I would love to see more movement in the air, like bypassing ships and lightning that is visible and noticeable from when you are playing and just not from the 3D overview. |

Vegetation for life bearing planets I reccomend this article about the probable color of plant life on other planets based on NASA predictions: http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/news/1160/nasa-predicts-colour-alien-plants
Strange grass Strangely colored grass (real) Weird cactus like plants Trees (this is a real kittening tree, its so awesome) More weird plants Shrubs Weird pretty plant Bioluminescent plants (could be a strategy to attract pollinators) Weird towering plants More ocean sponge inspired plants Squishy plants Coral inspired plants More ocean coral inspired plants |

Sorry if this has been suggested before, there are 30 pages and i haven't got that kind of patience, but how about an indoor large map with rooms and corridoors being all you can move around in. Thinking in for like gas, water, and plasma planet settings, instead of just the current baren planet outposts. And in the maps, if you break a window everyone in the area dies and that room or corridoor is sealed of for around 3 minutes while repair drones fix it. Windows can only be destroyed with explosives, and of course, vehicles are out of the question in this map. |

I would very much like to see more maps that extend high into the skies, like a smaller map that consists of a huge tower with many cramped, unique floors going all the way up to the top, where there would be a hole all the way down for a good vantage point, think the setting of DREDD. Also I'd like to see maps with more natural environments, like forests or large mountains, because I think that the setting does not always need to be bleak environments with technological architecture. I'd love to see the maps becoming as varied as the Star Wars Battlefront maps were, because right now they're all a bit samey. |

Also just wondering, the cinematic at the start of the latest update showed space combat that didn't look CG and it also didn't look like EVE combat, so I've been wondering if there will be fully fledged space combat as well. |

Someone suggested interactive environments like gates and drawbridges in another thread, and I think this would be really amazing. Interactive environments could be tied to objectives as well. |

I think a map where you're not only trying to survive you're enemies, but the environment as well would be a neat challenge. Imagine a skirmish map where the CPs are divided by a massive lava flow, or a Twisted Metal 2-esque ice world where pieces of the ground fall away. I just realized the first map idea sounds like Twisted metal 2 as well... but I think harsh environments that are unpredictable would enhance the gameplay. Earthquake prone planets, high gravitational pull making you slower, something realistic to space combat. maybe a random meteor strike every 100,000th game or something like that to spice things up. Maybe even throw in some life forms other than clones? Not on all maps, but ones that when players see it, they'll either love it, or avoid it like the plague. |

Forums Veteran wrote:This one's the big one, though. I want to see a well-done forest, and I want to see plants that have nothing to do with terrestrial life. I get that there's only so much to do with individual models, and organic things are much, much harder to make, especially with a low primitive count.
I have never seen a shooter handle a truly verdant area well - something like the forests I grew up running around in, the Boreal forests of Canada/Alaska/the northern US, with close-packed trees, thick patches of undergrowth, and rolling, glacier-carved terrain, dotted with the massive boulders of the glacial till.
I'd even be fine with the more open idea - some mix of California redwood/sequoia forests and the forest moon of Endor, with massive-trunked trees making organic pillars to hold aloft the vaulted cathedral of the canopy above...
Please, though. I really want to see good FPS combat in a forest/jungle setting.
Totally agree. Would buzz out on the idea of running through a forest with bush to cover your you character marker, hiding or using fallen tree stumps as cover. Trip mines would be an awesome feature is use in this style. The counter would be an isk brought mine sensor or something.
If flowing water could be rendered. Rivers or streams to cross where it leaves a player vulnerable to attacks to reach safety of the other side. Jungle bunkers covering strategic points crucial to winning objectives. The jungle or forrest possibilities are endless.
Top of the list though...... Environments that change as you play. Random earth quakes or something that stops players learning the maps of by heart. |

sorry if this has been suggested before but I'm thinking of a map where there's a thunderstorm brewing, part of the map in immeresed in water like say a lake or river, and you're on a wide open plains with a few alien trees here and there. there's bits and pieces from New Edens dark ages like say a crumbling fort or remains of stone walls that can be used for cover. Also, I request maps within volcanic zones where the lava is a dangerous hazard so players have to watch their step. |

Um... would possibly a jungle map be any good? Not sure how it would work (just throwing stuff off the top of my head here), seeing as how it would be possibly cluttered space with not much movement, unless you put giant 'circles' of land here and there. |

+10 to some "Hostile environments" , water, lava, landslides, hostile creatures, explosive gysers(sp), steaming pipes, what ever.
I want to see some damn water, a river with shallows and deep spots, run a tank in a lake or deep river and ya drown, jump in to deep, and same thing.
I Would also like to see some sort of mining world, not fighting on the surface, but fighting in mines/caverns, large and small, some clearly cut by man, others more natural. |

Nomad Attacking a Minmatar planet is no small feat. Not only do you have to contest with independent tribes and hostile wildlife, but you also have to find their bunkers. No, they don't cloak, nor are they buried. Minmatar bunkers... are New Eden's largest planetary vehicles. Epitomizing the tribal way, these gargantuan crawlers are designed to move to safer grounds should the current region become hostile. Equipped with all-terrain supersticky treads on hydraulic suspension, these mobile castles can move their rusty hulks over entire mountains if need be. To overtake this base, you need to destroy the treads, then capture the base before the crew can jury-rig another mobility system.

For inspiration on map designs I highly recommend the Starwars Battlefront video game. A two game series, it is a shooter game for the Sony PlayStation 2 Console with EMPHASIS on large scale objective based battles. Battles do include land and air vehicles. |

idk if this thread includes game types but here's one; retrieve ancient human artifacts and alien alike, set two teams on their own platforms and delve into dark or illuminated caverns/structures fighting along the way, maybe a little king of the hill while you upload the information or safely extract the item. then escort the vip all the way back to the platform giving the chance for the opposing team to reap the reward and satisfy their employers. this could add a nice touch of story to the dust part of the eve universe |

If I could post a topo map I would but we can't insert pictures (prevent memes) so I'll give my best summary and examples.
Here are a few linkable pictures that give a good example of the general geography. Don't worry lonely planet is a tourist information site, they have published books, its reliable:
http://media.lonelyplanet.com/lpi/7936/7936-4/681x454.jpg
http://media.lonelyplanet.com/lpi/21936/21936-2/681x454.jpg
http://media.lonelyplanet.com/lpi/18720/18720-17/681x454.jpg
Geography: Should be around equator in relation to planet. Usually warm/fair weather. Sometimes a hurricane may occur do to the ocean currents and time of year. Should be on a planet that exerts maybe 1.5 g's. Beaches are sandy in coves and bays, but otherwise a very rocky place. Mountains are prevalent but rather small.
Vegetation: Small trees, old, weathered, however still in relative youth. Grassy areas are higher up on the hills. Vines take a liking to the ruins and rocky cliffs that are more distant from the ocean.
Buildings: There are ruins of the a pre-existent civilization that died off around five hundred years before the planet's discovery via wormhole. The ruins resemble a mix of Babylonian and Greek. There are modern buildings as well, one artificial island that serves as a meteoroligical/oceanographical outpost. A few archaelogical research camps. As it is a Gallente (don't know my EVE history too good so forgive me) research post, it is gaurded by 3 NULL cannons.
Special Notes: The roads about the islands can be steep and have sharp turns. The unattentive driver may meet a premature death falling off the cliffs and into the surprisingly deep ocean.
- As the Gravitational pull is stronger on this planet, Inertia dampeners must be activated earlier to prevent a critical velocity
- Dropships may have the upperhand on mobility and speed, but trees and geographic features may hide Mercs from view. However, the scanning feature does not apply here so invest in a profile dampener (I think)
- The ruinous city is tight quarters and multi-leveled. This is a good hinder to the HMG, in that you may trap/outmaneuver the Merc that has an HMG.
- Jumping from an MCC may be dangerous during inclement weather, as the high winds of a hurricane may push you too far off a predicted course
Forgot to mention, this is a chain of islands. EDIT: 1.5 g's is too much. |
