouldn't be "monsters", but organisms adapted to specific environments. http://images.allmoviephoto.com/2005_Alien_Planet/2005_alien_planet_008.jpg http://emol.org/tv/alienplanet/red.jpg
TEMPERATE PLANETS WITH SNOW. Earth is the basis for what is considered temperate but still has arctic environments, so I see no reason why we should have to wait for extreme planets to get snow and ice.
MASSIVE CRYSTAL FORMATIONS. would look visually stunning to have lots of awesome geological activity, like lots and lots of crystal formations everywhere.
STORMY MAPS: -I love lightning, especially when there is a lot of it. It would be fun to fight on a map with hurricane-like conditions.
-I would like some planets to not have a breathable atmosphere, but maybe some green gas. A storm of green gas would be pretty awesome.
VARYING SKY COLORS. Should depend on the kind of light received from the parent star, and the chemical composition of the atmosphere. I don't want the sky colors to be pretty much in the same general color.
MASSIVE SPIRES LEFT OVER BY EVAPORATED OCEANS. Would look awesome. http://www.astrobio.net/albums/origins/ahs.jpg
DESTROYED COLONY. Something with lots of decay, rust, and full of death. Maybe destroyed from a nuke.
URBAN. Always fun. I would love to fight in a big scifi city, especially at night.
HIGH PLATEAU. I want to fight somewhere high enough to be in clouds. Would limit visibility, and make things more interesting as a result.
EVE CAPSULEER'S SHIP. Infiltration mission.
SPACE STATION. would be very awesome.
CAVES.
OCEAN FLOOR. -Shallow water
-Abyssal plains. Super deep and dark, extreme pressure, would require some electronic forms of vision, or some form of flashlights. Darkness makes things interesting.
-I would love to see some brine lakes (underwater lakes made of brine, its real). http://www.zmescience.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/underwater-lake-1.jpg |

In general, my favorite types of levels:
jungles snow/tundra urban
jungles: -thick trees, possibly being able to climb them (think like climbing a ladder but with a tree) -flora/scenery that could kill you (giant man eating plants, spikey thorn barb wiring things... that way we can have "that one bullshit plant killed me again!!") more or less, im thinkin crysis with this one. that game had some pretty sweet map layouts
snow/tundra: -frozen lakes/rivers, with a possibility of thin ice that if your tank drives over them, the ice breaks and you lose the tank (if you wanna get crazy, have the lake refreeze after a period of time) -random snow storms, resulting in varying visibility -said snowstorms could also affect any weapons which use a lock on system -breakable ice walls -large icicles, that when shot could kill a player who just happened to be under it
urban: -fight in giant cities with structures which a player could go into and set up ambush points or even crash in a turret -set up turret structures on top of buildings -use of orbital bombardment could destroy a building, resulting in path blocking, player death, visibility due to the dust (ha) it causes the only issue i see with this one is if the buildings are ridiculously tall, setting up turrets would be a nightmare, but then again why would you set one up on something thats 20 stories? |

im going to try and incorporate as many ideas as i can into this How about during a sov take over there is one extra large battle to take the station and/or TCU in which the attackers drop onto a planet on a large open plain. They then have to move en masse towards a launch facility linked to the station in system, the facility is surrounded by a medium sized urban environment and then forest or impeding terrain of some sort. however there would be a main road to the (lets call it a city). so basically, attackers land and do a massive land assault to the city with infantry infiltrating through the trees, vehicles taking the road and air vehicles all around, this would be followed by large CQC and street fighting battles in the urban sector before finally reaching the launch facility
once the launch facility is taken the dusters then board rockets or some similar orbit capable transport and get fired to the station (queue previous peoples examples of station fighting).
this would not only make a really awesome mission but a really cool way that stations get captured in eve, plus if the attackers are also laying siege to the station then u could have like destruction effects in the dust battle ( because nothing says immersion like getting hit buy a citadel torpedo while sneaking up on a sniper :P) |

how about..
i gigantic train facility!! not just a facility FOR trains, but a gigantic facility in motion on two sets of rails spaced far apart moving at speeds of 200mph! over a gas giant/lava planet ect. you could have a gap across the middle of the map and then give the players access to limited use jump jets or for aurum only unlimited. with bridges at each end of the gap for LAVS and MTACS. we are talking HUGE facility. there would be an upper deck with containers and big communication centers. on the lower deck (service level) more closed quarters with small gaps in the deteriorating walk ways from constant enviormental exposure that you could see through to the planet surface below in fact the whole lower level would be bathed in the glow of whatever color the planet was! mixed with sparks from electric circuits.
so on and so forth. you get the idea. |

I had a really good idea while admiring the artwork that is brought up behind the XMB when the game is highlighted. You know those colossal towers in the background? I have no idea what they're for, but I like to imagine that they are for docking ships. so here's my idea. the entire map is focused in and around the tower. attackers spawn outside of tower, and must hack nodes located throughout the tower so that they may go up further. turrets and artillery are located around the tower, and the way up is comprised mostly of external catwalks. defenders will spawn at top, and will have smaller turrets located on the tower as well. when attackers reach the top there will be two final nodes which controls docking clamps. one on the tower, one on the bridge of the ship. both have to be fully hacked so that the ship becomes disengaged from the tower. Cue massive end of match cinematic with mile-long spaceship crashing into ground followed by massive white flash. attackers silhoetted as they walk away from massive nuclear explosion. cool guys don't look at explosions begins playing in the background. One chump with heavy armour looks around and a random piece of shrapnel hits him in the face... i guess he wasn't cool enough.
that is all. |

I like all of the variations on earth like planet environments, got to have a snow planet, jungle planet, water planet, forest planetGǪ and all of the variations on urban setting would be great.
Didn't read the whole thread but would also like:
Ancient Arcology Basement/ Sewer System
Unidentifiable Ruins
Would like to see any sort of "Colony" style maps on worlds outside typical Terran environment range
Methane Glacier Mining Colony - Where different areas of the environment impact drop-suit and vehicle function, and each team of mercs needs a specialist npc mechanic to keep vehicles and suits working. Keep your mechanic alive!
Crushing Gravity Research Facility - everyone moves very slowly...
Silicate (fields of glowing crystals) Clandestine Outpost - Where there are a series of linked life support domes, the only places where you can drop down installations, lots of bottle necks, probably the unicorns live in the crystal fields outside. But they are not nice unicornsGǪ
Asteroid Field - zero gravity and low gravity, where you can fly around (using rocket packs) from really large asteroids to really small asteroids, even blow up asteroids so that flying debris makes it impossible for capsuleers to navigate the field, or clear and secure a route through an asteroid fieldGǪ
Giant Meat Sponge - A planet where the biosphere is dominated by large fungoid organisms that grow into liver like slabs riddled with oozing caverns and vein-like series of interconnected tunnels which cover miles and miles of terrain. watch out for spores
Don't know what sort of space stations there are in EVEGǪ
But your typical hollow asteroid rotating tube stations, with "sky scrapers" projecting out into space could be fun |

I'd LOVE to see a space map. Much like those in the Star Wars Battlefront games. They were AWESOME!! It would be like two separate battles. A battle in space with fighter pilots trying to annihilate the enemies shields/engines etc. and then players infiltrating the enemy's ship from the inside, capturing the bridge, sabotaging the engines and control tower. Thanks for a great game though |

Seeing as I know you are just starting with temperate worlds (or so i hear) i'll limit the plethora of idea's i'm having to a few which might spark idea's at this point in the process.
- A motorway-like (or whatever their planetary speedways are called (preferably raised high on supports)) map fighting along it to get to an objective, with parts of it having been destroyed through conflict.
- Space port, maybe an opportunity to introduce the much demanded in-ship conflict now without immediately pissing off those luddites amongst us EVE players.
- Container yard could be linked or separate from the ship port.
-Futuristic rail-station, for those planetary node links in PI along with the motorways.
- Spaceship grave yard, much like the airplane ones in the desert or wherever on earth. An opportunity to have some beautifully crashed and destroyed wrecks slowly melding into the earth (back into dust (see what i did there)) as well as accommodate those in ship combat sequences demanded by all early on.
- has to be a forest (tropical or otherwise) in there some where instead of the slightly barren temperate maps we are playing now. (if the temperate maps are so dusty and barren what are the barren planets going to be like??)
Good stuff so far, so excited to see the universe concept slowly start to take shape from the foundations of EVE. |

I'd like some nighttime maps. What about a sort of Futuristic version of Normandy back in D-Day? Attackers storm an uphill facility that is littered with trenches, tank traps, bunkers and fox holes. I'd like some very weather oriented maps as well, imagine a fight on a lava planet and boom, ash storm, almost 0 visibility. Or a hurricane during a jungle fight. Whatever the maps are, make them new and exciting!
Also, some sort of onboard fighting in EVE settings. Hired by an Amarr corp to take a Major Minmatar ship that is causing distress for the Amarr corp.
I'd like some very alien looking planets (Just think Pandora from Avatar)
Also, DON'T BE AFRAID OF BORROWING IDEAS FROM OTHER GAMES FOR INSPIRATION FOR MAPS!!!!
Also, maybe a monthly map on a major planet that EVE and DUST players need to work together to defend/attack, with Player numbers like in MAG or even higher, really make it climactic. I want those moments where you're in a calm, and you run over a hill and what do you see when you reach the top? A massive sprawling fight of clones and vehicles, coming from two sides, (basically TDM but a massive scale) not one of those maps where you just fight through a small city or whatnot, but a massive Prairie-like area with trenches throughout the area and a no-mans land in the middle with few obstacles for cover, the objective? Kill the entire team until their Clone count goes to 0, or for a mission bonus, make it across the no-mans-land and take their area and "take them hostage" and steal their equipment (randomly generated from players and Comp. Players get equipment according to what they've done to progress the mission) as a punishment for letting the other team take their base. Battles lasting more than half an hour! Make them count as a major turning point for the month. Massive rewards and make people work together. During this battle, you must either quit and not be able to join the match until the next round, or get equipment drops from EVE to help you win.
Maybe even a siege of a Capital city or major spaceport, attackers could potentially "starve" defenders of their equipment and resources to win.
Make maps in new ways, be creative, one-sided maps i dont even mind, it adds a challenge. just don't go normal FPS game with vanilla maps that are all the same, just reskinned.
Get EVE and DUST players to work together and need eachother, form friendships, relationships, enemies and allies. Interaction between the two games must be huge. |
