I really need to elaborate further when I say stuff. I meant when 1.8 drops, what with the reduced ttk and in-built reps and all. Like 23 armour/s or so? If Armor Repairers retain the same bonus as they have now, it'll be 28 reps/s with four Complex Repairers. |

Right, right, skill bonus and all that. Sounds pretty good, and without the recharge delay of shields.

Currently, including the skill bonus to repper efficacy you get 25hp/s with 4 complex reppers. In 1.8 that would rise to 28hp/s. It's good but it won't keep you alive under fire.

Balance out the Rep with some Ferro and a cloak and you have your recovery time covered (in a perfect world) All in on modules is not always the best way to go, spread around the options is sometimes the better option.

4 Complex Repairs on a Scout (Ratnik the Repair God N N fits )
It's fun, not viable. I paired it with an Allotek BuAR and boy it was fun. Taking damage, dip behind a box for 3 seconds, pop back out before they can get shields up.
If you get a logi behind you though..... Stand 50 meters out and take out a heavy.

Never bother to maxed out armor reps. I either rely on armor repping hive that I carry or have a logistics in my squad. The speed of Armor Reps just isn't enough to matter. I'll stick to my gallente passive reps ;)
Active Scanner 0, armor reapair 3, shield recharge 0, shield regulator 3, dropsuit upgrades 4. Everything else in Dropsuit Upgrades is at lvl 5

Scanning some1 usually just lets them know I'm around before I want them to know it. So I pretty much never run a scanner unless I'm; a. Squad I'm in in running spambush and there are no other scanners on the ground. Orrrr b. I'm just following some1 scanning em over and over. 0XD

I only ever got level 1 in active scanners because I can't fit anything better on my adv gal and even if I could fit an adv scanner, why would I? Only proto scanners are going to pick up scouts and the spin scan allows me to pick up anything I want in the entire area anyway. Besides I only ever use active scanners in ambush, when I know my opportunities for REs might not be too plentiful or when I know that the team's going to get stomped so hard that it's not even worth getting into combat, just join a squad and pick up whatever +15s I can.
Scanners are probably my least favourite equipment these days and I may ditch them entirely in 1.8 in favour of passive scanning instead. Almost all my suits have F45s on now, a couple have regular REs or stable uplinks and only one has a flux scanner on- I think I'm just too hooked on my little boom booms to use anything other than REs.
Oh yeah, and my plan to stay up late playing tonight didn't last long. I got bored and tired and then spent about 6 hours playing Hearthstone instead... now bed.

Wondering how many know that passive scan results are shared to your squad, alot of midframes seem ignorant to this.

It's always a good giggle when I see people my squad-mates don't realise they're picking up on their passive scans but they're too oblivious to have noticed them themselves!

Here ya go patrick https://zkillboard.com/detail/37114837/ Who needs an active scanner when you have a scout with 4 equipment
Though I also don't bother with such. I have the tactical awareness to not need passive or active scanners.

I picked up active scanner to level 3 a while ago, to run the quantum advanced scanner. Still use it occasionally, but only when I'm getting scanner spammed by proto-stomp squads.
By the time I break out my proto dampened/scan scout they already know I'm about, so I'm not losing much from using it, and they seem to react really badly to being constantly scanned back while getting a scan missed message on their end.
Sometimes I just spend the rest of the match in a safe location spinning in circles for my own amusement...

Brokerib wrote:Sometimes I just spend the rest of the match in a safe location spinning in circles for my own amusement... Did this exact thing yesterday in one match - ambush on the border gulch bridge (worst map/game mode in the game, especially for scouts!). I'd jumped in King Babar's squad and our side was getting absolutely destroyed because the enemy got their tanks in first and once that happens on that map, you're pretty much screwed. I knew it from the outset, so went and hid under the bridge and spent the entire match spin scanning. I went 0/0 with 180wp and came something around 6th on my team.

Interesting .. Any specific observations? Will any LOS do, or did you have to Aim-Down-Sights at a target to paint him for squadmates? |

1 of the guys was commenting last night about having me in the squad.. they would see me ripping around on passive then suddenly a bunch of red dots would appear
so I showed them something really stupid and switched over to a Gal proto with 4 complex range amps |
