It has reduced range, shoots as fast an assault combat rifle. Has high damage per round, reduced ammo per mag, about 250.

Breach weapons have higher range, higher damage per shot, lower magazine capacity, lower rof.

Yeah short range and lower fire rate are not beneficial. "Breach" variants as well as the normal Rail Rifle are designed to be more effective at long range. |

just to put this out there guys. in ccp eyes... lol.... breach is cqc and means less range, less rof, higher damage, lower dps if they can get away with it.

Breach Assault Rifle is 7400 and Assault Rifle is 7000
Rail Rifles by their nature are "Breach" weapons with a range of 10000, with the Assault Rail Rifle at 9700.
So in those two cases "Breach" versions are longer range than "Assault" versions. |

Looking at a bigger picture, Breach weapons typically have a lower DPS in exchange for ammo efficiency, since they have the same ammo reserves as the normal variant.
I'm totally into an HMG that has longer lasting ammo.

Or you could use the burst which is really quite similar to other breach Variants.

From what I can tell, Breach means a lower rate of fire and higher damage for individual round. I donGÇÖt think CCP has been consistent on range.
I used to like using the Breach SMG, particularly the difference in the sound. With a much slower rate of fire it was very important to insure that every round hit. The Breach SMG seemed to be less of a spray and pray weapon as a result.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.
