The "starter" fits that you have as standard won't let you remove the items marked in yellow. Buy the relevant suit, and you can edit it from scratch instead of working with the preset. Also, you can edit or delete starter fits again.

I think the major problem is the price - it costs WAY more to use UVTs than to use ANY PC-based voice comms. There are free options (Skype, Yahoo) with limitations, and practically unlimited options with MUCH lower prices than what CCP are current...
