It was a marathon read (not quite like I marathoned Worm) but I enjoyed it thoroughly. I'd quite like to know what you think of it. Once I get over my initial overwhelming cynicism of a work I tend to dive into it happily and forgive all of its flaws afterwards forever, so you may well be more critical than I. If ridiculously dark superhero stories interest you, in addition to Pact there is a serial called Worm. It's by the same author, who apparently has a thing for ridiculously grim fates - one of the characters has this thing where they put you in a localised timeloop. Forever. And then they like to cut you while you're in it. So you get cut over and over and over again, for eternity. Worm starts off with a little teenage angst (something which the author has said they're probably going to rewrite) but it hits its stride a little ways in. I enjoyed it quite a bit - although I very very strongly recommend you don't look at spoilers because some of the things happening in there are insane and should definitely not be ruined. It's also longer than the entirety of GoT so far put together. I've found the web serial format to be generally quite pleasing. They tend to be free works by highly dedicated and skilled authors, from what I've found. And long. As someone who reads a ludicrous amount (I have a home library, yay!) that's very valuable to me. You might want to look for a mass download or something though, as on a flight it might be a pain to click between chapters on webpages. Man if it is good writing the author should self publish on amazon/ibooks/etc. Such an easy thing to do if you have good content!

What made it frustrating was that at the end of the match they made a push, as we were leading up until the end. I checked and we only had 11 players on our team at the end, though part way through when I checked we had 16. We basically lost a very close match because 5 people were D-Bags and left. It felt competitive, and lots of points were going back and forth, but we had a 3 pt city that was fairly well defended, then all of a sudden at the end no one is defending or taking back points, and they had 4 out of 5 points, with the last one blinking.
