Can you give us some estimates for the PC requirements to play Legion. I mean legion being in PC is just pissing me off. As a console player I have to pay even more for a PC. Now I have to buy a PC that costs roughly $800-1000 compared to a ps4 that costs only $400.
Also, what happened to racial vehicles and other stuff you guys talked about during FF 2013. Will this come to dust or legion?
Furthermore, Can you guys give some hope for the ps4. I mean dust is a console game and it's meant to be that way. You'll save so many players from leaving if you give the ps4 a chance.
ALSO, What happens to player who actually spent a substantial amount of money on dust 514 ( aka test game for legion) and considering to not play legion. What happens to them. Please answer my questions CCP.
So sad there is no future for Dust 514 ( the only game I appreciate playing). Now my corp and the community is at crisis.

CCP Logibro, Saberwing,
Considering I have put hundreds of dollars into this game in the span of approximately 6 months, I would love to know whose idea it was to purposefully make that last Aurum sale push despite the fact that Dust was basically starting to be closed down.
I don't hold Saberwing or you accountable for that as it appears both of you just interface primarily with us here in the forums, just so you know, but I am not enamored with with CCP's recent business practices at all and I find them rather deceptive in nature which to me is unacceptable. There is a difference between a false pretense versus an unknown situation or development.
I also would like a concrete statement from CCP to where my money essentially went/will be going. By this I mean that for the character transfers to Legion, I want to know what that exact SP "exchange rate" is going to be and why. Right now my lack of trust for CCP runs high, so I want to know exactly what all that booster money bought me. If you guys end up taking about 1/10th 1/4th, or whatever a percentage of my current SP from this game, I would expect some sort of Aurum refund to accompany that as well. The reason for that is that now in my eyes, the full SP from the boosters that I have paid for would no longer be viable if the SP is only a percentage of what it is now. I would only be receiving a certain percentage of the SP that I technically paid for through active and especially passive boosters.
Thank you

Unfortunately, considering that Legion is only a project at a moment that hasn't even received a green light right now, not even CCP knows what the specs will be once Alpha/Closed-Beta testing arrives. I would err on the side of caution and expect mid-range system requirements at the very least.

@CCP LogiBro @CCP Saberwing
I commend you guys for having the balls to come down here and face us. I don't think there is ever going to be enough fire-resistant suits or that SPF 9000+ will be enough to protect you from the flames we are throwing at you here.
Honestly I'm not bummed out over the fact that Dust will be moving to the PC. It's just the manner in which CCP Rouge presented Legion that really put me off. If he had done a better job at presenting Legion, none of us here would be pissed at CCP. Or at least far less angry than we are now. But the damage is now done and damage control will not help.
If I can make a personal request to you, go to Hilmar personally for us and tell him that the Dust players (what's left at least) want CCP to green light Legion ASAHP (as soon as humanly possible). Hell, if he so much as wakes up from his bed the next morning he should green light it right then and there. The cat is pretty much out of the bag and the genie is already out of the bottle at this point. Might as well go all the way.

CCP Saberwing wrote:Garrett Blacknova wrote:First off: How did the plan to ramp up AUR sales while NOT telling the playerbase about this get by without SOMEONE breaking the news to us?
I've tried to make this super clear - we will do whatever we can to transfer over your investment in DUST. That means names, skills, items, etc - where possible. The only reason I say where possible is because progression, skills and items are being looked at and there's no guarantee that they will be in Legion. In that case, we would do our best to find some other way of protecting that investment.
That doesn't answer the question put to you Saber.
Why did you ramp up AUR sales knowing there was an announcement that Dust was being canned? More a question of morals rather than the obvious financial reasons. An opportunity to win some trust back here Saber. If you can give a good answer. If the answer is "we wanted more money" then perhaps just keep quiet or carry on dodging the question.
People's trust in CCP has taken a drastic nosedive as a result of the way this news was delivered and the way you've handled the responses here. You've lost the possibility of a large player base wanting to come with you to a new platform because, quite frankly, we don't trust you to get the job done or keep us in the loop.
I understand (hopefully most do) that there are limits to working on the PS3 but you can't make a good game without accepting some limits and working within them. You hold on to the other ideas for when the next gen consoles give you opportunity to pursue them. You don't split your team to work on a new project and still claim to be dedicated to progressing the original one. The consequences were felt in buggy fixes and patches ever since. If you were truly committed to developing an exciting cross-platform experience you could have done so much more but only by getting the team to work on it not splitting them.
I honestly don't think you get why people are so p***ed at you guys. Start giving some honest answers and explanations if you really do want to keep some of your current player base. I suspect they don't matter much to you as I get the impression you think a new platform will mean a totally fresh start with this game and a new player base. Someone needs to go to business school I think. |

I will admit that there have been issues in messaging, and we're going to be clearing up as many facts and answering as many questions as we can over the next few days.
As far as PS4 vs PC, we went with PC because that's what we've worked more with in the past. There are also fewer hoops to jump through when developing for PC compared to a console. I'll be honest, Sony has done amazing stuff and removed a lot of red tape for us with DUST, but it's still not a simple process.
Just remember, the door isn't closed for PS4 (or beyond as may be the case). It's just a door we're not looking for right now.
I just want to say, this is a decision that must be made soon. People can't be strung along this time. And if you do go for the Ps4, it must have a final release no more than a week after the PC. Otherwise the people that left likely won't come back. (I know they're a relatively small number, but they were loyal, and may be again) I can already say that PS4 will not be an option parallel to Legion on PC before release. We'll only look at that door after we're comfortable on PC, as we want to get the game itself in a healthy state first.
Not the answer we wanted but honest. Thank you. |

Your Saber is maybe better, i mean it like how you let that shitstorm felt on your face, what honestly little impresed me, but overall CCP still betrayed our community and that WILL NEVER FORGIVE AND FORGET.
Just in some small words in the end, PLEASE GIVE BOYOS FROM PS3 CHANCE TO TRANSFER THEIR PERSONAS, show them respect.

I'm sure any reserve AUR you have will be exchanged 1:1, and items bought with AUR would be refunded in their AUR purchase price, but since SP exchange rate is up in the air, buying boosters (one of the main things people purchase AUR for) is pointless since we don't know if the SP we get from the booster will be worth the cost.
One more thing, a friend of mine in Dust (Jax Thrife) bought over 30 merc packs in closed beta and both the Veteran and Elite packs. Then spent all of his AUR on booters and activated every booster he had. When Dust dies, how will he be refunded for his remaining booster time?

Why are you buying anything in F2P game at all? Do you think it is an investment for some time down the track when the game will be better? Do you enjoy the game now? Do the Aurum item/boosters you buy make the game more fun for you in the short term?
If you enjoy the game, play it. Plenty of other people still are and CCP has said it plans to keep it going in the near future. Legion will be a a minimum a couple of years away from a release. Any company that guarantees their game will still be around more than a couple of years in advance are lying to you. There are no guarantees in this industry. If you think Aurum items and the extra SP from boosters will be fun for the next year or so then buy them.
There are plenty of posts around the forums that Dust is dead. Why? They have not announced it is shutting down. They have announced that the features that people have been daydreaming about for the last year or so will not be added. So what? If you do not enjoy this game and only play it because of some promised future feature that is no longer coming then you're an idiot. Play the game if you enjoy it and leave if you do not. There is still over 4000 players at peak each day on the server having fun. At most there are a couple of hundred people posting about how Dust is ending and how horrible it is that CCP is not giving them a whole host of features that would never work in the current game anyway. All the angry posting and whining going on here is as usual a vocal minority of at most 5% of the player base.
Anyone with half a brain can understand why most of the features mentioned for Legion will never work in Dust without virtually restarting it. |

Now, I'm going to ask you guys this in a very respectful manner, even though I am VERY disappointed by your business practices. You may win some but NOT ALL, of us back.
1.) EVE: Legion is (essentially) the successor of DUST 514 where you had around 3-4 years testing/ working on it, why is this now only being allowed to the infrastructure of PC, instead of PC/PS4 (cross play)?
2.) Why even have it on PS3 in the first place, if majority of your playerbase stem from PC?
3.) Why even put EVE: Valkyrie on PS4 if it's (again) aimed towards your PC crowd?
4.) Why did you unveil EVE: Legion at FANFEST when you knew fully well this would have this big of an impact?
5.) What are these "New Roles" categorized into? Will it be like how Battlefield is? Assault=Medium Suits, Recon= Scout Suits lock to specific ONLY weapons/gear. Or how we have it now?
6.) How will modules translate into EVE: Legion?
7.) Now that framerate/ optimization run at a smooth 60fps....Can we run.....Faster? >_>
8.) Will Stun-Locking (Impulse effect) make a return? If so, get rid of it. (Please) |

Anyways.
I would like to think they would take all unconsumed AUR assets, revert them to AUR, then transfer the AUR to your Legion character. Since those boosters are in the queue, they haven't been consumed, and thus should be subject to a refund.
Obviously that's just speculation, but seems like the most logical outcome.

And that question is DID CCP USED COMMUNITY MONEY and OUR IDEAS ON DUST2.0 aka LEGION?!
Of course they did, because Legion is going to be everything DUST is not and never can be due to hardware obsolescence, architecture limitations, and early bad decisions in game design.
Actually, they used the money from my years of EVE subscriptions to fund development of DUST, and the money that DUST put back in to the pot was a drop in the bucket compared to what was spent on making it. . .
I doubt CCP separates the money in the corporate accounts like that, any more than they separate money made from selling the occasional White Wolf product. Ask the WoD fans about disappointment. I know I don't separate the dollars of my wife's direct deposit from "my" dollars in the checking account. . .
So if "your" DUST ideas went into making Legion (which I am truly truly hoping fulfills the idea & vision CCP first presented as to what DUST was supposed to be) plus my half decade plus of subscription money that paid for DUST bear fruit, I will consider Legion payback for bankrolling "your" game.

Interesting.
Especially interesting is this chunk from the article:
Quote: We did all of these things to try and, we tried to do too much honestly in terms of connecting it into the universe and thereGÇÖs this MMO piece and all the rest of it, blah blah blah, as opposed to, 'I have a blast second to second. I love this game second to second and I love it minute to minute, hour to hour, and so on and so forth.'"
One interpretation of that can mean,
"yeah, turns out integrating stuff is hard. So, we're just going to do a straight-up FPS, ya know?"
Suggestion to folks out there who might have CCP stock, if such a thing exists: Sell now. It would appear the company has lost all "vision". Usually that means the company in question will become a market follower, rather than a leader, and thus either get bought out, or simply go out of business, in a few years. The smaller the company, the faster that usually happens.

Very true. But when they looked in detail at those things they saw that it would require a fundamental rewrite of the underlying structure and motivations of the game. People throw around terms like Player Market and Player Driven Economy without understanding how they are fundamentally different. A Player Market is little more that a frontend to allow players to trade items they already have and at least one Dev post since Fanfest has mentioned that they still plan to deliver this for Dust. A Player Driven Economy is not something you can simply patch into what is essentially a Lobby Shooter. You need to have an underlying mechanism for harvesting and/or manufacturing along with sufficient motivation to do so. Engaging in PVE as a valid and rewarding alternative to PVP needs again a sufficient reason to do so alogn with balanced risks and rewards.
Whilst you could tack these things onto the current gamemodes of Dust it could never be properly integrated with the sandbox style economy of EVE which was the overall goal. The Dust economy needed the underlying sandbox structure along the ability for PVP focused individuals to come along and ruin your day. Otherwise it would create an imbalance in the EVE economy due to the risk/reward imbalance which must be viewed on a significant scale to understand the effects across such a large game structure. Turning a lobby shooter like Dust into a sandbox style interaction environment means essentially starting again. Given that, CCP made the right call and said "OK. Instead of continuing bandaid fixes that we know won't work, let's start again from the ground up.".

If you are coming back to this, can you or one of your co-workers explain a little more about EVE united? Will we be able to fuse our mercs in to our EVE Online pilots? Are we going to the AUR on a monthly basis if we have a subscription active in eve? Valkyrie is coming to PS4 as well, how are accounts going to work together?
