If CCP decides to release a PS4 version of legion, maybe 3-4 or more years after the PC version, will my account be there?
Let me say again that for me it's all a money issue, i still want to play the game and continue my story in this game, but i don't have the possibility to buy a gaming PC, while i would be able to buy a PS4 because it costs less.
It's definitely something we're keeping in mind and if it's at all possible it's something we'll do. It's just a little far out for me to give a concrete answer at this stage.

Let's do a recap, because from what i understand (and i may be wrong) the thing is:
You have dropped assets from Dust in to Legion, slowing the patch to a released game.
Legion is not a confirmed project yet, so if it don't get the "green light" it will never come to life.
At fanjets during the DUST keynote you presented Legion, while is not confirmed yet, and tell the console player base to go **** itself.
We are at a point that Legion may not even come to life, but Dust is now doomed.....
I'm confused.
EDIT:
Forgot the question: If what i said is true and i understand well, can you say US why?
Can you please do a quick recap about the situation Logibro? |

This is rather a suggestion than a question:
IF you go green for Legion (which literally means the end for Dust at some point) then go at lest 80% for Legion.
What would then happen to Dust some people may ask. Well, Dust then has an expiration date. But with the following suggestion the game might be fun for the last couple of months/weeks: Give us the opportunity to either create an alt or to pick an existing alt and give them unlimited SP and ISK. Additionally the ISK-trade-option should be disabled for this toon, and all active SP gained in battles should be "saved" to transfer them to our toons which will migrate to Legion. Of course those new toons would not be able to migrate to Legion and biomass themselves once the PS3-support ends.
This way we are able to have tons of fun, test everything we want to, nobody will complain that much about protostomping and the active SP won't be for nothing

What i think is that Dust is Legion and Legion is Dust, despite some difference, some parts are basically copy and paste (not code, but concepts) and if they have the possibility they will copy and paste some things from dust to legion and other from legion to dust, so they are basically working on the same game, afterall we have provided tons of feedback, guidelines are already traced.

Just remember, the door isn't closed for PS4 (or beyond as may be the case). It's just a door we're not looking for right now.
from what i understand, porting to PS4 would be rather easy from a technical standpoint since it's an x86 machine with standardized hardware.... it'd probably run great for a few years until there's a large graphical overhaul on PC and it will no longer feasible to keep it running stably on the (by then outdated) ps4 platform. it's still worth it for you guys to try though. without technical limitations legion could stand to be the "real" console dust

Go this way: On the EVE Keynote you tell all EVE Players that you got a new baby. Project Adam.
It will get all that EVE has now plus modular pos, 0.0 rebuild, industry changes, FW changes, Wormhole upgrades, full ship painting, ... EVE get nothing and Project Adam is exclusive for XBOX One.
If you think the EVE players would then not do harm to you? Why do you think the Dust players would react better? We just don't have the masses at Fenfest and here.

So, how much stuff will Dust get in the meantime?
Someone else just asked about controllers. How about testing an experimental controller control-scheme that actually utilizes the strengths of a controller instead of cramming fine aim onto the analog sticks, which completely suck at the job? This would allow for a good foundation for having proper kb/m support while allowing players to use the controller - Otherwise, the controller players will be at a huge disadvantage. It would also make nice headway for a possible PS4 port, especially if you intend crossplay. There have been a few very good FPS control schemes that made good use of controllers, but they never catched on for some ******** reason. Controllers simply don't allow for the same pace as kb/m and I would be disappointed if the PC version of Dust didn't get an upped pace, with faster scouts and the like. Side note: Would we get joystick support for possible additions to the vehicle roster, like fighter craft?
And yes, this question is basically a non-sequitur.
Other than that, I wonder who thought it would be a good idea to tell the fans "go to Iceland and you will see the future of Dust! You will see something big! Also, here are Omega boosters!" and then having a 15 minutes keynote that wasn't about Dust. In addition, the other two keynotes should have started with "This is about Legion" and not "This is about Dust and Legion, but MOST applies to Legion", with a statement at the end that clarified that, no, Dust won't get the new skill tree and suit BPOs. Had you done it in ANY other way, no one would be enraged. The hostility is not because of Legion, but because of this simple play with expectations. Had your people gone on stage and said "We can't work with the PS3 and are giving up on Dust. Here is our new project, on PC - And this time, we will be able to keep our promises. Don't worry, your accounts will continue in this new game and we will invite you all to the Beta", no one would have been angry. Sure, a few people genuinely can't get themselves a suitable PC, but I bet most don't have trouble with that. Now I always have to wonder how I should react if you hype anything at all. And what happens if Legion ISN'T greenlit? Does Dust lose its future entirely? Is that the situation where our accounts and investment won't be able to be retained?
I also wonder about the hacking situation. I mean, you are experienced on PC with EVE, but hacking on an FPS is on an entirely different level from games with indirect controls. |

Garrett Blacknova wrote:CCP Saberwing wrote:Garrett Blacknova wrote:First off: How did the plan to ramp up AUR sales while NOT telling the playerbase about this get by without SOMEONE breaking the news to us?
I've tried to make this super clear - we will do whatever we can to transfer over your investment in DUST. That means names, skills, items, etc - where possible. The only reason I say where possible is because progression, skills and items are being looked at and there's no guarantee that they will be in Legion. In that case, we would do our best to find some other way of protecting that investment. I'm sorry, but that WASN'T what I was asking. I was asking WHY YOU KEPT QUIET, not whether you're planning to transfer the content into a new game which many players aren't going to be at all interested in because it's not on either of the platforms we had been told the game would be supporting in future. So, once again, HOW DID THIS NOT GET LEAKED WHILE PEOPLE WERE BEING SHAFTED IN THOSE SALES? Thanks |

I was afraid to hear that. Would release be the earliest the game could be considered "healthy"? Or would it be possible for it to be healthy in beta and then the Ps4 "door" would be looked at? The smaller the gap the easier, though I understand there would be limitations. I'm doubtful that we would be comfortable looking at the console door again before release. i'm doubtful you'll get much support for legion.
I think they should stay away from consoles. Their games cannot compete with what is going to be available. They are better off sticking with the small player base they are already catering to. |

CCP Logibro, Saberwing,
Considering I have put hundreds of dollars into this game in the span of approximately 6 months, I would love to know whose idea it was to purposefully make that last Aurum sale push despite the fact that Dust was basically starting to be closed down.
I don't hold Saberwing or you accountable for that as it appears both of you just interface primarily with us here in the forums, just so you know, but I am not enamored with with CCP's recent business practices at all and I find them rather deceptive in nature which to me is unacceptable. There is a difference between a false pretense versus an unknown situation or development.
I also would like a concrete statement from CCP to where my money essentially went/will be going. By this I mean that for the character transfers to Legion, I want to know what that exact SP "exchange rate" is going to be and why. Right now my lack of trust for CCP runs high, so I want to know exactly what all that booster money bought me. If you guys end up taking about 1/10th 1/4th, or whatever a percentage of my current SP from this game, I would expect some sort of Aurum refund to accompany that as well. The reason for that is that now in my eyes, the full SP from the boosters that I have paid for would no longer be viable if the SP is only a percentage of what it is now. I would only be receiving a certain percentage of the SP that I technically paid for through active and especially passive boosters.
Also, coming back to Dust 514, with Legion expecting to take at least another year for development before a beta can be opened, what are the specifics for Dust in the immediate future? I have heard that there are to be no more content updates for it, yet there will be bug fixes, etc. Why would CCP not even bring in small amounts of new content, such as the finishing of racial weaponry? Given the fact that Legion will be unavailable for a significant amount of time, what do you plan on doing to hold people's interest with Dust until Legion becomes partially operational?
I have given serious thoughts to taking up Legion when it comes out, but between the uncertainty revolving around the rest of Dust 514 and the recent events which have happened, I have serious doubts.
Thank you

So, answering directly to your question, no. Dust as is would never be a good competitor in fps on consoles. But that's why they should develop Legion on ps4! This was the plan, just stick with it.
Actually, when DUST was announced this: Quote: how would Eve players feel if they were told that a version of Eve with awesome cool stuffs was going to be developed on, let's say, PS 5 and left you with a "but you can still play Eve on PC, no worries!". Jita wouldn't simply burn, it would implode.
was exactly what what happened in EVE, minus the "shooting the Amarr statue" part.
EVE players were mega-pissed that Dust was going to be on PS3 (well, the vocal minority was). They couldn't believe that CCP would do something so unimaginably stupid as trying to expand into consoles.
