Haven't heard anything about the Minmando getting a different bonus (?). Have heard that +1 slot is on the table; also, wouldn't be surprised if Commandos also got a small boost in speed. As for Minmando fittings / tactics, I had a blast (albeit, in pubs) getting an uplink into an elevated position with a throw-away scout, then respawning on it with a Minmando + CR + Swarms. For this kind of a AV overwatch, I ran damage amps in highs, reactives in lows and a hive.

But not been keeping tabs on any development for commandos either. I run an ADV Minmando with 2 complex damage mods and I can't even remember what I put in the low. I have a feeling it's a dampener that takes him down to 40dB profile....something like that. That's just off the passive scans for any assault without a precision enhancer (41dB). I can't shoot straight with a rifle so for infantry I use mass driver (also because racial bonuses) and plasma cannon. When I want to harass or take out vehicles, I switch the plasma for swarm launchers, but I also have a 2nd AV fit which swaps the mass driver instead. Also has a compact hive. I use him mostly for domination. Fun fit, no idea how it plays outside of pubs, but EWAR is its biggest problem. Mobility 2nd biggest. But them's the penalties for what it gives you. [edit] Every time I load up DUST and look at his fitting, I want to put a flaylock on it as I believe that should also benefit from one of the bonuses. But I can't bring myself to do that with the 2 complex damage mods. Maybe I can try that with the Krin's if I get some spare SP for flaylock skills.

I'm sure I would do the same as my brain works that way too, but the way I look at that, it's removing diversity because there is too much overlap in speeds. Those should be further apart...having the slowest scout the same speed as the fastest suit in the next class down bothers the **** out of me. Same for all classes. It's the same thing Aero wanted to do - symmetry in numbers for symmetry's sake, without actually considering (or maybe they did) whether that will actually achieve balance. I can only hope that the reason the crossover happens is because a suit has a bonus to speed...if those are innate base speeds.....just no.

The concept is sound, in my opinion, and it'd be nice to have logical framework in place. How closely we fit the curve -- and whether or not exceptions are made -- is up for grabs. But at the end of the day, I don't think we should have 600-800HP Assaults chasing down 300-400HP Scouts. Assaults need mobility and speed to do their job, yes, but they can be the very best slayers without being nearly as fast as Scouts. I've played 4 Ambush matches so far, and 2 of them were fairly close fights. 50% goo match quality in Ambush is awesome for Ambush.
