There was tears after the match indeed, but not so much because of the plasma cannon. Closest thing to a dust related brake down I've heard. Originally hit record to get a clip of the dude saying he was a "ccp admin" because that is just stupid to say and not allowed. Quickly realized there was meds that the dude probably was missing.
It was so far out there, I'm questioning if it was a crazy troll on me.

Took on a red face-to-face when: 1. cover was blown 2. width of corridor means can't strafe fire and not cross line of sight with squad mate 3. strafing whilst firing SMG, with Otrera in front of me. WTF. I basically killed us both. Wasn't thinking about friendly fire yet again, so maybe this is a bad habit I can change, in FW and pubs. There's not much point firing in this situation. Not much point firing in any situation when most of your bullets hit a team-mate. It would've been so easy to go back up the stairs and drop down behind the red whilst he concentrated on Otrera. Serious facepalm. Also screwed up when approaching three reds with an empty shotgun. HAH AHAH AH AH AH AH AH AH. Just goes to show how often I run out of ammo. AHAH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AHHA. Now that's out of my system....in other news - taking the Minja out for a spin a little bit this afternoon. Decided to switch the IshNoks for ZN-28s to save some money and see how it goes. Ten or so games with those, and I am really noticing the difference. IshNoks or go home :-o Tied for most kills again. More video evidence of Duncan carrying the team.
Also, DAMN IT DUNCAN LOOK AT ME. I DIDN'T GRIND THROUGH 100,000 MINMATAR LP JUST SO YOU COULD GO AROUND NOT STARING AT MY BUTT.

Strafing one of the biggest things nowadays though. Used to also be Dust's high TTK and lack of aim assist, but AA's been added and TTK's gone way down from where it used to be.

What can I do to change my attitude? How can I stop taking DUST so seriously?
I've been playing Dishonored in the meantime though. Much fun.

LOLFits. Lots and lots of LOLFits.
Play upbeat music or hilarious music, recommended: Weird Al Yankovich - I will jam to White and Nerdy while I go pew pew on some bad guys.
Go pure stealth mode, less confrontation. When the enemy focuses on the points, you focus on the outside CRUs and Depots, lock the enemy in and then go for a strike. I do that when I start taking it serious. Then I just stop taking it serious.
Did I say LOLFits and Weird Al? That is very important. It doesn't have to be Weird Al, any hilarious singers is recommended.

I played a couple matches solo. It was ok, I guess.
I think I prefer going solo; there's less pressure. Plus I can back out without feeling bad for leaving my squad behind.
My only gripe is that the EU server activity times are extremely inconvenient for me, and when I do get to play on EU, it's normally infested with Gallicus. As such, I often have to put up with lag on the American server. Nothing major, really; just occasional teleports. It can make knifing difficult sometimes.

This. Solo is much more challenging, and you can run lolFits without shame
My lol fits:
Minmitar scout, 3 complex myrofibs and 2 flaylock pistols. Speed tanked min assault, knives and a CR (i used this months ago, so fun). Amarr assault, dual scrambler pistols + sidearm damage mods. Run around killing everyone with OHK headshot scrambler pistols. Blaster ADS. Hooking up a sniper to a cal scout, JUST sniper rifle. Place tape in middle of screen and start no-scoping.

In what way would you say you take it seriously?
Dreis ShadowWeaver wrote:I played a couple matches solo. It was ok, I guess. I think I prefer going solo; there's less pressure. Plus I can back out without feeling bad for leaving my squad behind. 1. less pressure 2. back out without feeling bad for leaving my squad behind 3. EU server activity times 4. infested with Prima Gallicus 5. switching servers
1. Can you give an example of what you feel pressured to do in a squad that you do not solo.
2. The only time I feel the need to back out is when....well I guess I only ever did it three times in my entire history of playing. I can only really think of lag as a valid reason.
I am tempted to back out when it's a total stomp and not enjoyable. However, that just makes me wanna figure out how to get one or two kills against rampant opposition. lolfits as Vahzz said can be your friend here, and I also have some cheap fits so the ISK burn isn't too bad.
I worry too that it would make me a lobby shopper...assessing the opponent before the game begins, or in the first few minutes of action, to determine whether or not I should back out. I really don't want to go down that path - doing that just wouldn't be fun, and so many games won't pan out the way you would predict.
When you're in squad, why don't your squad also want to back out? What do they say when you tell them you're backing out, and what reasons do you give?
3. What are the EU server activity times? I'm in the UK (thought you were too) and can play between 1700 - 2200 EVE-time (that's UTC). There's usually some decent action, and weekends are obviously far less restricted. Seems to go quiet on a weekday after around 9pm...except Wednesdays, you can always find high activity on SP cap reset day. My KDR suffers on Wednesdays ;-) Though now I think about it, this may not be as potent as before...perhaps the SP cap increase reduced this a few months back.
4. Yeah they're around a lot. Used to be I noticed Dead Man's Game everywhere. Actually stopped playing for a month because every game seemed to be a stomp from them. In fairness to them, they were the straw that broke the camel's back. I guess you could say this was me backing out...of DUST. DMG over and over again was not fun at all. I just had enough...it may be I just needed a break, because I'm not fazed when I see big squads any more at the moment.
5. I managed to find some games on US server where I couldn't with server set to automatic not long ago. Can't believe Scotty will time you out instead of serving up a match on a non-optimal server - game-killer. I suppose it's a way of avoiding good squads elsewhere...but I would question why you need to do that.
---
Sorry dude I hope I don't come across as accusatory, I'm trying to help your thought process and label things for what they are. Doing so may also cause my own processes and perceptions to change too as part of it. I suspect you (still) worry way too much about what others think, and it looks to me like your KDR is a part of that due to me assuming you back out a lot and that I know the reasons why.
However, when your KDR is as low as mine, and you still play DUST, it's because it's fun, not because you're any good - it may just be there's no fun for you getting destroyed when it doesn't often happen. I'm relatively happy to get my teeth kicked in if I can get a couple kills or generally make a stomp squad's stomp less enjoyable.

So I just finished The Wolf Among Us. It was an absolute blast. I forgot how much I loved this kind of game. I think I even liked it more than The Walking Dead season 1, and I adored that one. I think I might have to push Life is Strange up a few notches on my wish list.
I also played through and beat Titan Souls at a friend's house, really enjoyed that one too. Extremely tight design, it's refreshing to play a game with all the gamey bull **** stripped out. It's just you, a bow and arrow, and a bunch of cool bosses. I really dig the minimalist approach. If you've got 2-3 hours to spare and are looking for a straightforward no nonsense game then I definitely recommend it.
