Query: If codebreakers were moved to highslots, what would the prime hacking fitting be? I only ask because the Gal with 2 each of codebreakers, Kincats and Dampeners seems like it would be better than any Minja fit. I suppose the minmatar can sprint and hack faster. But still. It takes one shot and I almost always know where the sniper is. I have read if you die in one shot you don't get direction indicator. I seem to get them almost every time and almost always a 1 hit kill to snipers. Might be headshots dont have indicator. half the time just seeing the kill feed tells you where the sniper is. proto or thales start looking in the redline if not there look in the towers. I die in the enemy redline with my thales just to pop them in the head with it from 1m. If your not going to stack HP than a heavy is not the best sniper. sure you can get 40 more dmg with a lvl 5 calmando and a thales but you lose more than you gain. looks good by dmg numbers and that is it. 961 eHP is not worth it IMO. unless you got a logi repairing while sitting on repair hives. I think you would have been better off using your min scout running around with sniper / smg while hacking. ignoring the heavy snipers as they are about not dieing not highest dmg. I can do well enough with 2x cDMG on my gal scout with kal sniper vs real players and ignoring the KDR heavy snipers.
If you're taken by a headshot, there's no hit marker. I've been OHK by body shots in my less-than-200-eHP scout suit, and you do indeed briefly see the hit marker indicating direction of attack. I've seen you through my sniper scope, that time we were in squad together. You also run under 200 HP, or maybe just above it. So aye, you should see the direction because when they see we've got so little shield/armor hp, they don't bother looking for the headshot. VF, mate, you don't snipe often enough in the current meta to have a clue what you're talking about. At Prof 3 with a Charge, at Calmando 3 in a neo ck.0 suit, I'm OHK'ing on a headshot where with 3x complex damage mods on my Minja suit I was tagging the headshot and watching them run behind cover with between 0-30 armor HP remaining. 40 damage is bloody well worth it. Nothing bad intended. I understand it only needs to be a difference of 1 pt for a OHK or no. If it works for you that is all that matters. meta has only changed in the fact that assaults can now have over 1k eHP (927 thales headshot dmg with prof 5 calmando 5 3x cDMG) heavies can have like 1.5k + eHP. Sorry I said anything against your playstyle of your sniper. I understand my idea of a sniper is a lot more different than other in THIS game. They even advertised it for this game the fact In other games your sniper was a glass cannon but in dust you can wear heavy armor and use a sniper. Wish you well with your sniper. Remember I am 99.9% of the time solo and I will not talk on mic so when you shot and kill me your position is not broadcast to squad and rest of team. I will come back for you with kal tac so you have a chance, lol

Surviving is easy.
Protip: Afterburners They really do need a cooldown nerf. 10s is WAAAAY too short.
I lose more ADS to ramming and RDV's than anything else now. I only get killed by AV if I'm stupid enough to try and poach a kill when they have tons of AV in the area. Alpha damage is the only reliable way to take down an ADS, which is why Rail Tanks and Forges are used to that effect in PC.

Hmm... while I cannot guarantee I can perfectly slice the headshot damage to reach design goals the main rifles in question however are still going to likely see a massive improvement to headshot bonus regardless.
Which brings me to the tactical. Make it follow its brothers? or make it the rebel with higher regular damage and lower headshot factor as it is meant to be more of a frontline sniper?
Anyways I will begin to start building up damage tables I will be working with and will need advisement. I have appia's math up as well and going to throw her model in.
and looking back at the condensed table I seemed to have screwed up in two somewheres.

PC players had made it very abundantly clear that they the least appreciated folks in that game however.
OHK just because has lead to many many frustrating things in the past; Missile tanks, small missile turrets on anything, large and small rail guns, grenades and super splash forge guns back in the old days.
OHK on the receiving end should be more of 'you were stupid and deserved it' and less of 'guy pointed a gun in your general direction. Like not seeing that RE there, you stood there thinking the plc shot is going to miss, you stood still for a forge or sniper to line up the cross hairs on you. You didn't weave enough to shake the railgun turret's aim off. you didn't catch the grenade cooking animation on your enemy. The list goes on but the ohk of the victim has to be majority the victim's fault.
OHK on the giver's side should be because you put effort into it. lined up that perfect headshot, timed your grenade and projection perfect, hitting the guy squarely with the rail and forge, placed your RE in a position the enemy may easily miss it.
And if I am willing to bet anything; I am willing to bet players are more than capable of adapting. Laser rifle changes has constantly changed the best perches to laser rifle from where you get that perfect afocal burn point of doing the most amount of melting in a short amount of time.
I would rather wish to change maps I would rather wish to change redline mechanics I would rather wish mcc exterior player interaction behavior. But alas those are not options. Screwing with the zoom or range is are sadly the only options afforded.
As back to needing that 600 meter range to avoid getting forged and yet still getting forged? Why in the hell did you let that guy get 300 meters on you? In theory you should be able to sanitize everything within 300 meters if you pay attention.
Yes I am a terrible player but I am not ignorant of the problems the game faces.
Players want to be rewarded for doing a good job. I am going to give them that. Players want to feel like they belong doing something they like. I want to give them that. and I really want players to tolerate their enemies regardless of what gear they use; and that is a crazy dream really way far off in lala land but you have to admit the game would be better for it if was that way.

I think of it as a good thing.
Counter-Sniping was some of the best times I've had. It starts by them pulling out a SR, then getting killed over and over against until they quit trying.
Back then I sniped as a scout because I needed to draw their attention to me, then set up RE traps so when they tried to kill me they'd either find an empty nest of nanohives and die from REs. Or they find me sitting there with a sniper rifle trying to apporach and find themselves killed by REs. Or waiting for them to come to where I was and snipe them from a new location.
It gives more value to a sniper. Not only was the sniper killing high priority targets but they have also caused someone to leave the group and divert attention away from attacking/defending points. With competent levels of situational awareness you can watch them look for you and kill red dots for a bit.
The fantastic battles that happened. Epic moments where people needed to divert their attention away from the point to hunt me down.
Even in early Uprising I could run around in a Scout suit, Cmp Damge Mod, Cmp Dampener, Cmp KinCat, Cmp CardReg, Bsc Armor Repairer. Snipe at [E] on Skim Junction then run around and get to [D] and take out their guys over there. That was back when I ran with Gem Cutter. The two of us tag-teamed sniped and could hold down 2 points working together. It got fun when Symbiotiforks joined us. We even did PC matches with 3 snipers.
But you can't land on the Obelisks anymore, the Laser Rifle has more range, and the Rail Rifle exists.

I get that, I do. I've had some pretty sweet sniper duels before. (though I'm sure not to the level you or any dedicated sniper has, and mostly before 1.7)
But if my first thought is to take out a sniper rifle rather than go on a hunt, then you get into the issue of "the best/most efficient counter to the object is itself" which leaves a nasty taste. Particularly after what we went through with tanks. (and arguably still are going through) But then again, a weapon must be able to kill a person wielding it, but it shouldn't be the best at it. How do we get through that?

Red line snipers have no affect on the outcomes of battle. They only time people complain about them is when the other 15 members of that sniper's team are also in the redline.
They wouldn't even be a footnote in this discussion if the sniper rifle had the power to actually kill another sniper
I blame her for nova knife kills on tanks
