I'd feel bad but I run gal scout, so assuming I'm carrying knives is pretty dumb. Ouch lol. I run knives with my gal with great success. Snazzbear sliced me up quick lol Man, when you spot a scout with knives in a 1v1 situation; lock the doors, close the windows and whip out those knives. The fight can be over in 3 seconds. lol Novas can't handle me and my SMG man when I see a nova and start shooting they whip out there other gun. Either I'm as fast as them or faster |

So after running around in my dragonfly for...ever I'm thinking it's about time I spec into an advanced suit. Which way should I go?? Mini?? I don't use knives currently but like speed. Or the other scout as I like scan bonus at least if it ever works. Not sure of other benefits. If u have Time let me know your opinions and reasoning. I don't have enough total sp to make mistakes (like I did by spec ar lvl 4...) thanks any help is appreciated |

Adv Gal > Adv Minnie, but Pro Minnie > Pro Gal.
So if you're gonna stick with Advanced (and don't intend to knife), then I'd recommend Gallente.
G-1 has 2 high slots, M-1 has 1. G-1 has 200 HP, M-1 has 170 HP. G-1 has 42 PG, M-1 has 30. G-1 has 175 CPU, M-1 has 115. |

I still do a lot of shotgunning and now active scanning for my mates. Still have an assassin build using dampenors and a build for speed capping. Mostly use sg smg and now md for shitz and giggles. Love to flank scanned reds once my mates engage. Have been leaning towards mini just wanted other opinions.
Usual build is dragonfly w Basic extender Basic green Basic dampenor K5 specialist Smg 19 or 45 advanced scanner |

i tried, i really did i swear but i just can't use the shotgun, it's just so unreliable hell i've shot heavys point blank and did no damage. T-T and on top of that it's taking me multiple hits to kill something at close range, which makes no sense for a cqc weapon. Y U kill wang annie!!!!! |

My personal opinion is that if you don't plan on ever using Nova Knives you would probably benefit more going Gallente. It has more Low Slots so you can triple stack those Kincats and end up going faster than the Minny Scout. Yes, the Minny is more durable though the only time that is going to matter mostly is if you are hit by a sniper. Gallente is most likely going to be one shot while the Minny, if core skills are up, will probably survive with a few armor slivers(unless proto or thales then bye bye). Ideally a Scout should never be sniped because we should always be moving though. |

Congrats on your 49 page thread, you have something cool here. So I'm in a gal crisis, I don't know what to tank, what can I do with my suit since scanning is fudged. Any good combos for adv and bsc fittings. Maybe focus on hacking at the moment? Any good success stories I should take into consideration? |

I'm doing decently with my advanced Gal fitting: Complex KinCat Complex Armor repper Enhanced Shield Extender
(passive armor skill at max, passive shield skill at level 1)
Good for hit and run, I'm usually back up to full shield and armor in a few seconds, as long as I avoid getting killed in the first place. It's usually enough to run around a truck or something like that.

Range is our best strength, scouts are good @ facechecking or cherry picking,.
yea i know, me an my terms,..
I dont think hacking is a good build for a scout, ( seems like a logi thing with more hp )
if you use your gal bonus nubs in front of you will do the fighting off your scan, people are like moths flying at lights man,.
Just pump it up to 40+ m and let the noobs flock to the red lights, be the last one to fire an pick up kills or assists then hide,
Scouts are fine when they get used like snakes, radar is perfect atm and exploited by the ones that know it works..
/edit, well i guess its not perfect, but I do love how blind everyone is that thinks its broken,. cheers |

Playing lots of solo Ambush and posting decent results (10-20 kills, 3-6 KDR on average). I'm running Adv Gal more often than my Pro Gal as of late. Adv Gal fits are super cheap, so you'll turn a profit even if you perform poorly.
Ace's "snake" analogy is dead on. Playing sneaky w/Locus Nades, SG, and SMG is working well for me. I generally make myself known with an unexpected nade to the face. Works well in most cases.
Sinboto's right about shotguns. They're too inconsistent at the moment for a Scout to rely upon. I still carry a one (standard BPO) for use on rare occasion, but I'm getting more kills with my BPO SMG. The 'ole Toxin becomes a death ray with a little SP investment, especially against wounded targets.
MD's may not be a bad idea. Sinboto, Prophet and Bojo are all excellent resources for you to query.

its hard to tell its working being most players only have like 10-20m range and that is only what the inner circle will show. you see a target pop up you assume they are in your scan range and they disapear you think its broke when they were never in your scan range to begin with. outside that is caused from line of site from you or another player or scan from another player.
Cant wait till shared vision is disabled and shared scan is squad only. The gallente scout will be OP. LOL

I think this has been pretty much established by now, but semi-confirmation that some sort of scout bump is coming. When is still a question.
CCP Wolfman wrote:FLAYLOCK Steve wrote:So all suits will strafe at same speed? Like will all suits strafe at 90% or just the 90% of each specific suit? Like scout will strafe at 90% of their speed. We're hoping to give the scouts some love in 1.5 but the vehicle rebalance is our priority so keep your fingers croseed we have time. |

I am somewhat successful with the following setup for ADV Gal:
Militia shotty Advanced Assault SMG Militia locus nades
Std RE's
Two advanced kin cats for lows Two advanced shield recharges in the high's (the ones where you get an overall shield "penalty", the penalty is a % which means it only drops your shields by 1 or 2 points total and increases your recharge rate a ton).
Srry haven't been on in a week or so to give exact names and whatnot, but you get the drift.
I did notice that the advantage from higher tier shotty's is minimal compared to the additional CPU/PG costs. Better to go higher tier with your secondary currently, and conserve CPU/PG by keeping militia shotty. |

You know, I started to think the exact same thing last night. Started to switch out my CRG-3 for the standard shotty. What I've wondered, though, is this: I'm at level 3 on SMG OP ... is the M209 you can get at lvl 4 worth the upgrade over the 512-A? It looks like it would be... |

You'd conserve even more by going to the basic shotgun, and get an extra two rounds per clip, wouldn't you? ISK/suit would go up a marginally, but that's the only downside. |

The extra RoF (and I think maybe extra range?) is nice, but I think in general its not worth the extra pg/cpu, and extra isk, if it means making sacrifices elsewhere. Knowing I can do plenty of damage with whatever SG/SMG combo I go with, I always fit weapons last, and the SMG last of all. Optimize your modules and equipment first, then use whatever remaining CPU and PG you have left for the best weapons that'll fit. |

Cool, thanks man. Right now, I generally fit my little Toxin SMG in there, so I can have the modules I want ... and I will eventually skill up my SMG OP and SS attributes, anyway, whether I use any higher-tier weapons or not. But I've been wondering about that little Assault SMG...
Much appreciated! |

Definitely give it a try if you put the SP points into it, you may rely on it more than I typically do and find that its worth fitting. If you find that you can fit all the modules you want and still have room for the M209, by all means throw it on there. |

So not to go into too much detail here but I have almost 2.2 million unassigned atm. I have lvl 5 passive armor, biotics, core and shields. Lvl 3 scanner, lvl to electronics and whatever the other one is (gives 5% pg and pcu). Most everything else is lvl one ie all modules. I am set for guns atm and have lvl 3 damage mods. Now I don't have dropsuits past my dragonfly. So... Which way should I go here. Get an advanced suit and get some enhanced mods? Straight up proto a suit. Or proto a couple modules? Or just get a handful of enhanced modules. Or do nothing til 1.5.
Help from my scoutly bros is as always greatly appreciated. I am really digging having this resource so if you get some time what opinions do you have on this. Which modules are most important, and level of suit you need to run them. Thanks mates |
