Really hoping for some scout love soon so things like this don't happen I'm just guessing that he just havent faced one of the good scouts out there. I'm not as good but I sure want to try my luck and use my knife on that guy Truth be told I barely use my knives anymore :( they are just unreliable at the moment even more so my remote explosives/proxi mines I loved them when they worked but i can't rely on them to work,if I ran solo this wouldn't be a problem but I'm in a corp and I have to preform the best I can.
Yeah, my corp is having me switch to Shotgun/SMG combo instead of Knive/SMG. And it's true, the shotgun is a more reliable CQC weapon against multiple opponents.
So, I'm grinding this week toward a K5 Specialist. Was told by a friend not to go proto as it wasn't worth the SP. Any thoughts? |

I alternate between Dren (Standard) and K5, primarily due to CPU/PG limitations. A scout can't fit a Proto SG while carrying decent gear.
Also, you'll observe more problems with hit detection as you skill into SG Operation. The bad mechanics hit you harder as your pellet spread tightens. Level 5 is akin to running a Breach at Level 1. In my experience, you can't hit anything that moves unless you get lucky or run right up against your target. I didn't have any issues with accuracy in Chromosome; I'm hoping an SG fix is in the cards for 1.3.

Used them before definitely good for a scout due to the lower requirements fitting wise while still doing some nasty damage.
If you can use it the breach is a fantastic weapon but either requires inhumane aiming ability or to be flanking.
Using mass drivers myself i find it a less situational weapon and I'm able to easily stand against any suit if I play/move correctly, great for flanking too.
take it from me though have a good back up because either you're using assault and will injure yourself in cqc or the 'normal' mass driver and find yourself in need of ammo frequently. |

I used to go with just sg and smg; I was doing ok coz sometimes it just shoots blank, esp if you have breach sg, only have 2 chances >_< If i missed with one im killed most of the time anyways so I picked a higher dmg vs clip size. Then I switched to knife, had more fun with it.... I just noticed I have even less of chance with, but oh well that was back when I just have majority of my stuff as militia. knife for fun |

IMHO, the Breach is currently trash. I used it often in Chromosome and came to find it challenging but consistent. Now it only amplifies Uprising's bad CQC mechanics. |

There are two "Knight Solaire"s in-game. One is spelled with a capital "i" vs "L". The "i" Solaire I believed to be a tanker; I've sent him an in-game mail to confirm. The other, spelled correctly, has virtually no in-game statistics. Thanks for the heads up, Niuvo.

July 18th, 14:00 - Killboard Updated (See Pages 1 & 21)
Killboard Accolades
- DottorBestemia has progressed to Tier IV, having collected over 10,000 kills.
- Sir Petersen has progressed to Tier III, having collected over 5,000 kills.
- Yun Hee Ryeon has progressed to Tier II, having collected over 2,500 kills.
Brothers Found
- Tier IV - negative49er, Knight SoIaire (with a capital "i")
- Tier II - chode ibex
Community Statistics
- The likelihood of encountering a Scout with 20k+ kills is under one quarter of 1%.
- Over 60% of Scouts have a KDR under 2.0. 82.03% under 3.0. 96.09% under 5.0.
- For every 100 mercs, around 3 will be Scouts.
Assumes an active Dust player base of 5,000.
On Uprising 1.2
It can be said with statistical certainty that Uprising 1.2 has negatively impacted the Scout Community. It stands to reason that as a merc gains experience, his/her KDR will improve with time. An opposing pattern has been observed for nearly 60% of Scouts since Uprising 1.2.
Yet "scouts are fine" posts/threads still pop up from time to time. Such statements defy observable metrics.
CCP is aware of our performance decline, as noted by Cmdr Wang on July 4th. CPM attributes our decline to in-game changes rather than an intentional nerf, to quote: "the performance of the game was so noticeably improved that its created a host of phantom buffs / nerfs from everything to movement speed to splash damage that has everyone thinking CCP messed with mechanics they didn't even touch code-wise."
Uprising 1.3 (Late July)
The Devs have recently announced a Logi rebalance for 1.3: http://dust514.com/news/blog/2013/07/logistics-dropsuit-changes-in-uprising-1.3 https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=95412
We gathered from CPM_Hans' report that a single suit was to be rebalanced. I had hoped it would be ours, but we can now safely infer that Scouts are not scheduled to receive a direct buff (Uprising 1.3 is code locked). I remain with high hopes that we'll be buffed indirectly via changes to in-game mechanics. Fingers crossed.

So Logi stuff updates to the most part of 1.3, I sure hope they didnt mentioned scouts because it might be a surprise addition. There are already some people QQing about how this and that to their roles on their drop suits. Then again thats prob because they didnt stick to their role as they should have. Glad I have this one at least majority of the scouts stayed on their unique skills to rely on. |

Our small scout community is not attractive to new players meaning those that stay learn to excel...or are masochists...or both. Id be disappointed if the fate of the class as a whole was based on the hard-learned tactics andor hard-earned success of those who learn to exceed at the role and perform well in pub matches. |

Sinboto, your KD has improved by 0.01 since July 1st. Given your improving skills, total kills, number of daily kills, your KDR should have improved at a daily rate of 0.01 to 0.02. In essence, you've been robbed every day since Uprising 1.2, though you have been robbed at a lesser degree than your brothers who's KDR declined in this period.
You have cause to be angry, Sinboto.

As I sit here with my samsung plugged in drinking a heineken and wondering why the hell my boss called me in today if there was nothing going on, I realized that I'd not heard anything on the cloak in some time as I would very much like to know when this important piece of a scout's equipment is being released, how it works, and other such things I ask you for information.
I shall then make a tread on the subject asking the devs for further information should I need to.
Then get another heineken......

The section "Brothers Lost" was moved to our secondary Killboard on Page 21. Collecting their stats and estimated departure dates would pose quite the chore. Many left the Scoutly ranks prior to the date I started keeping records.

Scout fo' life! Only time I ever plan on changing my suit is perhaps when an Amarr Scout is revealed so I can play a suit that fits my characters race. Did you guys notice in the latest dev blog update the picture had a Minmatar Heavy in it? Keeping my fingers crossed that if they are adding suits in 1.3 that the Scouts get some tender loving dev care. Perhaps an Amarr Scout suit or some buffs to the current suits? I can keep dreaming right? |
