Check how many of each item you're using in total across all your fittings. Buy each item in multiples of that number. Problem solved, by simply paying attention to what you're doing. More hand-holding isn't the answer.

Point-blank, hold R1 and spray hip-fire. Anything else, you want to be burst-firing if possible with SMGs. Also, many SMGs don't bother with flash suppressors, because that increases barrel length, which reduces portability.
