Haha cool but I warn you - I am a COMPLETE tank noob. ADSes I can fly easy enough (though I can't hit much with them) but tanks, man, I went out in one the other day, just......those will take some getting used to. The whole turning circle thing just screws with my head, and that's when I'm *not* under pressure to get the hell out. |

Not really related but....was watching a vid on the BBC just now about a passenger plane doing a stunt at some airshow...which linked to this crazy vertical take-off manoeuvre.
Also this little roll from the same vid was breathtaking.
Is it just me whose mind is blown any time I see this sort of stuff? |

I was going to post this in the GD scan thread, but i do concur that this is the more appropriate place.
@Adipem, what exactly does your post-Charlie Recon Scout include? It sounds interesting.

I love that stuff too !!
I think my favourite fighter plane was the Hornet. I know VTOL aircraft has been the big thing for the past 2 decades, but if I could go back in time, I'd love to be a fighter pilot for the old fashioned F/18.

@Adipem, what exactly does your post-Charlie Recon Scout include? It sounds interesting.
Before Charlie, I'd occasionally field a CalScout "Warden" ... it was pretty squishy, but it's scans were overpowered:
HS: Cmp Precision (x3), Cmp Shield LS: Cmp Range (x2) PW: Rail or ScR SW: Bolt EQ: Proto Scanner + Cloak (or) Proto Scanner + Proto Scanner
With HF Charlie, EWAR bonuses were shifted around such that the AM Scout replaced the CA Scout as the competitive low-dB Recon Unit:
HS: Cmp Precision (x2) LS: Cmp Range (x2), Varied (x2) PW: Rail or ScR SW: Bolt or SMG EQ: Proto Scanner + Cloak (or) Proto Scanner + Proto Scanner
These low-HP units provided the squad-wide "360 degree wallhack" scans which were pitched to Rattati as the cause for Scout overperformance (complete BS, in my opinion). In my honest estimation, both these units were inferior to the current GalLogi in recon and combat capabilities as well as WP earning potential.

Daily Mission: Lose 5 matches Reward 10 keys We already have missions for completing matches. Might help if they were higher in the rotation, and if the bug where you get credit for matches that you back out of were addressed. Actually that bug needs addressed for all missions, might make some gains on people completing matches in that context. I was thinking something more along the lines of a deterrent. I'm not opposed to a bit of the 'stick' as well, just would like to see some 'carrot' there first or along side of it.
It's a totally different game style but the Bliz game HotS runs a separate queue for people who drop out of matches and you have to complete three full games in that (without leaving any) before you're able to go back into the main pool of play (and anyone who joins you in a squad/squad you join is pulled into the "leaver" bracket).
We'd have to address some things in dust before that becomes viable here (Scotty needs to learn to play nice ) but having something in place to deter that degree/level of risk averse stat padding would be nice.
Another aspect which I would love to see in game is the ability to deploy into a battle in progress (providing there is room) with your friends. This would fix the "one many left behind" thing from squads, it would allow folks to call up support from their pals if they're in match and really want to swing that particular game and it would overall support the social underpinnings of the game.
I rather doubt we'll see a single method address the problem in full, but a combination of elements may see us right.

1. Very much support this, just need to make sure that it's addressing active play not simply presence within the match. 2. First is appealing in various conceptual ways but sadly I have to wonder if our player pop can support such a thing at this time. Second aspect seems workable, and may make a team deploy feature (and even match making) function more readily due to things like the number of slots in match (16 being divisible by 4 but not 6 does play a role). 3. Agreed, it is hard for many players to be motivated to play hard when they know that they've been dropped onto the (currently) losing side of a fight in which they will be rewarded less because they're new arrivals (through no choice of their own).

This is a big deal for me. I will leave a WINNING battle if I'm not there right at the start. The silly way you get a % cut in your pay based on how much of the fight you were present for is a real killer for me. I can get there 3 minutes late, make top of the board, and lose tons of isk.

The above two i can't say because i have never played them.
Vanquish is brutal. It is hard as hell. It is like you are a newberry going up against the big time wolves in DUST. It is extremely unforgiving. And fun as hell. I have hours logged into that game (not as much as DUST but still a lot)
Red Dead Redemption is a masterpiece. Though i am pretty sure you know that. It is one of the best PS3 games imo. There is not much that can be said.

There was something so bland about it that I couldn't even get into it beyond the first level.
I have not played Red Dead Redemption, but I love everything Rockstar puts out so it can't be bad. And I highly recommend L.A. Noire if you haven't played that one yet.

Ghost Recon: XD The amount of fun I had playing the multiplayer on that game lol Don't remember the singleplayer honestly. On the multiplayer I ran a squad of people from my old corp. So there is a stun gun you can use as a secondary weapon. Gets like 2 shots I think, well stun an enemy player, they fall over, you can hack the person. Once that happens, everyone on the enemy team is painted for your whole team. I don't mean just mini map painted I'm talking you can see their body through buildings. Making the next stun hack that much easier.
That and wall bumping, you get wall bumping down and u were almost untouchable.
If I could find my old external hard drive and could get it working again..sigh. I had couple hundred gigs of footage from that game, 50 or so gigs being good stuff.

The story doesn't even try to present itself as anything as a frame for the gameplay. If you go into it with your brain turned off it can be a good experience, but that's not my kind of game so it wasn't too fun for me.
Platinum games have apparently gotten better at writing interesting stories over the years, but they're still not quite there yet. A game with their level of action-packed gameplay and an actually great story would be a goddamn masterpiece.
