Y'know what I'd love to see? A match being fought on one of the floating installations on a gas planet. It matters not the composition. It could be Ice, Storm or even Thermal.
I'd also like to see changes in gravity and atmosphere. Perhaps the way it affects weapons or equipment (e.g. nanites). This will undoubtedly change gameplay dynamics, but I'm not looking so much for a 'wow' factor as I am an 'amazement' factor. Much like EVE. |

This is a game mode type strictly for gas planet battles. I have two ideas. Note this idea requires a special MCC type. It is very large with room to actually move around in. Vehicles spawn in a sort of hangar.
1. A floating fortress assault. Defenders have an outpost of some kind with multiple balconies around it. It also has numerous anti air batteries. The whole facility is protected by shield generators that protect sections preventing attackers from dropping right into the facility. The attackers jump into their fighters and dropships trying to take a foot hold on one of the balconies. AA guns need to be destroyed by fighters and gunships to make a safeish crossing for dropships full of infantry. When landed infantry have to disable AA guns to allow ground vehicle to be deployed inside the base. Then shield generators need to be taken out to allow insertion anywhere on the base. Victory is when key points in the facility are captured or destroyed. Defeat if defenders manage to destroy MCC or hold out for a set amount of time
2. Obviously inspired by the Star Wars: Battlefront II (great game) space battles. Two modified MCCs with multiple launch bays for fighters and dropships. MCCs are large enough to fight in and to fit a few objectives ie: engine room, shield generator, cargo bay, etc. Each side must get infantry into the enemy MCC and disable it. This mode would get some interesting strategies as players must balance between MCC defenders, attackers and escorting dropships to their destination
These modes would make for some intense Air to Air battles and tense dropship rides for the infantry as they fly across the gap between structures. |

A map with trenches, tunnels, an enclosed thoroughfare, etc.. A map inside a giant crashed ship is an awesome idea--I believe someone mentioned that one already. |

A map that isn't a sandbox. The interior of a spaceship with rooms and corridors. Likewise the same with a building complex. Sandbox maps are a tad overused if not overvalued. Not as tactical or strategic as you may think, unless this game is supposed to be an RTS. Which I'm confident it isn't. |

2nd move. I hope this is the best spot.
I posted this in the General Discussion forum, but I guess this is a better place for it.
I have a map I made for this game, unfortunately I can't play it in Dust 514.... but I have tested it in Crysis.
But here is the image of the map, I'm sure no one cares, but it's an idea.
The big flat areas are where the buildings and other objects would go. This is also a part of a bigger map, but I will have to render that area out first.
Just wondering if anyone else would think this would make a good map visually.

A Barracks or a Sansha slave conversion facility seems like a nice change of setting to me. This offers up a little PVE opportunity aswell, mortal soldiers and automated defences. I would prefer to have very little outside on these; when I said Barracks, I meant big enough to house a division or an army group. Heck, you could put the Sansha facility on an asteroid. Your physics engine can handle that right? |

A map on a random planets moon. As your fighting you see raining meteors off in the distance. Another side you see the planet(maybe a gas giant) and this moon apparently has good resources. |

I was thinking since DUST and EVE are linked and some people really like lore you could say we're fighting for the minerals on the planet.(I guess we do it for that reason any way, huh)

I'm going to add my voice to all the others begging to blow up space stations. It would be amazing. One other thing gives me goose bumps. Defending a planet against a sansha incursion. Fight wave after increasingly harder wave to techno zombies that are coming for those you fight to protect. Maybe you can force the sansha dropship away or even destroy it for an added bonus. |

A game mode where an EVE player discovers a derelict facility/ship, scans it for salvage and finds out that the entire crew of that facility/ship has been brutality killed by their own experiments, examples are: bioweapons(space zombies like the ones in Deadspace), escaped aliens(the movie Aliens), or rampaging AI and its swarm of drones. The EVE player then hires DUST players to go in and do the clean up, recover the lost technology, and get out.
Another game mode where a planet, rich in resources, but its facilities has been abandoned due to constant attacks from the planets local inhabitants(bug like aliens like the ones from starship troopers). EVE players then hires DUST players to hold the facility from the constant attacks of the local bug infestation. EVE players gets resources from the planet as long as the the DUST players control the planets infrastructure.
MECHS, giant robots piloted by DUST players, its a must have for any future warfare. |

i think it would be cool to have a muuuuch bigger map becaue when your in the dropships it is very easy to go out of the map on accident...and that there would be weather like rain and snow and stuff like that would make the maps more interesting |

Why are "zombies" always about surviving? Why hasn't anybody thought "I'm sick of this, let's force THEM to survive for a change!" ever?
True Conquest After taking it in the hisec for over a year, CONCORD has had enough - it's time to fight back! A warbarge has been sent through the invader's wormhole, and has deployed an invasion force against a Sansha district in who-knows-what-system. Spawning in the red-zone, you see the city. Dark metal orbs sit atop precarious spires hundreds of meters up. Rounded obelisks flanking the main roads. Everything covered in spikes. It would be a beautiful sight if the enemy wasn't so terrifying. Now they come. Bearing strange armaments and covered in stranger dropsuits, the Slaves march in formation alongside Poltergeist dropships and Terror HAVs. Upon killing a large group, another comes up marked with the same tags. A collective gasp is heard over comms as everybody realizes the shocking truth: Kuvakei has also acquired Templar technology, and likely even before Mordu did. |

Good luck combing the ideas out of this one, CCP. It's going to be such a relief to get these ideas out, even if they've already been said before.
- 'Long-term' missions. Going on for days (ingame time) on end, where one team needs to take a district/installation/thingymajig
- Stealth missions. No MCC to back you up, severely depleted to no clone count, and you mustn't alert the defenders lest they bring back up.
- In congnito. No dropsuit, no teched up aresenal, just you and your compact weapon of choice, milling through crowds full of NPC's and players alike to kill someone - be him NPC of player (in the case of a bounty). This will be amazing if walking in stations is implemented together in the true mergence of EVE Online and DUST 514.
- Immortals vs. Mortals. Little missions played out of boredom or something similar, you fight NPC's that can only take a few hits from anything, and whose weapons are severely underpowered (seeing as they don't have a dropsuit to reinforce themselves from the recoil). Would be interesting to see Amarr hire some mercenaries to crush a Minmatar rebellion. Not all soldiers in New Eden are immortal, remember?
- Rescue missions. A settlement bombarded by a bored capsuleer, and you've been hired by the Sisters of EVE to extract them. Specialized equipment involved.
- Sansha Incursions. So we've seen the space side of incursions, but we've never seen what it's like planet side - apart from those horrific news reports showing bodies floating eerily into the sky. Mercenaries are contracted to save citizens from abduction. Would be interesting to see what the average New Eden citizen of each faction gets to live in (fighting in shopping malls, apartments, food courts, swimming pools, etc,).
- Open world gameplay. The most far fetched and ambitious of all my ideas (which is saying a lot, I know). Entire planets open to the public for colonization and play. Maybe even have some Sims style management (hey, we've already had two games tied in, and Sims seem to do something for anything. I might even like the damn game if they do it in New Eden). Would be true dream material if New Eden opens up to other games like racing games and allow it to all take place in the same universe.
And that's it. I'm pretty sure all of my other ideas have been mentioned before, but not so sure about these ones. CCP, if you ever read this far, I love you even more than I ever thought possible. |

I know there is lots of worlds in this game so you might not always end up with grassland but what happened to a classical grass and jungle map surrounded by water. maybe short water u can move through and a ocean you can drown in our are blocked off from by death zone or wall
you need a indoors maps as well a map where half or more of the map has underground structures and buildings you can move through and get on top of make it so lots of it is cool inside buildings so players are sorta forced to camp at doors and fight in squads.
also how about a space map for the future two ships smash into each other or say a ship boards another and you end up having to fight the enemy back. |

my dream is an infantry only map that happens inside ihubs of solar systems that are vulnerable.
how would it work>?
ihub vulnerable appears in merc quarers on screen, its a dynamic event created by FW and dust merc activity \o/
attackers try to destroy ihub subsystems with a victory resulting in the ihub becoming disabled, this disabled state prevents the solar system spawning plexes for x amout of time (to rpevent enemy recapping)
destroying all of the ihub susbsystems completes the contract
defenders must fight to keep the ihub subsystems intact untill the system leaves the vulnerable state. a victory allows the solar system to spawn plexes as normal.
keeping the ihub subsystems operational untill the system leaves the vulnerable state completes the contract.
IF the solar system leaves the vulnerable state during a match. all subsystems become invulnerable during a 30 second countdown, the map takes this time to return players to their merc quarters via the scoreboard with isk/SP proportional to WP earned during the fight.
pod pilots should be able to track the ihub infantry fight via "state lights" ont he exterior of the ihub, green lights indicating perfectly healthy subsytems, right through to broken/smoking lights for busted subsystems.
i have a lot more ideas around this concept but this is the basic nuts and bolts |
