Seriously? I skilled into min commando for ONE thing, swarm AV, not for freaking mass drivers! I doubt MD's will be very useful as AV in all truth even if I wanted to run MD's, which I don't.

I'm not too bothered by the nerf to be honest, I never really used the Mimando for AV since AV grenades felt so much better, except for dropships. Still, it looks like a nerf, and it's never cool when bonuses completely change.

Cal Commando skilled up to proto already, you learn over time in Dust to predict how the meta swings.
Funny actually, since I also have prof III magsecs as well as Cal Assault to proto recently as well.
Oh, and MD's will be glorious. Full damage remember? Protofits says I deal 800 damage a shot to armor and 531 to shields with a 2x damage mod minmando.
With a 6 round clip and rapid reload. Now, I'm probably not going to be nuking tanks from halfway across the map, but imagine getting 800 damage thrown at you practically every second. That's 4800 damage if he doesn't move and I get a full clip in on target. That and I don't have to lock now. I can pop in and out of cover to blap him.

It won't.
It applies to more than just the shotgun. It works with Flaylocks, Sniper rifles (But is useless on it), Shotguns, Tac Ar's, etc.
It works with a LOT of weapons for some reason, you just need it to have no charge up time IIRC.
It's also REALLY situational and hard to pull off.
Here is how to do it.
1.) Equip Weapon.
2.) MELEE
3.) In mid melee animation, press and hold the fire button.
4.) Profit. If done right, you should fire right as the melee animation ends, firing 2 shots from your clip at once. Splash radius is unaffected, damage is. It literally fires two shots at once.
You can't "Hold" the charge either, hence why its hard to use effectively. It is AMAZING for assassinations though, especially when combined with melee damage. I do it on a Min Scout with a single mybo and a normal shotgun. Melee + 2Shot kills almost anything.

I know some mentioned it but i could never find any CCP post confirming it and i needed an AV fit yesterday not in 4 months.
I mainly use my min commando for dropships not tanks, so that's why i don't picture a MD being a very good AV weapon. |

Well, there is nothing stopping you from using swarms on a Minmando still is there?
Its not like swarms are un-viable on anything but the damage bonused suits. They still hurt like hell no matter what suit uses them.
If you used it only for AV, you're missing out on one of the FUNNEST Commandos in the game. Get an MD and go to town.

Perhaps worth a shot. I guess it just bugs me because i like running scout but my AV scout fit sucked, so i skilled min commando for that one situation where i need AV, don't really use it for anything else. |
