I call it " mediterranean pizza". Had something like it in Greece several years back; I've never been able to replicate the original, but this is in the ballpack. I think :-) The ingredients change a little each time I make it. Tonight, I used:
Toppings: Spinach leaves Cherry Tomatoes, halved Kalamata Olives, pitted and halved Purple Onion, thinly sliced Genoa Salami, sliced into thin strips Artichoke Hearts (marinated in sunflower seed oil) Sliced Garlic, sauteed Crumbled Feta Finely shredded Mozzarella Grated Parmesan
Other Ingredients: 2 Pizza Crusts Corn Meal Olive Oil Sea Salt Crushed Red Pepper Cracked Black Pepper Alfredo Sauce (cheap stuff from a jar)
* Preset oven to 425. Rolled out the pizza dough onto a surface coated with corn meal * Put spinach leaves into a baking dish; tossed with a light coating of olive oil and sea salt. * Prebaked crusts for about 5-10 minutes until light browned (firms up the crust in advance of assembly) * Added spinach to the oven for about 5 minutes (until softened) * Strained sunflower seed oil from artichoke hearts; used this to saute sliced garlic * Pulled out crusts and spinach from oven; set aside to cool for a few minutes * Once cooled, covered crusts with a light coating of alfredo sauce; sprinkled with crushed red pepper * Added spinach leaves; sprinkled with parmesan; covered with thin layer of mozzeralla * Added all other toppings in no particular order; feta went on last followed by cracked black pepper * Baked for another 10 or so minutes.

Arkena Wyrnspire wrote:IAmDuncanIdaho II wrote: You disagree? If you're gonna use a shotgun, cal and gal is better because you're wasting the knives bonus otherwise.
I'm not really sure I agree with this reasoning. Using an RR on, say, a Galassault is very much viable but it 'wastes' the plasma bonus. That doesn't really make the Calassault better.
My point is that the knives bonus is what makes the min scout useful. Using a shotgun on a min scout is a poor choice because other suits scout better.
I didn't make a blanket statement so you can't apply my logic to other suits in an attempt to verify the theory. I couldn't comment on your statement because I don't use RR or Cal assault.
Ghost Kaisar wrote:IAmDuncanIdaho II wrote:Ghost Kaisar wrote:
For shotgunning, I put the suits as follows
Gal > Min > Cal > Amarr
You want speed and damps. Gal can be fast, damped AND tough. Min can only be fast and damped. Cal is damped. Amarr is just tough and damped.
You missed the bit where Cal exceeds at passive scans. Very useful with a shotgun. Get at least one kincat on there, fantastic shield recharge, better toughness than min. Min has to work so hard just to get useful EWAR. Honestly don't think Min is viable without knives unless desperate for best hacks. Listen. Scanning means sh*t on scouts. Nobody in PC damps excepts scouts and the rare logi. Since only scouts damp, you really have no reason to run scans. You would have to be so close for them to effective. Not worth it when you can run HP and survive. eWAR is dead except for Active Scanners and Dampening. It's kinda sad actually. Your Cal fit would be destroyed. You need both of those lows for damps, otherwise you will be permascanned and destroyed. Min scout is a great shotgun suit. You just have to abuse your speed and shielding.
Listen.
I'm not talking about PC specifically. I would defer to your judgement there as you have oodles of experience where I have very little. If you say a min scout with shotgun is a better choice than cal scout with the same, well ok then, but I'm not sure about your reasons. If the cal needs to run 2 damps, so does the min. In that situation then the min can get a speed advantage, but not much: it will only be reaching 9.35 m/s. The cal will have a shield advantage at 8 m/s.
Does that speed make a big difference? Coz in my experience, speed doesn't save you in pubs, let alone PC. Then again...9.35 might not be that quick, but 8 m/s seems bloody slow.
As for passive scans, I like them. Cal scout has a 45m scan range and this gives it excellent situational awareness. This range extends into the territory of optimal ranges for assault rifles, as well as generally giving you earlier warning. It's not just about what you can scan, it's about how far away. This works great for me in pubs. I guess that was my frame of reference when making the statement.
I guess it boils down to whether or not you think EWAR is dead. Perhaps it is in PC. |
