i would absolutely love if you brought back the biomass style map where there are a number of objectives, that you need to do before you can advance to the next, then tying that in with say a trench warfare map, capture a bunker, opens up into a new set of trenches and so forth.
another type of map i would love to see would be a valley/chasm map where there are structures on the side with massive bridges going from one side to the other, stair cases going up and down, structures inside the valley/chasm walls allowing you to quickly go from one end to the other while having some window type openings to engage opponents from.
massive industrial settings where you can see parts of ships being constructed, maybe with the ability to climb around inside them and even activate consoles to move the parts along the map.

make a massive tower level, have multiple ranges of conflict, and only have CRU's and Turrets at the base of the tower, fighting up to the top of the tower and defending it would be the mission, as this would be a map for domination. getting up there with a dropship would help, but you cannot drop directly there, and still have to fight your way about halfway up the tower. there will be spaces to drop in vehicles in open areas, but they will not be able to reach another level. |

A city landscape with buildings that introduce a destruction update where the buildings can be blown up and or collapsed. Multiple railways for a fast moving space train that transports cargo across the city. Large open streets that vehicles can travel on as well as get blown up on with a variation of the map but in the lunar dark. Dynamics of weather and sunlight. |

#1 A map in the sky, on a floating platform.
#2 A map in a underwater city. You aren't actually in water, the city is surrounded by a shield type thing.
#3 A level in a volcano or something else hot.
#4 A map in a spaceship! After all, Dust is linked to a game were you fly around in space.
#5 You battle inside a MCC. That would be really awesome!
#6 You battle inside the ship you go into before the match (the room with the big player lists).
As you can see, these are pretty basic ideas, but I think they have a lot of potential. |

It is more like game mod with a special map. The map: small, like ambush maps. Heavy folded field (to take cover#) with trenches (#) like "no-man's-land". With a little fog and some very flat ruins or trash (#). Mayby with a small hill in the middle. The goal: claim the banner in the middle of the map and protect it. Banner stays with the player till death. Team that will claim it for the longer period of time / still have clones - wins. Banner can not be taken with dropship, LAV or HAV. That's all.

Inside-ship map. I'm not the first one that want such map ;) Mayby claiming the neutral ship, with a fall-drop like from MCC on conquest maps, but with landing on the ships docking platform, or better, through the ships broken hull? |

THEME: OCEAN PLANET
Much of the expansive cities are located underwater to provide cover from radiation and to farm bacteria in underwater reefs (EVE PI).
The underwater levels can be flooded by sabotage to narrow avenues of attack. The water pressure is too crushing for dropsuits, and vehicles cannot operate in flooded sections either.
As a map particuliarity, the sides can attack side objectives to shut out regions of the map, example: GÇó a map has NULL mainframes ABC. GÇó B and C are located in their own map sections, while the main underwater city is A. By sabotaging BC, a side can choose to make the battle a domination mode meat grinder if they judge their capability is stronger in a focused fight. |

Outer Hull Spaceship battle. Goal for attackers is to secure entry to ship. Boots are secured magnetically to ship, jumping gets a player spaced/killed. Not sure if gunpowder-based weapons would still work. |

I want maps that have more color them and have distinguishing features that make them unique. It would be nice to mix things up and include a map that wasn't a wasteland. -I would love to see live a tropical forest that is bursting with vibrant greens and blues. -A map on a unstable planet that are bursting with volcanos.

I'd love to see some water on the maps.
A map that has a beach or coastine on it, perhaps beyond the redline. Maps with the ocean visible in the distance if you are on a hill or in a dropship island maps
And that's just what could be done without a "water system"
Ideally, I want lakes, rivers, ponds, puddles, streams, and waterfalls.
I want rain varying from misty drizzle to torrential downpour. You can change a summer storm to a winter deluge just by changing the sound the rain makes hitting the ground. Lightning could affect sensor performance as well as visibility.
Imagine you could vary the water level of one of the existing maps, with deeper water imposing a movement penalty. It would change the feel of the map completely and make vehicles much more important.

I wonder if it would be easier on the dev's part to make a map creator. Rather than them waste time building tons of different maps, just build us the tools to create maps and let the players submit maps. This way we'll have tons of variety.
One a side note, we could then have each map linked to a specific district on a planet. In essence: every district on every planet in every system in every region would have its own unique map (and the dev's wouldn't have to waste time designing every single one of them).
Would this be possible? |

Fighting on ships in space requires a ton of work and changes etc. What if we had a map that centered on a ship under construction? Even a frigate at full scale would be a medium structure. One for each race, inserted as needed based on the sovereignty of the system into the existing maps would be awesome. Of course, more than one is more awesome. |

The attacker has no stand point. The defense is heavily fortified.
Use of remote explosives to blow holes in walls to breach would be a nice touch.
`If used for a Spaceship Board/Breach map instead of Land.
Use of remote explosives could blow holes in the hull causing everyone within the vicinity to be sucked out into space and have a portion of the map section off due to doors being sealed to keep the ship form depressurizing.
`City warfare.
Cities with sky scrappers and industrial buildings. Cars blown up blocking tank path forcing a new tactical route to be taken. Narrow alley ways that a scout might catch an unexpected victim trying to take a short cut.
`Night matches
Flashlights! You can see your target... but everyone can see where you are too. Scout suits -XX% usage for night vision? |

Maps where the capture points are more spaced out alot more and there is more open ground. I think we would see alot more legitimate LAV, HAV and Sniper play on these maps rather then Murder Taxis and Redline snipers that people complain about. |

Bring back that map when Dust514 was close-BETA: you know, that map that had 3 "levels" of defense?
Attackers had to blow up NULL cannons bases, then proceed to the next null cannons, until they reached a city. Map was pretty big with a lot of turrets, railguns, missiles and small one-manned turrets too.
Sorry, I don't really remember the name of the map/mode, it's been a while!

I heard someone mention this, but seriously, DUST battles aboard an EVE player-owned Titan or space station.
It could be a capture or destroy scenario. I think in EVE currently, everything basically gets destroyed in ship-to-ship combat. With DUST you could have it so EVE ships crash-land a Titan or disable an enemy corp space station and send their DUST mercs in to either capture or destroy. Destroy would involve setting explosive charges or taking out key installations, while capture would have much more difficult objectives but would be more rewarding.
Some changes would have to be made from economics perspective so that ISK would still be drained from the EVE/DUST economy despite fewer ships being destroyed (due to possibility of capture). But regardless, this would be an awesome game mode.
For planetary maps, we need more "alien" landscapes. The current batch of DUST maps is too earth-like. I would like to fight on truly alien worlds, with blue/purple lighting, two moons, exotic rock formations and vegetation. Something more sci-fi and "spacey". |

I want to say Snow and ice planet. Make it intresting like blizard conditions were you have limited visablity and you can see but its more shadows. you can also have so the buildings have heat shields around them so in that area you can see but get out of the shields and its white out and you have to start using your radar and sensors. You can also do this with fog. |

Currently, the maps mostly feature regular looking contemporary buildings (meaning 21th century earth). But this is New Eden, and especially in the regions that belong to empire space, you'd expect the style of the buildings to reflect the race that's in charge there.
Amarr: medieval city, with cathedrals or temples or a castle, dark alleyways, underground tunnels between important buildings.
Caldari: industry (pretty much what we have now)
Gallente: open spaces,waterside towns with parks and perhaps a lunapark - or a city resembling Las Vegas for instance.
Minmatar: .. let me think about that. |
