Think of it from the perspective of a doctor, after a long day of dealing with patients who could affectionately be referred to as dum dums. Suddenly you have someone who from your perspective is a **** eater whose only purpose right now is to ruin your day.

You don't know that he has a condition, for all you know he's a normal person being an absolute ass.
Wouldn't you treat an ass like an ass?

I DO know what it is like to be treated like an ass. On what is a weekly, and often daily basis. Often regarding things I cannot control. And yet, I am still respectful! And if I am a doctor, and don't take the time to know that my patient is autistic, perhaps they should fire my ass for being a sh*t doctor. Former CEO of the Land of the BIind. I honestly can;t speak to any experience with autism on any real level other than snippets of life experience. I had a neighbor who was severely autistic. Park's mother acted as a patient advocate. Some patients need that absolutely when dealing with getting treatment because there are sometimes really bad people in jobs they shouldn't be. again, in this situation who knows.. but Park is probably not capable of being his own patient advocate. In my example with my one ***** nurse, I had to be my own advocate. Not everyone is so lucky. Not even Cat Merc. Especially in the long term. Park is lucky to have a good mom who speaks up for him and advocates his health treatment. anyways- feel better buddy! don't let it get you down. Next doc will be batter if only based on odds ;)

As an aside, in my above average experience there are many more crappy doctors then good doctors out there. Park stated the Dr knew his case from previously. That aside, it's his JOB to treat patients well, if he can't, he shouldn't be a Dr. I have no respect or patience for anyone, never less a Dr who can't act kindly to another person in need.

What happened should not have happened but sadly is a common occurrence. Medical staff where I live often work with a multidisciplinary team to help alleviate, and help with issues like this. It helps everybody involved, in my experience. Park, I hope your Social Worker did a follow up with the Doc. It sometimes helps the next time they have a circumstance that the are not prepared for.
