There are a bunch of awesome ideas here! Mine might sound lame or have been mentioned before so bear with me. I was thinking of a map on a small, lifeless moon where gravity is low. Players can jump higher and farther than normal. Getting the jump on an enemy from 10 feet in the air would be pretty cool! |

Another planet idea- a planet that is baren with a ring around it. Would be cool to look out into the background and see a huge ring around the planet. For instance like Saturn but not a gas giant. |

giant cylindrical extractor, a massive hollow tube with spiral ramps leading down a few levels, magma/plasma at the bottom, vehicles possible at the top and bottom through elevator systems that reach the surface (also an assault point to flank with) and rooms on each level. heavy crossfire round with tactical vehicle usage |

I would like to see something from a lava planet where you see the sky is black with ash and any sunlight that comes through is blood red with volcanos erupting in the distance, rivers of liquid fire on the horizon, leaf sized ash falls to the blackened ground obscuring the visions of many, all the while the mercs will hear the earth beneath their feet belch magma from it's depths
or maybe make one like the lava planet from star wars with a huge refinary that has a ocean of lava running underneath bubbling and hissing at the rusty machines that roars back but this might have some trademark issues and such |

Many people have named maps that i would like to see. But one thing that i miss is life/death around me within the maps. If i'm fighting in a jungle or pine forest i would like to see some indiginous species running or crawling or even flying around. In urban or like house to house, people cowering or looking, maybe some bodies here and there. if i'm in a trench style map i would like to see artillery going off in the distance, craft flying above us, maybe some light effect when playing in the dark, blood on walls and floors, etc to give you an idea that your actually in a war zone. For any map; stars, multiple moons and planets, perhaps that you can see spaceships in orbit fighting or space station, different colored sky's. impact craters from artilerry or asteroids. Sounds of machinery, people/animals, or sparks of electricity. Like i said the idea that life was there or is there.
imagine; walking thrue pitch black hallways of an old building, bodies lying around..all you hear are loud bangs, screams, some gun fight in the distance, lights flickering on or off. You're senses hightened, but you can't see anything....untill you see the muzzle flash of a HMG spraying death around you....Now that would be awesome.
I hope that in the end or in the future of Dust 514, you get to have the feeling you're actually on a planet, etc. With all its possibility's. |

I'm not entirely sure how viable this is on the PS3 platform - I've only seen it in ArmA so far - but here goes nothing.
A huge map. Something where it takes at least 5 minutes to hoof it from point to point, just to arrive and get shot and put back at your previous place. This makes two things happen:
-Transport is a necessity. You need LAV's, or preferably dropships that are dedicated to ferrying people around. That turns the 5 minute walk into a 45 second flight, or a 90 second drive. With this, we'd need a bonus on pilot/driver warpoints (ex. You get points for any kills or captures that people make for the next minute after being dropped out of your ship). -Coordination. People need to work together. If you just walked 5 minutes, you'd better have a team and a plan, or you're about to lose some ISK and walk another 5 minutes. |

Capital New Eden's planetary capital cities are the greatest feats of engineering outside of Titan ships - their streets alone are filled with more nano-technology than a Frigate-class starship. Nano-alloy skyscrapers shoot tens of kilometers into the sky, and the spiderweb of roadways that link them are so thick as to blot out the local star - requiring streetlights even in daytime.
The Twin Assault Due to the sheer heights, you actually need to launch two battles at once to take the city. The ground-level assault fights their way to a set of underground bunkers, whereupon they hack the system and locate the AI-controlled Executive Officer who governed the planet, so that you can replace the EO with your own. Due to the thick cover, all off-map supports, RDVs and the MCC cannot aid the ground forces.
The second assault takes place in the upper layers of the skyscraper, and their goal is to launch a computer-virus package to the Customs Office - signaling the actual change in ownership. The MCC and off-map supports are available, and it is recommended you take advantage of them. The fighting is close-quarters in the bottom assault, while the top consists of a mix of CQ, vehicle, and aerial combat.
If one match finishes, then the players can choose to aid the other assault by taking high-speed elevators to reach the new combat zone. This means that this tandem-assault is one of the few with a player-count that can change dynamically. |

Here is my list of map ideas, have they been said before? Probably but I don't care.
*How about night and day cycles that are set to that particular planets rotation? Think about it, if you have night and day battles it can potentially give attackers a bit more material to work with strategically speaking. Night raids, attack at dawn or sunset so the sun is at your back and makes you harder to see.
*Maps in a urban setting. Playing in other FPSs (Killzone, MAG, and others) fighting through urban levels always seem interesting, there is plenty of cover, and the map appears less like a map made specifically for a fps deathmatch disguised as a location, and more like a location that had a battle erupt at it. This helps with the suspension of disbelief and can help you create some gorgeous and memorable environments.
*Jungle or Woodland (More natural environments) maps. So far we have desert wasteland, and desert wasteland with some greenery. Surely we can get some more diversity.
*Fighting locations include environmental necessities. PI modules can't be completely automated, otherwise who would monitor and maintain them? You're gonna have people on the ground dirt-side and they'll need things to help keep them alive. Water storage, water treatment and purification, agro facilities, food storage, living places etc. Surely things like this could appear. Even the 2 "Parking Garages on Line Harvest, indicate there is more going on that just a bunch of walls and trucks in the middle of nowhere.
*The "Parking Garages" on Line Harvest, clearly these are meant to be buildings of some kind, but I notice there is no discernible entrance to them. If there is no entrance, does that mean they are just 2 giant solid blocks? What purpose do they serve. Its the little details here and there that make things so much more interesting. |

This idea is from chronical of ridics I was thinking when I watching it. is a map that would be on a planet that is really close to the sun, where periodic you would have a heat wave going across the planet, killing anyone who is outside. In skirmish all the missile launchers are outside.
Planets that have heavy rain or dust storms so dense that you can only see couple feet in front of you.
I am sure that not all planets have the same gravity. So maybe see some with different gravity . |

It'd be neat if occasionally there was a sansha dropship show up. Like out of nowhere zombie-like sansha nation bots start swarming the map. It goes from 2 teams wearing down each others clone reserves to each team fighting defensively to maintain their own reserves as waves of nation zombie swarm the field. Winner still gets declared the same I guess it just changes the dynamic of a map. |

You guys should do some sort of swamp/tree map. Like have a map that's all dark and swampy. Then throw high up trees in and connect the trees by little huts and stuff. Also, have underground, close quarters combat areas so every type of class is satisfied with this map. |

Ok so far I have come up with 3 basic ideas.
the first, a tall skyscraper with an open mezanine and center of the building with long sweeping hallways. Best example is from the movie Dredd .
The second, perhaps a two platformed, floating laser drill in the sky with only a single bridge to cross. It would require dropships to safely get across (could lead to air-to-air combat). the station would have a couple of mounted AA machine guns and helipads.
The third would be a futuristic city for urban combat allowing for light vehicles and ships. comparable to the one in Final Fantasy: The spirits within.
+1 to the crashed titan as well as the battles on stations and ships, maybe even start in your quarters (lol) |

Just had another thought!
A recently abandoned research complex that has a transporter that directly connects with a derelict/destroyed ship thats stuck in orbit so you can go back and forth. There are flickering lights every where on both the ship and compound with blood on the walls. (as scary an effect that CCP can create...which im sure is horrifying ) Maybe even a messed up climate control causing fog/humidity that is collecting in the hallways and visibly pouring out of vents.
If that's not a good idea then please just consider throwing in some kind of creepy environment for us sci-fi horror fans :) |

+1 to the station maps and the crashed ships. Would give the feel of ships actually fighting for said planet, and maybe even the debris of ships falling from the sky and can kill you if not careful.
I love the assassination idea as well.
here are my ideas: instead of revolving on a MCC, Maybe maps that are for actual warfare against Corporation buildings. where you can deploy from the inside and head straight into the battle. I thought of this since some of the maps already are big enough for this, and installations will be implemented later.
I was also thinking of mountain based maps. I know there are some hill type maps already here, but I am suggesting actual rocky like maps. And having players use special gear to traverse to a point trails cant get to. it would be a good sniping map.
I like acid base maps, where the ocean is acidic or at least toxic in manner. would be a good squad based map as well. |

I think battles on the ships are natural. We see a lot of them in Star wars, Battlestar galactica, etc. But ships belong to pilots. I shall be mad if someone eject me from my battlecruiser as I flying around :)
So it must be a dedicated rule about boarding ships. For me personaly it should be available only for capital and supercapital class ships. They are big enough to have space for 16vs16 or more. Of course it shall need another battle mode because present skirmish/ambush mode is not ok for it.
But how we can board a spaceship? I still don't have a good idea enough to share it here. But with sure I can say It shouldn't be easy, but also shouldn't be impossible. In future of course.
Boarding towers. In present days the only way to take active tower from its owner is to destroy it and put your own tower. Here comes the second opportunity.
Let me explain for pure dusters how towers blowing works. First you must get fleet and start shooting the tower. Once the tower shield fall below 25%, the tower go in reinforce mode. In that mode tower is invulnerable for ships. When the reinforcement timer ends you can shoot it again and destroy it Here comes the role of mercenaries. Let say the reinforcement mode last 1d and 17 hours. Time enough battles to be arranged. Imagine the tower have 5 or 10 or other number vulnerable points. For every one of them we can expect dedicated fight. For example one for the CPU core, one for the fuel bays, one for the weapon management (it mean even the tower guns are online they may be unusable/hacked) , one for the tower shield control and other critical points CCP can implement.
The battles itself can be magnificent. Imagine a battles with low to zero gravity (I had play some in old Unreal 2 many years ago and it was pure fun), no LAV and HAV but dropship available, why not some special designed vehicles for low/zero gravity. Battles not only in the tower but on it surface too. If gravity is missing, there is no up and down, it can be so delusive for everyone, boarding hook if you start float uncontrollable and reactive backpack with limited fuel( something like that ), different behavior on some weapons(mass drivers, granades), and a lot more the environment can offer.
The final idea is that the attackers can take control after 10 or more different fights over the tower, or the defender can return control without need of shield repairing, again after winning 10 or more battles.
I am sure there will be a lot yes or no about my idea, and I know that there are 7 more types of planets waiting for its battlefields designs. But we have all the time ahead, and I shall be glad to see something like that in future.
