Nothi means bastard. So you are suggesting the father of the child, the one that makes Jimmy's status officially non bastard, to name him one. I personally find it ironic and humorous.

I know what Nothi means. We are all bastards, farthered ones and non. We take on a different meaning of the word. We epitomize it to transcending heights. We are bastards, yet we are not fatherless.

I find this an interesting thought, and suspect that boat has long sailed, at least in terms of what we play today. Either way, no we were not wrong, I don't believe in 2nd guessing my instincts a year on. If I'd taken the time to write down all the reasoning that made me feel the way I did, then I could look at that now and say, hmmm yeah that was this or that. But I didn't.
I don't have a PS4: not sure I would buy one for one game, no matter how much I love you all.
I *do* have a PC, more than capable of playing modern games, but not sure I would play DUST on it without the existing community.
Not sure many will be in the same boat; I think I'm just at a point where I'm not sure I will buy another console, otherwise I'd be buying a PS4 this year.

Same here when it comes to ps4, was kind of hyped for it, but now it looks like it's going to be old hardware year from now on. I'm leaning towards buying myself a good PC to get back to those sweet FPS and K/M combo ;)
As for playing dust, it would rather have it on pc than ps4. I really think it would help the game to have it on more accesible platform - pc. I don't really feel like this community is so much different from any other one, besides I feel the community itself changed a lot through those 2 years. |

I personally can't play without being dampened. I can't compete with higher HP without the element of surprise, which I can't do if I am picked up on tacnet and shared with everyone.
This. I tend to fit my scouts with EWAR to hide from and see assaults that use a single PE and PD. It's my baseline, and I tweak it up and down depending on the battle.

And then everyone had to go and cry about it and ruin it. And now even if it does get a port it probably won't go to PC, where it really belongs.

So we're back to talking about legion then? Alright.
So here's my problem with it, the whole ethos behind dust was bringing New Eden to a new audience, a console audience. That was the point. So when they said that they were pulling away from console and making a new game, not a port or anything like that, a different damned game, that would be the focus before it even got the go ahead, from now on at the dust keynote that they mentioned dust for like 5 minutes I was none too happy.
And I'm still not. I'm not a pc gamer, gaming on pc is expensive as **** for both the games and the machine. I'd rather have the some kind of sequel on the PS4 because it makes sense. It's the natural progression for me and many other ps3 users that have yet to get one.
Look, I'm okay if it does go to PC, I never got angry at that or anything, it just means that I'll probably rarely if ever play it. That doesn't bother me, it's just a game after all. I was just hugely disappointed at how **** poor the communication over the whole fiasco was. That's not how you announce a new game, that's not how you announce the closure of an old game.
What're you looking at me like that for? I'll shank you I will.

I think the whole "ethos" was just PR talk. From my standpoint, Dust 514 seemed as a addition to the EVE universe, so capsuleers can finally walk outside of their ships. Sure, new audience, but I feel like it was just to grab some of that audience that still is not playing EVE to experience the lore and setting through Dust to finally bring them to EVE Online.
Of course, that's only my opinion/tinfoilhattery.
As for costs of PC gaming, please don't mention the myth that PC gaming is much more expensive, it's not. You can buy a new rig and play all the games that are currently out there and will be released in the near future. Sure, you won't be able to play games that are being released next year in MAX settings @ 60 FPS, but the very same applies to any other console

It's not a myth. If I want to buy a half decent computer it'll cost over Gé¼400, more than a PS4. If I'm buying games I don't have much option in the physical disc market, so I'm stuck with extortionate digital prices. So no, in Ireland at least, PC is not this magical cheap gaming device.

Well yeah, if you mean "half-decent" in masterracepc standards then you can't even buy a half-decent console with all the money in the world ;)
as for the prices, check out this -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pp1S0cHqe4 The title is 400$ Killer gaming rig blah blah blah.
Posted on 13.02.2015. This PC costs 250$ as of 15.09.2015.
I don't mean it's magical cheap, my point is that it's a very similar cost to a console game. As for digital prices, you'r right, they're out of their minds, that's why I always buy physical discs from ebay/amazon/etc ;) |

Yeah boosters... stack 3 of them and you'll be raking in ~100 k sp a match :P
I never realized how powerful (and how some people managed to out-sp me in 2 months of playing...) untill I gathered 3 of active ones and stack the flux out of them through the weekend

Let's take the processor. If I want to buy that from somewhere that does ship to this country (read: in this country) instead of paying the Gé¼61/69$ that suggests, I'm paying Gé¼89/$100
That's already a quarter of the price and we've barely started
I'm not saying it's expensive everywhere. Certainly it seems quite reasonable in Yankeeland.
