Nova Knifers United is fairly dead now.
It fills me with immense sadness to see it die, but also pride as I think back over all the memories that were made in there. I am proud to have made something great, something which lasted so long. Something which, at the time, was fairly innovative. Yes, there was no place for dedicated knifers (not just mere Scouts) to congregate. I made that place. There, it was more than just a Friends of Dreis clubhouse. We actually discussed the balance of knives, suits, and our roles. At one time, in the very early weeks of the channel, knifers were so rare that I was considering making Nova Knifers United into an actual corp.
But now, look! What did I want when I made Nova Knifers Unites? So many more people use knives now! They are more balanced. They are most certainly viable. I remember a time when I denounced running knives as a hindrance to my team. Did Nova Knifers United play a part in that? I don't know. I know that I was a raving lunatic on the forums when it came to knives. I know that my channel did gain a fair amount of publicity and was known by most everyone on the forums. So yes, I did make something great.

Remember when i got invited there, think we were sick of some FOTM scouts BS lighting up SU chat or something. Think that's when i first met you, it took a while to take off i think. I do know you were super stoked when someone joined. I think you tried to filter out 1.8 scrubs from the regulars for a while.

I will give you this. NKU was much more successful and meaningful than the boycott.
You also have to consider the state of the game. As more people reach insane amounts of SP, there is less specialization, so there are few truly dedicated to anything, much less knives. And with the new EWAR and other changes, knifing has been increasingly marginalized.
I used to find it enjoyable and rewarding in most of the builds, but this last is a bridge too far. If I want to shoot things, I can find more balanced, less glitchy games in which to do it.
