It's ridiculous period, it makes the Laser Rifle and the Mass Driver terrible. Why the hell is the RR losing nothing outside of optimal, while these 2 weapons are garbage outside of optimal and they still lose in optimal to the RR ?

You need a squad if you're on the ground or elevation if you're solo(which means dropships most of the time). If you're on the ground without a squad backing you up, prepare to get owned by proto suits with Rifles, even in 1v1 situations.
