Role and gear balance
Change swarm launchers to 4 missiles at every level, with 275 damage each at standard, 302.5 each at advanced and 330 each at prototype. This brings it's damage scaling in line with the forge gun.
Change plasma cannon direct damage from 1050/1102.5/1155 to 1050/1155/1260 to also bring them in line with forge gun damage scaling.
Change projectile weapons so they get a +5% bonus against armour and a -5% bonus against shields.
Other stuff you want us to jump on that can have a direct impact on gameplay quality.
Let us pick which constellations we want to fight in in faction warfare. Biggest problem my eve friends have with the current system is that they have to fly all over the warzone to get to where I'm fighting.
Full team queueing in faction warfare would help a lot too. Queue syncing is unreliable and a pain to set up. Right now PC is the only way to consistently play as a full group and I'd like to see that change.

As far as Dust 514, the only change I want to see in the near future is what I mentioned to you guys at Fanfest:
A rudimentary "soft market" in which players can liquidate (sell) the assets they do not/cannot use for ISK value from NPCs. Basically, just a way for us to sell stuff. We don't really need this huge overarching player economy because of how much resources would need to be assigned to it, so the next best thing is a way for us to sell the stuff we don't use and then trade the ISK to another player so they can buy things they -can- use. It's crude but it's a fairly effective method of keeping inventories low and keeping the ISK moving around.
For Project Legion, again, stuff I mentioned at Fanfest:
We don't want to spread the playerbase too thin. Like I said, 10,000 players on 60,000 planets (no jokes, Atli..!) is a bit over zealous and trying to cook up a whole new resource that Eve players care about is also over zealous. Focus on stuff that is already in-game that the Eve guys -already care about-. Stuff like reduced reinforcement timers, or flipping POSes (something they can't do, all they can do is destroy them). Ways for us to actually -interact- with Eve players in a meaningful way that they'll a) give a **** about and b) actually pay us for.
And yes, getting an economy started between the two is an ample goal but please don't make the mistake of thinking that a new resource shoe-horned inbetween the two games is going to suddenly make both Eve players and Dust mercs care about either side when there are plenty of ways/reasons that we can make an impact with what is already available. It would be a crucial mistake and I feel that you guys would be missing out on a golden opportunity to hit the nail on the head with the actual link.
I severely doubt other Eve players (I've been playing for six years) honestly care about planets and the general response when talking with them in Iceland seems to coincide with that theory. I'd argue that the only reason the Eve/Dust link should ever take place on the planets is in order for Eve players to bombard the Dusters on the ground and the Dusters to assist Eve fleets with planetary support. Other than that it's just a big debacle of trying to find problems for solutions.

Biggest thing on my list is the RTS element to Districts, i want to be able to fight on each district and not see the same ole layout, weapons, base nodes, defense, etc, etc. i WANT each district's owner who has upgraded their district's facilities to provide a challenge besides the troops who accompany it. tiers of upgrades, custom decorations and paint, and the ability to defile a district before it flips owners.
Corp loyalty bounty system for PC matches that nets higher reward per "ringer" you kill and special rewards per ringer killed in corp specific storage for bragging rights/propaganda
EVE pilot EMP blasts that restrict movement on vehicles
An "Oh S***" handle for immediate clone re-supply as a bandage to regroup (bearing 1-3+ days left of fighting)
3rd party intervention: on time of battle start a small force of 8 players can fight as vanguard before full team comes in for full battle (separate clone count for vanguard which don't affect full clone count.) both sides can use (long cooldown system)
[all game modes]
more equipment options other than gun, grenade, and explosive (variants of neuts, webs, etc)
battles in ambush, skirmish, dom, fac war, etc need to have a feeling of individuality. ie: ambush feels like a shootout skirmish feels like invading a facility to get weapon control domination needs to feel King-of-the-hill like fac war needs that faction touch to it to distinguish each fight on enemy/friendly turf has those faction strengths/weaknesses PC needs that sense of FEAR, anxiety, and Brutality added to each battle as well as each fight feels like a campaign (longer drawn out battles)
Snipe nearby Pilots warping nearby battle, for KB shaming.
Random parts from loot/salvage drops which modifies gear stats as well as random parts for crafting/discounting market prices.

- I like losing everyday items and only using powerful items at appropriate times. I like taking expensive things from someone I fought against and feeling like my kill did more than just increment the clone counter.
- I do not want "innate rights". I want what can be earned and what I can convince someone to give me. I want to only compete where I am able to compete. I don't just want to earn the gun in my hand but also earn the right to fight where I fight. I want to know I earned it yesterday, and the day before, and that I need to keep earning it or it will be gone. I am fine with human being deciding on whether it is earned.
- If my group has earned the right to stand on strong ground, I want a use for new players and weaker players. There is no shame in being fodder, but I want that fodder to have a use. We don't all need to play together all the time, but we do need to work together.
- I want to hold allegiances and for that to matter. However I want to be able to operate where those allegiances would not conflict. I understand this is me, others will feel differently. The concept is holding to an ideal or concept, but not all of them have flags.
- As someone who has always been a stronger defensive player I want my actions to be valued. You point me at an asset and I'll keep it or force a high price for it. However I do not wish to be punished with reduced rewards for helping the team in the best way I am able to.
- I do not care if others can grind me into the dirt, whether through skills or items. I do care if there is no escape. As mentioned previously, if I cannot compete then I shouldn't be there. If I'm an attack dog then I'll fight other dogs. The dogs and tigers shouldn't share fighting grounds.
- I want a place to try things. Trying new items, weapons, or suits is much less appealing when I can't even fire a round before taking it into combat.

Grit is out-of-balance with Mobility. As a Gallente Assault, even a single complex plate puts me at a major speed disadvantage, and I can feel it very well. 0.41m/s might not sound like a lot, but it has gotten me killed enough times to care.
My reaction time to evolving threats is also reduced, as it takes longer for me to get to the threat.
So yeah, something needs to be done, but it will need to come with a buff of ferroscale plates, reactive plates and armor repairers, as all three are quite the joke.

Fix the bug with bullet impact that's causing the "sloth-effect."
My theory on what's causing it (because surely it can't be intentional ;)):
It seems that the bullet-force, when applied to a character, temporarily resets the force applied by the controller, meaning you slow down even when running away from the enemy (really the hits should make you move away even faster if anything). Even though movement-force gets re-applied instantaneously, the acceleration-delay of the movement controls means you won't reach your full speed before the next bullet hits, again resetting your speed. |

1) Fix the sprint bug 2) Ignore CPM's that want to control the game play 3) Redistribute ALL isk from DNS and former members of DNS OR Distribute 1 trillion isk to all corp who have controlled districts to balance PC

OTHER STUFF.
Adding some limited form of PvE would have a significant and direct impact on gameplay quality. Using a simplistic 6-player (single squad) horde mode as a way to promote Legion would actually be pretty effective AND add some much-needed variety to the gameplay in DUST. |

If DUST is going the way of the dodo then I really want you guys (whoever's left working on it) to pull out all the stops and up the fun factor for it's remaining days.. Pretty much instantly you should let us sell the gear we aren't going to use. There's so much of it and with ISK difficult to get it will provide a real positive. In fact I think everything should come down in ISK cost and making ISK should be easier. Up the sense of anarchy - like a country in the throes of revolution .
And lastly - give us a map editor. We know now we aren't getting any new maps ever - so let us design some. Let the obviously passionate community see how long it can keep this game going with it's own imagination.
Far Cry 2 had a brilliant map editor - simple to use and there were a bunch of great efforts. That game lived on well past it's sell by because of it. If the community maps are good - well there you go, you've got ready made maps for LEGION - play tested.
I love DUST and I support LEGION but I am just not going to buy a PC. Reading between the lines I have a feeling you guys want to and will make a PS4 version so I'm happy to hold out for that - but give your loyal console fans a few tools to see us through.
With all this talk of DUST being a failure and the PS3 not being good enough to sustain your vision it is also pretty obvious you must have done something right. There wouldn't be all this teeth gnashing unless people really love this game already..

Game balance: 1) Something really needs to be done with swarm damage applying properly (there are numerous videos detailing this) 2) Swarms range- Swarms are useless against dropships, as most simply fly out of range and continue to bombard with impunity 3) Dropship pilots- Seems to me that there are few opportunities for pilots to really earn SP- perhaps they should get a bonus or more SP for kills/ferrying 4) Tankers/Turrets- Perhaps they should get less SP/WP per infantry kill and more for vehicle kills Other stuff-- Is it possible to fix the terrain for movement/running? I know this may not be a simple fix, but running/walking/jumping are necessary mechanics for any fps. It reflects poorly on CCP when it's still broken this late in the game. Specifically: 1) Having running interrupted and either stopped or forced into walking by small obstructions/falls. 2) When climbing up the sides of mountains, until you know the map, it can be a crap shoot whether or not the surface is climbable (two surfaces at the same incline, and one is scalable, while the other is not). 3) Randomness of not being able to run all the time, or at the incorrect speed. Also, it seems that numerous skills are not applying correctly- whether it's damage, speed, or armor bonuses. These should be fixed, or the skills removed from the skill tree- since they're wasted points.
I have one main issue, and that's with proto-stomping. I also have a fix for that. Everyone knows that there are many corps that pay their members ISK to play all the time in proto gear, esentially making it "free" for them. People proto-stomp to quickly cap out. This creates an unfair situation which greatly imbalances the game.
I propose that SP earned should be based on the meta level of all the gear added up between two combatants. All kills should not be equal! A guy all proto'd out would earn less SP for kills against people using lower grade equipment, while people in lower grade equipment would get more points for killing people in proto gear. This brings additional risk into the equation beyond just the monetary costs of proto gear, and would help to address the proto-stomp issue. |

You've never heard of "Bullet Time"? Bullet time is when the bullets slow down and you keep moving normally so you can dodge them.
When you get slowed down and the bullets keep moving at normal speed, that's the exact opposite of what bullet time means. It's also what happens when you get shot in DUST. |

Again, Project Legion is still in an early stage of development but the whole idea behind giving a sneak peek at Fanfest is to get early feedback - and I really want to keep this discussion going, show you progress through dev blogs and such and listen to what you have to say.

I sunk 1,000's of hours and 160 dollars (20 of it just a couple of weeks ago) into a game that was in perpetual beta all for the promise that it would get better. Now, I find out that you are going to abandon it!?!?!?!? Yeah, I said it, I've worked in software for 15 years (8 as a product manager), so I know that a small dev team cannot maintain two projects that directly compete. You can lie about keeping development going on dust, but the truth is that you are scrapping your beta for a new beta project. Even if you do maintain development, anyone who prefers PC gaming is gong to leave so all the Eve players that bought PS3s are going to abandon Dust which will shrink the player base to the point where matches won't be playable.
Having my stuff transfer over to Legion is MEANINGLESS because I more or less never play PC games and I will NEVER play a PC FPS.
If you have any scruples, you will refund the money that everyone sunk into dust. Otherwise, you are genuine thieves and i will curse the name of CCP every time I discuss video games with anyone until the day I die.

You want to make the Dust playerbase happy? Quit giving us the same 3 maps in Dom, let us sell useless crap back to the marketplace at a % of purchase price, and give us the racial weapons/vehicles/suits you promised but have yet to deliver on. Funny how all we want is what you promised from the start, and we've waited over a year. We didn't even throw a fit until you told us our game was done.
P.S> Don't respond that Dust isn't dead, we all no there are no new items being introduced to the game. Unless someone wishes to play a game they never wanted (:see any FPS on PC, i.e. Legion) we are guaranteed of a diminishing experience. Thanks for stealing our money and telling us it was for our own good. Gratz on the lack of morality to pat yourselves on the back while doing it. |
