How do I know if they will continue to tweak their PS3 project? To be honest I am just guessing based on my experience with CCP over the last 8 years. On DUST I was here from beta and have seen scores of unresolved issues. CCP could spend thousands in optimizing on this platform but the signs of difficulties of making it work on the PS3 have been here for a while. Remember Uprising 1.0? I guess what I am saying is that in terms of development it will not get much worst then it was until now. Perhaps even better since there will not be any major releases but rather smaller patches dedicated to a smother game play. I mean why not? Keeping the console community around until this new concept is ready is in their best interest because no matter what people say I think PS4 is inevitable at some point. |

PC gaming is not an option for many of us console peasants.
A simultaneous launch on PS4 and PC will probabaly be the only way to retain this part of the playerbase.
This can only be achieved if Dust gets a decent amount of support and content in the mean time.
FU and FU Dust community, you're mostly a bunch of moronic carebear crybabies. Get good.

Claiming that DUST 514 will see "continual improvement", and saying there might be occasional tweaks imply VERY different things.
Are they likely to break the game more than they already have with many of the stupid changes they've made? No. Are they likely to make any SIGNIFICANT or MEANINGFUL improvements to the game ever again? No.
Unless, of course, the whole Legion thing gets either scrapped or reworked into what it SHOULD have been all along - a reboot/re-release of DUST with the core content we were promised all along ALREADY IN PLACE BEFORE RELEASE THIS TIME. And yes, the PS3 should be able to handle what they want to do, and they SHOULD be making a PS3 version of the initial Legion client, as well as PS4 and maybe (ONLY MAYBE, NOT DEFINITELY) a PC release alongside them. |

The DUST prototypes looked about the same amount better than actual DUST does now.
For that matter, pre-Uprising DUST looked better in many ways than DUST does now.
Legion looks like the same promises and the same content we've been waiting for DUST to get all this time. Most of what was promised SHOULD be possible within the framework of the PS3. Some things will need them to step up to PS3 and maybe PC, but for the most part, it SHOULD be possible to make what DUST was always meant to be on PS3 and have it actually work ON THE PS3.
I don't care if they rename it "Legion" or "Squeegly-Spooch" or whatever. But they're killing off a game they SHOULD still be supporting. |

I for one am looking forward to a PC version of DUST. Few hardware constraints, better controls, quicker updates and all that brings.
I can understand the resentment felt by the DUST community, especially how we found out about Legion, as someone that sunk a good year of my play time into DUST and spent circa -ú500 on the game you would think I would be bitter too... I'm not. Consoles would never provide a meaningful experience that CCP was hoping to achieve and for that they should apologise for that in some way, but do I want a refund of the cash I spent? No.
If Legion takes all the good things from DUST and adds in all the things we wanted (such as a proper economy as per EvE), then Legion will be awesome.

I really do think that PS4 is a very real possibility now, i.e. a reboot. What people must realise and what is hard to accept for the understandably disappointed console players is that by succeeding with Legion on their own platform, a PC, CCP is more likely to successfully expand to other platforms.
As far as DUST 514 being handled well by the PS3 and its network I simply do not agree, and have a completely different experience. I actually stopped playing because my PS3 got overheated and crushed too many times. Plus the network froze daily. I guess if it was another MAG or COD type game it could definitely be handled by PS3 but a game that is suppose to work in conjunction with the EVE cluster, no way... They would have to scrap all their plans for a meaningful interaction between the two games. FW and PC is all that they where able to combine and in a very limited way at that. If they tried to merged the markets plus add PVE , LOL the whole system would just melt. |

CCP, can you stop shoving Legion down our throats? Make a new section for that game or something if you want, but can this area be for Dust discussion only please? Even if that means nothing else is said. |

WTF is with the constant fanboy attitude of PC players? You chose a different system to game on, go you! To be fair it is primarily EvE players that act this way. Just because you have a tower instead of a console does not make you better than anyone else.
Before you go ahead and flame me for being a console user, I have a PC also. The only difference is I am a gamer, pure and simple. I don't care what I game on as long as I enjoy it.
Stop using your false sense of superiority to try and make yourself look good. You come across as a complete douche. Actually since we're making statements with no solid evidence, you ARE a complete douche. |

The manner in which this news was released has been a slap in the face to this community that stuck with the game despite its rocky launch and shortcomings. CCP Rouge, you need to acknowledge that. The move to PC is going to leave purely console gamers behind and Project Legion does nothing for them.
As a PC gamer myself, I hope that project Legion can deliver on what Dust514 has failed to provide, but having been burned before I remain wary. What information we have been given all sounds goodd on paper but I desperately want to know if you can deliver.
If you can deliver on Project Legion, it will be a remarkable game. But I am deeply concerned about how long it is going to take to become a reality. Even the vaguest estimate would be welcome at this point swiftly followed by an outlibe of what we can hope to see come to Dusy514 in the meantime.
And crucially, if Project Legion does not become a reality - what happens then? If it is a genuine possibly that Legion does not go ahead, what is left on the table for the future of the Dust514 vision? |

Yeah probably because it was presented via a PC and not an 8 year old crapsole. Dont just give in though!! make demands!! Go get something out of CCP for all this mess they've put us through and all the work we did! even if its some for some original BPOs. or Early access! Why should we just say " transferring over our characters is enough". We should be getting a hell of alot more recognition for our beta testing |

SCAT mania wrote:The only way I'd be happy about transferring over to Legion would be:
If Legion is not free and is based on the same system as eve is with subscriptions then dust players would be excluded (lifetime subscription) as a "thank you" for running Legion's Beta for that last 3 years. If it's free than all AUR spent in dust would be refunded onto legion. Bonus AUR would do well too.
Dust players would receive kickass BPO's. And i dont mean your run of the mill Militia gear with a fancy paint job. At least advanced gear. An officer bpo wouldn't go astray as an "I'm sorry for the kick in the teeth" you gave us. This gear would be excluded to dust mercs only and would never be available to anyone in any future ingame events or on the market.
First to have Alpha and Beta Access even if its a day or 2 before EVE Players.
Transfer of all sp and bpo from dust to legion
these exclusives wouldn't be too far fetched (maybe the officer bpo, but 100 copies of each officer weapon would do).
So look I know CCP has screwed up alot with this community. The trust is gone, The only way i can see any kind of redemption would be to give us most of the above and give dust mercs full acknowledgment of the work they did for this Beta (and lets face it dust was always a beta), like give us a Monument in legion and eve with everyone's names on it.
I concur, CCP has lost a lot of credit now, for some people the rift CCP have caused will be irreparable, but the least they can do is make it up to us.
First thing they need to do is anyone who has biomassed since the keynote needs to be moved to an alternate doomheim named lazurus, allow anyone who biomassed themselves to be 'ressurected' without consequence, whenever they want.
Ensure a memorial wall is placed somewhere in legacy with the name of EVERY Dust 514 player active at the time of fanfest. This memorial should be placed somewhere central, where Dust Players can take pride.
Personally invite EVERY Dust player to the closed beta, all of us, every single one.
Finally a written apology, that says the way they handled this was wrong

It isn't release-ready, and I've gone on record MANY times saying as much.
It's not finished, the code is nowhere near what it needs in the way of optimisation for the PS3.
There are multiplayer games on PS3 running in the same game engine CCP used which have (or had in the defunct cases) smooth gameplay, wider FOV, better graphics and still don't cause overheating problems for the console.
The problems with DUST aren't inherently because the PS3 can't handle what CCP wanted to make. The problem is that CCP's programmers haven't been able to do what other developers can with the same system. |

Yeah, give an item gifting service and a sell-back option for all gear since a proper player market will never be realised on DUST 514. Anything previously considered lore-breaking can also be reconsidered now since lore has no place in this no-future lobby-shooter.

In all seriousness due to lack of livingroom space and boxing up my PS3 I've not been playing Dust so I'm really happy to be able to play Legion some point in the future on the PC. Overall Dust activity is down just looking at server activity it has been slowly dying for a while. Instead of flogging a dead horse CCP are doing the right thing, killing a name which is already covered with so much bad press due to some game play issues during Alpha/Beta was also a good call too.
All game developers mess up and have games flop, Dust 514 was CCPs. Now they get to learn from their experience developing a FPS and make something that doesn't suck living up to the dream that the EVE community brought into when it was first announced at Fanfest many moons ago. |

Prescisely my point CCP has 1 product, that's it, they wanted to bring more people to the universe of new eden, they wamted to bring console players, yet so far they have only screwed us over, if CCP wamts to maintain their console following they need to show us, that we mean something to them.
