These A-Levels are merely stepping-stones onto a university course. I want to study law and become a barrister. English Literature and History are looked upon favourably by universities, especially for law.

It's a terrible American thing. I believe people are assuming you're studying for a degree.
AFAIK, in the US, when you go to university, you study several things. The thing you study most will be your 'Major' whereas the other things you study on the side will be 'minors'.
I don't know exactly because I'm not a colonial heathen, but I believe that's a good bit of it.

Major is when you take what's absolutely necessary to get your degree, minor is when you take any extra classes for ***** and giggles.

I've spoken to a few, and barely know what 6th form is, but the people whom I have spoken to were from a pretty small one. Maybe it's just because of that?

Actually, wait. Wasn't the scout bonus dampening and then minmatar was NK bonus and Gallente range bonus? I remember having both dampening and range, but I'm not sure if there was more to it.

Back then, if you ran Minmatar or Amarr Scout, you are caught with your pants down since Caldari can see everything but Gallente scouts, and Gallente scouts could see a lot with the proper use of modules while still hiding from everything.

Well, to be honest, when I first started playing (Uprising 1.2), I immediately skilled into Gallente Scout because of the passives. This is why I remember having to sink a lot of SP into passive skills just to get under passive radars.
I think I actually found EWAR mods and their usefulness during 1.4 and used the enhanced until 1.8 came about and I needed to upgrade due to OP scans. That was the same time I started running scouts due to how rich I was from running STD all the time (IN A SCOUT SUIT) lol. Fun times.

It's true. I mainly used an advanced Min scout with a CPU enhancer and and kincat in my lows.
Most scanning was done with the advanced quantum scanner. This pretty much did the job of permascanning, so most people didn't bother with a proto scanner in pubs.
Just like now, you didn't need a dampener to hide from advanced scans. I had a double damped suit ready incase the enemy brought out a proto scanner, which was easy to gauge since you get the scanned message.
But generally only protostompers ran proto scanners in pubs, so it didn't really matter what suit I was in, as I would be dead anyway.
Passive scans weren't really a thing, so it was easy to tell when damps were needed.
Now all my advanced and proto Min scout fits are double damped, other than my speed hack fit. You never know when you are going to get picked up on passives, so damps are generally a good idea. And Gal logis are very common in competitive matches.
Though my advanced fit's second dampener is there as much because I don't have the PG for anything else. And it's still pretty nice to have, even if pub match Gal logis aren't around all the time. |
