i think acouple of things could really enhance the gameplay of this fps... 1. the ability to lay down as to get better cover. 2. as your running i think the ability to divefire would be awsome.. 3. i think the game mechanics for knifing needs to be addressed... make it so u hit a button within a certain proxicmity of the intended target for an easier time with melee kills... 4. the power of the weapons needs to be increased... it's taking way to many bullets to get a kill in my opinion. 5. adding a throwing weapon has always been popular for many fps's... something to consider 6. i dont have an hd television and i'm having a horrible time trying to read the things throughout the game... words seem to blur and run together making it difficult to read...could u bring the font size up jus abit to make easier on the eye's?
i think dust514 has tons of potential. the maps are nice sized and very orginal...i think it's going great and we haven't even seen where this might go yet.. |

1. Don't wan't, leads to camping. 2. Dive-fire seems kind of silly to me, but there is a discussion on sliding in which a developer posted in support of, so I think sliding might happen: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=19796&find=unread 3. Knife needs to be improved, but I don't think a knife locking on to an enemy makes sense unless its a 1-hit kill knife (which would be overpowered). Maybe just a greater range. 4. I strongly disagree. I think weapon damage is fine, it just takes getting use too. There is always powerful prototype weapons if you want more damage. In a game where it costs money every time you die, death shouldn't be too easy. 5. No to throwing knives if that is what you mean, this is not that kind of game. Do you have any specific throwing weapon in mind? 6. Agreed, font needs to be bigger. Its difficult to read for many people. |

so y dont we jus modernize that throwing weapon idea...say like a laser lance or sumthing...i do think it's important to stay within the techoligical idea that it is space...i wouldn't like it to be out of character of the game itself.. |

It just doesn't make sense why they would throw something like that when they can just shoot it from a gun at 1000 times the speed with way more accuracy. |

i have played jus about every kind of war game to date... thier's no way to stop camping...it can be done on any board, with any weapon in any game... it's the person playing the game that's responsible for camping cus they jus find a spot and chill to rack'em up.. what we need to do is figure out how to keep the players moving...any idea's? it could solve camping...lol |

cus guy sumtimes less is more... as for the knife kills it should be 1 stab from behind and a few from the front to get a kill..melee is always ur most powerful weapon on any game...haven't u ever run out of ammo? |

I haven't experienced much camping in this game besides dropships camping on towers in Skirmish and being invisible because of distance, but I hear CCP is looking into increasing draw distance so people can take them out with anti-vehicle grenades.
Yes camping is an issue in pretty much all online shooters, but it can still get worse. Allowing people to lay down will make it worse. |

But this isn't another game it is Dust514 and there have been about 20 different threads about how the knife isn't effective. Well just like any weapon in this game you train your skills for what you want to do max out the knife and it is almost exactly what you want just a few hits to kill anything except a heavy suit. |

The knife damage isn't the issue to me. Seems like it rarely hits even when in range. The animation is slow to start. It doesn't cancel reloading, so you could be stuck reloading while trying to knife someone. |

i want the function to be able to lay down because thier's no cover system... cover is invaluable in any shooter...unfourentunely it's a doulbe edged sword and i think thier would be more pro's than con's with it.. fact is if u wanna survive u have to take cover to heal to keep fighting...most fps people play for thier k/d and this could be very benifical to that..or they need to consider adding a cover system and avoid being prone altogether. what's ur thought's?

i'll agree to the statement that the knife doesnt seem to make contact even when within range...after i knife sumone to death i'll let u know what i think about it's power.. but my question is if it's supposed to do little to no damage y have it? y not have a laser knife that could actually do damage? i mean everything in the game is space related then u have an old atrifact compared to the rest of the game? |

Oh the knife needs a lot of love don't get me wrong I just don't think it needs any actual damage buffs or anything as with a little.effort you can get it to about 400 damage per slice. At least that is what is being claimed I don't know myself since it is kinda broken right now. |

ive only been playing for a day... however im a die hard gamer...i gave the game a full days play jus to kinda give it an intial yet honest try before summin up an assement on dust...i'm hoping dust514 will put the rest of thr fps's to shame ... i see dust514 soon ruling the fps scence as soon as its a finished product... jus offering sum idea's from perious gameplay that were know to have made those games landmarks.. but anyway imma go back to play...how i love r&d.. |

Thats what damage mods are for. If you are willing to invest the SP and fitting space, then you could get a OHK on anyone up to Type II suits I believe.
But no basic OHKs that are accessible with no drawbacks, that would be incredibily cheap considering my average dropsuit costs around 14,000 ISK each right now.
I don't think you are exactly understanding how this game is played... |

look i understand that the game is skil point driven and how to use the modules... i'm saying if the game going to want to draw many people to this fps that sum of the issiuses i'm talking about certainly need to be addressed...i'm not tryin to insult the game in anyway but maybe u dont understand this is no longer eve... where not using starships to fight each other... the idea of skill points and modules are great i think but for any player starting out should have the ability to get kills and some of what i'm talking about cetainly raises sum red flags for any fps and it doesnt matter what game it is... i'm only giving my opinion cus i've played jus about every war game availbile for console systems.. i understand quite abit more about eve online then you would think...sometimes u have to take the best of things all round from many games and intagrate them into something else entirely... as i'll say it again most fps players on any console play for k/d... |

Melee isn't the most powerful weapon because that would be silly.
Just like it's silly and gets exploited in most games that give you one hit kill melee attacks.
If it's single player, it's fine, but for multiplayer it unbalances the game in favour of fast-moving melee builds or the entire shooting system has to be balanced around the idea that melee is hopelessly overpowered, which in turn requires everything to be practically instant kill, which in turn forces fights into being "first shot wins" and that gets REALLY boring REALLY fast for people who want a GAME. |

1. No they are wanting to include cloaking and laying down and cloaking will give too much of an advantage (cloaked take shot uncloaks yet profile to small no one sees you till recloaks thus encourages camping from distance.)
2. Not sure about dive roll fire but I like the idea of sliding.
3. agree and disagree, first you have a nova knife (kinda like a plasma knife I guess) there should be various knives on the market nova being your basic), if range is the issue perhaps adding a plasma sword or Plasma bayonet to attach to your weapon.
4. Invest in skill books and get prototype gear and weapons this will increase your defense and offense and learning to aim and hit your targets head helps (Headshots with a AR FTW!)
5. We have throwing weapons they are called grenades! However if you want a throwing weapon perhaps replacing your nova knife with 6 throwing knives after all you cant carry a bunch and that would be an upgrade cause I wouldn't care to toss a knife I would rather tossing a grenade at the enemy.
6. I use a HD TV but they should have the text so everyone with or without HD can read as long as it doesn't make the text for me out of whack. |

i don't recommend cloaking in any way whats so ever.... but the feature to go prone for cover... or devlop a cover system... this is my biggest ***** because u have to buy ur suits, modules and gear u think u would want sumthing to help protect that during gameplay...but hey if ur rich in isk what's it matter right? |
