Spademan wrote:Look CCP, maybe you had a good reason for this, but how are we to know when you haven't said anything? We've had one dev make a few passing comments on character transfers, that's it. Do you know how that makes us feel? Look at the forums, they've exploded, it's not healthy. Please, just tell us something, anything.
What you did is not ok, but maybe we could understand if you just speak up.
Explaining EVE United would help as well, there are a view confusions and a lot questions.

I understand where your concern is coming from here, but this is a question that we cannot answer in any form. CCP Does not disclose it's financials. your so called financials... came out of our pockets .. only because we were told it was being invested into THIS GAME U GUYS ARE REAL GET OVERS.... BUT YOURE COOKED ! AS IN .. RING THE BELL .. YOURE DONE!*
Don't forget the 10 years plan and the laser focused on PS3. This statements give a lot of people a reason to invest heavy in to this game.

If you are coming back to this, can you or one of your co-workers explain a little more about EVE united? Will we be able to fuse our mercs in to our EVE Online pilots? Are we going to the AUR on a monthly basis if we have a subscription active in eve? Valkyrie is coming to PS4 as well, how are accounts going to work together?

@John Surratt
I like the wall of text you put together. I honestly think that if CCP would come on stage and admit that they are starting to work ob PS4 due to request and willingness to keep the console players, a lot of people (me included) would be tamed a lot more.
Working on the PS4 and PC at the same time would even have some benefits.
One could be the avoidance of a head-start of the PC. The following console guys would have a extremely hard time to pick up the progress. The second thing is that they could figure out a way for the controls. A game pad will always loose to a raw M/KB input, there is nothing to sugarcoat. And now try to catch up with the head-start of the PC players.
Saying this I still believe that having one pool would be the best option, do not split console and PC people. But I can't tell HOW to find a path where a controller can last against a M/KB. May be a stronger aim assist, by only suggesting this I can already hear the "PC-Masterrace" idiots cry out.

Now Legion is PC and suddenly the console traditionalists are saying 'Make a PS4 port, balance it so I can use a controller'
I really feel for those of you who are console only, but after the amount of grief and issues trying to work a controller and a KB/M into dust, ending with the nearly unusable KB/M we have now... why make that mistake again?
Unusable KB/M? Just because it is not a raw Input it's not automatically broken.

As far as PS4 vs PC, we went with PC because that's what we've worked more with in the past. There are also fewer hoops to jump through when developing for PC compared to a console. I'll be honest, Sony has done amazing stuff and removed a lot of red tape for us with DUST, but it's still not a simple process.
Just remember, the door isn't closed for PS4 (or beyond as may be the case). It's just a door we're not looking for right now.
from what i understand, porting to PS4 would be rather easy from a technical standpoint since it's an x86 machine with standardized hardware.... it'd probably run great for a few years until there's a large graphical overhaul on PC and it will no longer feasible to keep it running stably on the (by then outdated) ps4 platform. it's still worth it for you guys to try though. without technical limitations legion could stand to be the "real" console dust so ccp might be asking themselves "is it worth it to port to consoles?" the answer is yes since you'll be one of like, three worthwhile f2p console games
I call this nonsense, in so many points, that I simply don't have the time to point it all out.

I will do my darn best to get you an answer to this once we know. I promise.
Seeing the Idea of EVE United, is there ANY doubt about the green-light? Or should I ask, what are the criteria for a approval, what could possible hinder it?

And besides that I guess that Dust will stay around for a while for FW, which won't be, if I got that correctly, be implemented in Project Legion from the beginning.
Yes, that is absolutely the plan. While I can't promise it'll be to the same level as the guys on EVE (they're a much bigger team, working on a game that has already launched...) I'll be doing my best to get more community interaction going. Livestreams, behind the scenes videos, AMAs, etc :)
Screenshots or photos now and then would help as well. (photo of a ps4 development kid for example...)
