^ These and other indigenous creatures and free-roaming automatons spawn randomly and are tailored in difficulty to a given map's Security Status. PvE atop PvP! Ah! Security Status. If you guys recall the anomaly event, mercs were permitted to select and join matches of their choosing. Keeping that system in mind, imagine if each of the available battles displayed including a "Security Status". This numeric value does a few things ...
* Determines gear restrictions for the match * Determines per-kill pay (Isk bounties) and contract pay rates EOM * Determines rare drop frequency in salvage * Determines the difficulty of hostile AI (see above)

Nothing especially extensive mind you, but it's better than nothing. I remember seeing the trailer playing on television displays at my local Fry's electronics store when I went to buy the parts for my PC (although by that time I was already playing Dust so all I got out of it was a chuckle)
Anyways, marketing for it now would pretty much be just throwing money away. When was the last time you saw a marketing campaign for a 3+ year old console game (that isn't an MMO)?

Here ya go. Close as you'll get Notice the upload dates. Can't keep the yt page updated. That seems like it'd be one of the easier things to do. New playlist coming out (acquisition) pop a vid up going over the thing, showing it off a little or something so and so event happening vid goes up ect. god forbid a livestream lol XD
Just a personal opinion but I do think their YouTube page is underutilized. 2k subs on the dust channel last upload 1year

@ Iggy
Wouldn't get your hopes up on PS2. It has its positives, such as a great game for snipers, but where Dust frustrates with things that are ultimately fixable in one form or fashion, PS2 bores by design.
I can look at Dust and feel like its potential isn't far off, and that if/when it moves to a different system after we essentially work out the balances and concepts here, it can be really great.
PS2 feels bogged down by its nature. Its hard to feel connection to a faction when you have 3 factions and 3 characters and can switch between them at will depending on which faction dominates at the time. Its worse than FW where at least there is LP gear unique enough and some minor penalty for opposing factions.
Not to mention that if you think asymmetrical matches are bad in Dust just wait until the never ending 30 vs 5 battles.
PS2 is good for casual fun to kill time, but it lacks substance.

I also agree that marketing Dust as is is a waste of resources.
My hope is that they use the PS3 version to balance and solidify concepts like FW and PC before moving on to another system where a polished, quality product can be promoted more effectively.

My feelings exactly. I'd buy a PS4 (or PC) if Dust were migrated to it as is, but I'd love to see it reach its fullest potential first. I'm plenty content to continue playing Dust on the PS3.
Also, wouldn't rule out the possibility of Sony making PSN content designed for the PS3 playable on the PS4 (emulator?).

Why would they let that much content go to waste when they could otherwise monetize it? But essentially they already are. PS Now is a subscription streaming service and I think it allows them to retain the use of games more than perhaps downloading does.
At the very least any other options on the PS4 regarding older games will likely compete with that service.
That is why I keep my PS3.

VERY early in my Dust Career.
That time when I was maining Min Scout back in the Tac AR days and couldn't even run Proto.
Got really mad. Threw my controller. Then said to myself "That was F*!Y%_ing stupid", picked up said controller and sat back down.
Never threw my controller again.
However, that was anger, not rage.
I RAGED at FA once in a PC. With good reason. Playing OH way back when. Huge fight over point, we push them out and I run in to hack. I yell "COVER ME" to the three heavies near me.
Lo and behold, No Neck ran right through and shotgunned me in the back.
I WAS F*CKING LIVID. After a few seconds, I wisened up and just shut up and decided to yell after the match.
We won, but I spent a good 2 minutes chewing out those heavies, who had NO EXCUSE for letting him through. It was Bravo point in three point city (RE deathtrap point). They should have put one on each entrance on one right on my back. They didn't, and we got delayed on the hack point and lost a clone.

This is why knife fights are boring 90% of the time.
Whoever initiates has a huge disadvantage. Just dance around until they botch the range, knife them during the lull after they miss.
If I see another knifer, I actually run with knives out after slashing a bit. They normally chase. I stab them as they turn a corner.
Unrelated: Look what I found
Not as weird, but an awesome mashup.

I, Gavr1lo Pr1nc1p, have just officially quit Dust.
It has been a hell of a ride, and I have to say that you guys were always awesome to help back me up, and I really appreciate it.
o/ to all, esp. Ghost Kaisar. You guys made this game fun for me, but GK you were one of my favorite people to play with.
However, I have now just graduated high school, finished my last sports game probably ever, and have come to the realization that my childhood is officially over. I have a girlfriend, two jobs, and working out to keep me busy. As much as I love video games, I think its time for me to stop playing this one. You will all be missed, as will the late night extended arguments over scout balancing and the likes
To the community in general, whoever reads this post, you have all been the most hilariously fun people to troll, and have brought me many great laughs. <3 all of you.
This game has composed close to a majority of the later part of my childhood, and captivated my imagination for close to two years. I have gone from an irrelevant scrub to one of the best PC slayers playing. Its shown me that I really can achieve what I want if I make the investment of my time and self, and I really value it.
To Shotty, you were the one player who motivated me more than anyone else, as you were the one who made me rage enough to start shotgunning, and become a good player. Thank you, and keep being a scout. My last request is that you put me on the official registry, which is what I have wanted since I first visited this forum, many moons ago. Wether you do it or not is up to you. I won't be back, and will never know what happened, so if you don't want to, it doesn't matter.
To the slayers, keep slaying.
To the logi's, keep being bros.
To the PC community, keep creating drama. You keep this game alive, not CCP.
To the QQers, keep QQing.
To the Amarr, keep being OP.
To the mexicans, keep lagging.
To Rattati, keep staying motivated. You are the type of person or people who we need to see more of in the world. The amount of effort you put in to trying to pump water out of a ship that has already sunken under water has been inspiring to me personally, and I thank you for that.
To the rest of CCP, keep trying to find whatever it is you're searching for with your heads up your asses.
To all of the Barbershop OG's, I want to thank you for the rough but warm welcome into the family. I have never felt more proud to be included into an online group before.
o7 to all, its been one hell of a ride.
