Yeah.
I meet all the requirements, it seems (including having a passport) so I'm wondering if I should actually go for it.
On one hand, I'm now in a position where I actually have a year in which I'm sufficiently free to be able to put forward a genuine and serious effort towards it...
On the other, I'm not at my peak enthusiasm for DUST, I haven't done a proper threadnaught in a while, and my reputation is probably just that of a random troll, so I probably wouldn't be able to run a decent campaign.
On a genuinely serious note (and the 'crush all who complain' etc etc aside for a moment), would it be worth running?

D'ya think you could still care about the game while having to be awake at ridiculous times for skype calls? Do you care now? Can you be confident and believe that the game will go somewhere? At the end of the day the only one that can answer your question is you.

If your passion is not kindled, don't run. I would never work for a game company, on a game, that I have no passion for atm. Ofc, we all love DUST, but your spark is gone for the time being. So I say don't, you don't want to go down that stressful road. It is not healthy.

I believe the Galscout is technically able to hack marginally faster than the Minscout, but it's basically a case of fitting 4 codebreakers vs fitting 3, the margins are small, and if triple codebreaker Minja isn't enough to hack something fast enough for you there really isn't anything that can.
Two codebreakers and a dampener on a Minscout put you at a reasonably acceptable profile that you're somewhat unlikely to get scanned at, especially if cloaked, and two codebreakers will hack very quickly. You can use a kincat instead of the dampenr if you're confident there aren't many scanners on field and that'll give you a pretty good speed.
The Minscout isn't exactly slow even without kincats though, unless you're, uh, plating it.

Miles O'Rourke wrote:Ideally I want something either fast hacking or stealthy but decent speed. No suit can simultaneously swing high marks in all three attributes. If you intend to maximize all 3, I'd recommend a GalScout with 1 damp, 1 kincat and 2 codebreakers. He'll hack and move quickly enough and will beat competitive active scans (21dB). If stealth isn't at issue, go MN Scout.

This as well. Though the GalScouts profile is reasonable on it's own without the aid of a damp, so he can go 2/2 or 3/1 if he wanted. 2 breakers and 2 kincats, or 3 breakers 1 kincat.

Not looking for max in all 3, just either high hack speed or slower speed but higher damp. Thanks for the advice. On my Basic Minja, I run one C damp (to get there and haunt the point) One Kin and one Codebreaker. I find this well rounded and functional. The lowest possible Damp is moot once you hack the Letter. they know you are there and often the scanners start getting pointed in that direction. One Damp gets you under the lazy scans, the kin keeps you mobile enough. The codebreakerGǪ well that's the point of the hack right?
