Thats a good point, an SMG only has a little less DPS than an AR, whilst still being very easy to hit consistently due to high RPM with hipfire. As a result, get a prof5 3dmg mods ishukone assault SMG and compare it to a prof5 3dmg mods MD, i guarantee you'll say f*** the MD, not because the MD sucks at all, but because the full auto weapons like an SMG are just so good.

The MD itself isn't bad, the rifles are just OP, and as such, have made people brick tank, which severely inhibits a weapon balanced for consistent DPS like the MD.

I still use it from time to time to clear out grenade spammers and lag rooms, but the armor buff, weapon ranges, and short TTK makes it more situational than it should be. I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

But the Mass Driver, is good for many things that the smg isn't, or can't do, like hit around corners for example. Minmatar Assault. Mass Driver user. I love when you stack armour. There used to be sooooo many MD is OP or noob tool threads and I never understood why because I could usually get more kills with an AR than an MD and I am not good at aiming.
