This is the sort of thing I expected to Scout LAV to have back in the day. I think in general the idea of using LAVs for actual....you know, attacking, is a good one.

Yeah short range and lower fire rate are not beneficial. "Breach" variants as well as the normal Rail Rifle are designed to be more effective at long range.
