Frost was getting tired of many things while in this city. He was simply tired of walk for what felt like days, he was tired of the perpetual dusk the city seemed to have, he was tired of the fog that seemed to creep like some kind of animal trying to hunt him. But mainly, he was tired of pyg. The beast would complain about everything around him. "I miss my territory..." The the giant murder-pig- child groaned, again for the up tenth time in the last five or so minutes. "...pyg..." The shade hissed, again for the up tenth time. "....shut...up...." And again an argument, started for the umpteenth time in five minutes. Out of everything frost was tired of I the city of the dead, the only two living things he had met annoyed him the most. He was going to contemplate how well he would do on his own when a noise stopped everything around them. It was a deep, pained groan that shook frost bones. Sadness dripped from the groan, like blood from a wound. Frost trembled, the noise that followed the groan was even worse. The sound of chains and dragging metal assaulted his ears, a chorus anguished accompanied these sound. And when frost thought it couldn't be worse the being that was so anguished appeared. A giant the biggest giant frost had seen, even greater in size than the giant Jarg. It was maybe forty five feet, plus the horns. The armor he wore looked rusted and broken in some places. Blood was dried on several of his joints, but those were things weren't the most prominent of the giant. The giant had great chains wrapped around his arms and legs, chains as wide as frost torso. They hung on his chest Lin an X shape. And attached to the chains, great weights, as big as dogs dragged on the ground with each step. Frost knew who this was. "Krathisis." Frost whispered. His voice carried to the giant's ears because he looked directly at frost. "Who's....here?" The giant spoke, shaking the bones of the party. "...hello...Krathisis..." "Shade..." "Giant." "Pyg..." Frost felt left out of the exchange. "Uh.hello" his voice sounded like a squeak compared to the giants. "Hello...who are you...?" "My name is frost. And I'd like your help. "Why..." "Because the world shaker is coming and -" "I'll...do it." "Wait what?" "My...penance must be served for what I have done." "...what..." "I am... Serving my penance. I will help." Frost looked at pyg. "See? He doesn't need something to help." Pyg grumbled something but frost didn't care. He had a giant now. |

OOC: Sure here you go: Immediately after you left Xavier woke up from his beauty nap. His royal rudeness begins to rough up my friendly doctors who only wanted to help. So then my guards approach him. Then...BOOOM! Turns out he still has a lot of evil magicks from the Dark Arcanum. He grabs the youngest guard and proceeds to channel some bad mojo in his brain, killing him? Meanwhile it turns out that you were transported from the base on the supply rig, instead of the normal transport. Why you may ask? Because Vektor felt a presence approaching. A dark hooded man. Vektor, being weak and old, channels the last of his awesomeness to alkhemistry a bunch of freaking giant steel spears out of the walls. Unfortunately the hooded man, who is actually.......Halvedes Syncores, eats the spears with his hand. Then he uses the sample of ito that Vektor showed you to slowly disintegrate Vektor. He leaves across the facility to the medical bay, where Xavier is. There are alarms going off and every other staff member and patient has successfully exited the floating facility via ejecting rooms from the sky that float safely to the ground. Halvedes approaches the guards and removes his hood, revealing himself to be a tall clear-skinned man with energy flowing through his body. He calls himself Void and absorbs all the poor guards into him. He offers his hand to Xavier...(Xavier then went to a wedding or something) Meanwhile Nexhawk senses something is wrong with the book and suggests Xavier is the problem. Thanatos comes to a realization and orders his guards to bring the facility out of the sky. He and Nexhawk phoenix their way up there to stop whoever is up there and Alixenus has a plan that involves a river?
TL;DR -Xavier gone crazy and is fryin' brains - Halvedes is a possible demigod - As we speak Vektor is being disintegrated - Thanatos and Nexhawk go to save the day -Alixenus calls upon the help of the RIVERS? - Conyr is using LSD? |

OOC: Okay Than, thanks for providing my RDA of lols for today. No I'm not using the RIVERS themselves, I'm commandeering the Venezzian ships that will inenvitably be upon them. It pays to read my posts in detail. Sometimes. Okay maybe once in a while. ________________________________________________________________________________________________
The wind grew evermore fercious as the stormfront covered Karthage beneath a bank of steel clouds. Blossoms and leaves were being ripped from the trees, it would not be long before branches followed. The rain, continuing to pour in this maelstrom was practically falling sideways at such speeds that it stung the faces of all who were still outside. It was even worse for Alixenus, who was running as fast as he could in this weather. His broken rib still hadn't properly knitted, so his breathing was impaired. He dared not go at full speed lest he worsen the injury or be completely blinded by the rain, which was making the streets more slick by the minute. The sudden exertion was taking it's toll, each breath teared at his lungs like he'd inhaled a Goblin into each lung.
Tumbling down a particularly steep ramp, Alixenus struggled to his feet and was greeted by the sight of a small Quayside, thronged with small trading vessels. Happily for him, the majority were Venezzian. Further out, anchored in the middle of the River, was what he'd hoped would be down there: the Triremes which had been charged with guarding the merchantmen. At that moment oars sprang out on every deck as the crews hauled anchor and rowed to shore a little way down from the Quay. Groups of sailors then lept from each one and, rope in hand, hauled the Triremes to shore before the sunk by the storm.
Using what energy he had left, Alixenus ran up to the sailors, calling as he approached. "Ere, what do you want?" said a particularly burly specimen, not recognising one of the most famous men in the Republic due to his disheveled appearance. "I want...the Ballistas, from on...deck. Any Scorpios too. And you. And the ropes, all of them. The sailor laughed and looked at his friends before responding. "And why would we do that for some soggy princeling who got caught without his coat in a bit of rain?" Alixenus didn't have time for this. Fast as he could manage in his exhaustion, but far faster than the sailor could react apparently, he drew the cylindrical pressed-leather container of the Military diaries from his belt and struck the sailor in the head with it. Then he held the container so that the rest of the assembled crowd could see the Seal of the Republic upon the tube. "Because if you don't the Lord High Commander of Venezzia will see to it that you never, work, again!"
The sailors fell to one knee before Alixenus whilst the burly one, staggered from the blow, lost his footing on the sodden shore and fell in the undignified way possible. After spitting out as much beach as he could he looked up at Alixenus in the way a scolded child looks at their parent. "Very good my Lord, will have them off the ships as quickly as possible. Do you want the Marines trained how to use them aswell?" "Yes, rouse them from their bunks and once everything is assembled, follow me. We have a fortress to Harpoon." |

The Engineer found a small aircraft in a supply depot. It was an experimental model, by the looks of it, but it was compact, so it served its purpose. Galrick relocated the documents to a storage compartment on his back, then mounted the motorcycle-like craft and took off towards what he reckoned was the general direction of the expedition. Something troubled him. As he had sped away, he had seen what he identified as Vektor's vital signs suddenly disappear. The chief engineer of Diyad was dead, most likely killed. Thanatos had some bad news coming for him. |

[/quote] C'mon Thanatos, sarcasm is my job...
Yes, I am back, everyone! I was supposed to be back a week ago, but They cut my phone line, so my internet, and, yes, phone, went down for this past week.
Anyhoo, let us get writing on this gem of a story!
And as it was, Xavier watched blindly as the events unfolded so very swiftly before his very eyes. Xavier always had thought that Halvedes was a good man. A wise man, able to tell malevolent evil from the gracious good. Perhaps this is still so, but all along, he had been a truly despicable man. A man who did not care about others. A man who simply relished in the harm he inflicted in others. Those poor, poor people... If there was such thing as a soul, they could not go into an afterlife. It was sucked right out of them, such as the snuff from a Teddie Bear.
He seemed so happy. Almost glowing from the essence that he had stole. You would say every look about him showed malevolence, but that would be a falsification, for here was not look about him at all. He had lost all facial features during his transformation. It was smooth, and clear.
Xavier, oh, Xavier was different! While the demon before called the Void took the power from others, Xavier gave it. Xavier gave that young boy the power of magic. Infused it right into his mind, he did! Without being born adept, without the years of training! Yes, that boy who convulsed on the floor as we speak was absorbing the power given to him. May he do right with it.
Xavier looked at the faceless demon.
"Do that a few more times, and no-one will think highly of Fate. We are here to acknowledge her presence and tell people of the truth, not instil fear. That would play right into their hands."

Halvedes smirks, looking down at the energy flowing through him.
"Ah, but you do not understand. These men before you challenge Fate, she who is truth and good. But nay tis' not their fault. They are merely plagued by the corruption of the flesh. The Void frees them of this corruption. Look at the energy within me. Each individual strand is a life. I do not consume. I am their salvation, I cleanse them of their sins. They are not dead, but merely one with the Void, free of the harshness and cruelty of this physical world..."
There was no sarcasm here, lunacy perhaps? No, couldn't be. Everyone believes that their goals are righteous, even Halvedes. By him gaining the power he desires he could lead others into the truth of FATE... |

Fentix sat in his study with a scowl on his face and a migraine in his skull. The damn world is going insane the storm warden thought as a spike of pain shot through his mind again. Somewhere in the world some fools were meddling with powerful magic. And Fentix's sensitivity to such magics was giving him an angry disposition. Another spike of pain reminded Fentix that he still was angry as a knocking sounded at his door. "Fine, come in!" The oak door of the strange room. "Uh, sir warden?" "What!?" Fentix looked at the young storm man who was addressing him. The storm man was maybe twenty, or older, considering the powers they held slowed their age exponentially. "Tell me, how old are you?" "I'm sorry, but what sir?" "How old are you?" "Sir, do I really have to..." The storm mans voice trailed off as he saw the storm warden stare at him, mask less. "Twenty sir." "Thought so." Fentix turned and rested his head on his table. "Look around if you want. You've probably never seen one of these rooms." "No sir. But I have heard of them." "Special rifts and that bumpkis." "Bumpkis?" "Bumpkis." Fentix stood up and stretched, his migraine tearing at the back of his mind like a rapid animal with a lust for knowledge. "Sumbitch..." The storm warden grumbled angrily. "Sorry sir.?" "Nothing..." The storm man was silent for a few minutes. "Well? You came here to tell me something didn't you?" "Oh, yes. Sorry sir." "Well?" "Uh...the city is going to move, south. Draven is commissioning some storm men to guard the rear while we..." The young storm man went on and on. He was a long winded boy. "Please, be quiet." "Oh...sorry sir." "It's fine." "I'll just be leaving now. Sir." Fentix heard the strange door open. "Wait." "What sir?" Fentix walked over to the young storm man. "What's your name boy." "Gareth, sir." "Well, Gareth. Have a nice day. And tell Draven I'll be at the rear guard." "Um, thank you sir." The young storm man got ready to leave again. "By the way Gareth." The young one looked to his elder. "Yes." "Stop calling me a sir." "Yes sir. Uh. Sorry." "Now, get out of my room." The young storm man finally left, shutting the door behind him. "He's a good kid. Too bad the world he lives in is so harsh." Fentix walked around his room marveling at the rift he had created. It almost looked like it was from the old kingdom. Almost. But Fentix knew better. He knew it was just a fraud. Like any security in this land. A fraud. Of course the migraine he had was legitimate and real. So were his powers. And so was death. "I sound so grim. Like Aspherys. Oh well. As soon as the flux in magic changes I'm sure I'll be fine again." And with that the worst spike of pain hit Fentix like a lance of fire. |

"Maybe so, but the flesh is what makes us human. Not all are as fortunate or as holy and god-like as you, Void. You are a different being entirely. But humans; us humans are human, and forever will be human, even if we improve ourselves via magical means. But, being absorbed into you, becoming part of you, causes us to forfeit our humanity. At that, comrade, neither Fate or I will allow."
Xavier suddenly heard the shouts of guards running through the complex. Apparently they have heard the news of their fallen comrades. And the lucky one, the one who lies there in pain, for he will be better than before.

Sandromin was walking towards his ride to Arteum when he felt its presence. He knew not what it was, but felt something. Or, rather, something. Whatever it was, it was full of malicious intent. He had a feeling it was... empty, almost like a void. As quickly as he had begun to leave he was walking back. Sandromin knew very well what lie ahead, ahead and most likely he was to have another fateful encounter.
As he walked through the passages, he felt the presence, or the lack of it thereof, growing stronger. His eyes had picked up on this and changed accordingly. They grew a deeper shade of red, crimson as the first moon during an eclipse. Void. This word kept growing louder in his mind. It was almost as if his mind were chanting it. And then he saw it. A completely inhuman being to his eyes, he saw the Void.
Sandromin pulled his sword and focused radiant heat onto it. It was time to kill this unholy being; it had no right of being here and wreaking havoc.
Void.
"What are you?" Sandromin began.
Void.
"Well, whatever you are, you shall die here by my sword!" he exclaimed after the lack of response.
Argh, I can't stop this stupid word from repeating itself in my head. Void this, void that. My concentration is completely off. As if I can trade blows with this... thing. I need to hold back and wait until I see what this thing can do. Not only that, but if I charge right in, my lack of attentiveness will get me killed like those poor men, or at least their blood, on the floor. Void... hmph.
As the thing that used to be Halvedes came at him, Sandromin leapt back, dodging all his... arms?... proficiently. This was the first time he used his vision in combat, and it allowed him to interpret and counter his enemy accordingly. Still, Sandromin needed to clear his mind, or else his fate would be sealed.
As he dodged, he realized everything its arms touched were absorbed into it.
Ah, so that's what this blob does. I can't use a sword against this confounded being, so I'll have to observe its actions. In the meantime, I'll sheath my sword so as to not lose it. Void.......? Argh, this is ridiculous. |

In the land of the dead, a man stands in his field tilling the ground. A lone farmer. Only his family to keep him company. His field looks sparse compared to last year. The crops kept getting worse. These dead lands were worse off every season. But this was his choice, leaving the tent city to try and carve out a living. The farmer shook his head. How will he keep his family alive with these crops of dead vegetables. As he pondered his thoughts he heard a tiny voice that was sweet and innocent. Calling out to him. "Papa!" A little girl about the age of six jumped into the farmers arms laughing happily as the farmer raised her into the air and spun around laughing with her. He looked at his beautiful daughter, she looked so much like her mother. The farmer hugged his daughter and kissed her on her fore head. The little girl giggled. Saying her fathers beard tickled her face. He couldn't help but laugh. "Momma says it's dinner time." The farmer put his daughter down and followed her as she ran along holding his hand guiding him to the house he built alone. It was small, only two rooms, but it was his, and it was one of the few stationary houses left in these lands. He was proud of this place. His lands, his home, his family. As he walked inside he saw his wife standing at the kettle, the smell of leaks, potatoes and chicken wafted through the small home. The farmer commented on how wonderful the food smelled Ashe walked in and kissed his wife on her cheek. She thanked him and kissed him back like always. The farmer asked where his son was, the twelve year old boy ran into the kitchen talking about his day. He had seen some deer and a large flock of birds and many other animals native to these lands and he talked about so many other things. He talked about helping his father. The farmer listened to his son as the stew was passed to each family member. He listened to everyone, how their days were, how they had slept, every little brought a smile to his face as he listened to his family talk to each other. The love in the room kept his heart warm. He was as happy as he could be. Then a knock at the door. Heavy. Loud...angry... His wife excused herself and got up from the table, the farmer hadn't been expecting anyone, but maybe his wife had. He watched his wife open the door and his life cranked to a screeching halt. A feral stood at the door. A man that had been muscular in life. His wife could only scearm for a second before the beast tore into her shoulder, time stopped around the farmer his little girl and son screamed. The farmer rushed at the feral, grabbing a knife as he ran. The brought his fist down into the skull of the large feral, brown blood oozed out the wound and mixed with the crimson from his wife, he stabbed it again and again tearing into its brain with ferocity, until a mush was all that was left. The farmer grabbed his wife as she fell back, he could hear his children crying and screaming. He shouted for them to go up on the roof through the opening at the top of the ceiling. His youngest was crying uncontrollably and his son stood there with tears running down his cheeks as his mother bled on the floor. The wife clutched at the hold on her neck sobbing breathlessly. They all knew what had to be done. The farmer turned to his son and yelled, telling him to take his sister on the roof. The boy scrambled and lead his sister up the ladder through an opening in the ceiling and onto the roof. The farmer stared at his wife and cried. The woman he had loved for years laid dying in their home. She gained a moment of clarity and spoke to her husband. She loved him with all her heart, she said. The farmer couldn't help but cry as he ended her suffering. And the world was silent again. U til his children screamed louder than before. The farmer sprinted and hurled himself up the ladder. As he emerge on the roof, his heart skipped a beat. Thousands upon thousands upon thousands of ferals marched out of the city, of the forest out of nearly everywhere. The dead matched, an army of hunger and rage. But that wasn't what chilled the farmer the most. No, the sheer number alone would be enough to ruin any man. But, there was something far worse than that. Ferals that were...commanding... The others, like captains of an army they sat atop dead mounts and shouted words to the ferals. They were the riders of a new apocalypse. And new down fall of man. They were no longer "feral". These were abominations. And one of them looked up at the farmer. The skin on his head gone entirely, a cruel smile of a skull stared up at him and his children as he sat atop a dead horse that kicked at the ground. It roared with hellish delight as it pointed a sword at the cowering family and hundreds of ferals charged the house. It cackled.the home was invaded and feral after feral climbed the ladder. It's horrible laughter echoed everywhere as the children were rented from their father's grasp. As their young flesh was tore and their cries cut the night...the farmer held as long as he could, but he had nothing to live for and his fight ran out. The last thing the farmer heard before he was ripped limb from limb and devoured by the swarm was the dark cackle of the skull and the sickening squelch of meat and blood hitting the roof of his once proud home...
The skull rider sat atop his mount watching in glee. For the beast knew. This was the first of many families to torn asunder. Soon his legion would know the sweet taste of blood and meat. Soon then entire world, would know fear. Soon, the dead. Would. Rule. Soon. |

OOC: Every one of Brutus' posts makes me want to invade/save his land more and more! This impatience may cause me to sword an unecessary number of people in the name of expediency. Now, about my hairbrained scheme... |

OOC: Well, after hours of listening to Kingdom Hearts OST(in anticipation for KH3), Radioactive by Imagine Dragons(after the Sony E3 Press), and Sins of the Father(the original theme for MGSV), I have gained the inspiration to continue on!!!
Thanatos sprints with inhuman speed towards the clinic hoping not to miss his chance. He was known to be a man of many talents, however may of which were unknown. His movements and climbing to maximize efficiency and speed made one thing clear, he had been trained to move like this. It was a Venezzian practice(parkour if you don't mind Alixenus). However the closer they drew towards their goal, the more heavy and strained his movements got. As if threads were attempting to yank him back like a wooden marionette. Pain, intolerable pain, but he had to tolerate it. After grunt and a shake of his head he began to regain his grace and speed. His heart grew heavy. Shame, sadness, disappointment... these were emotions that flooded his mind. For a moment they disappeared, became alien to him, but they too returned. -------
Void agreed with the dwarf. it was almost time to go.Almost. However he could not take his mind off of what he had heard. He chuckled and murmured to himself:
"Soul is what makes you human, naive dwarf. Flesh?Hehe... merely the building block for organisms. All flesh comes from Dust. When one dies, does their flesh remains. Only the souls ascends to the heavens. To the living the flesh is but a memory of life, the soul is eternal..."
Would one wish to live, to remember forever, or rather to be remembered for living...forever? What does one remember? Their presence or their existence? The being or the Dust? |

Franklin led the two to a tavern deep within the Slums. A worn wooden sign read: Edmond's...The finest pub and eatery in the district! No one could argue that. However this was the only one in the district. From the corner of his eye he noted the peculiar look on Brutus' face. Sara was unfazed, having grown up around the tavern.
"I don't suppose you are in possession of a large amount of Diyadian currency, if at all." Brutus shakes his head. "No? Then this is where we dine."
Brutus was surprised however to find such a large building. actually large enough for him to enter. It had been a courthouse originally. Everything was tall, white and pristine. How ironic that it now fed, and occasionally housed, Gran Arcadia's scum. As Franklin entered with Sara at his side, angry and threatening glares were tossed in their direction. The sight sight of a giant however, extinguished these looks immediately. Franklin reached for a sack out of his overcoat. One could hear the jangling of coin, that sweet sweet sound. Ordinarily he'd have to snatch it away from amateur thieves, but this was a special occasion. He ordered the three soup, as it was the cheapest in large quantities. For him and Brutus he ordered ale. Sara laughed as a sack of coins was exchanged for two bowls and a whole barrel for Brutus. She could here the owner mutter something along the lines of "... that barrel was a decoration... but he gave me so much money..." After an hour of conversation and learning about each other, the trio exited the tavern only to find themselves surrounded, by a rather large group of Briggs. This would be a problem. Not their numbers, which Brutus found to be no threat, but their weapons. Rifles, big rifles that screamed magick, this would be a problem... |

Brutus looked around at the Briggs. Maybe twenty. Each one holding a rifle. Brutus hated rifles, he remembered breakers and lightning sticks.horrible, horrible inventions. The very fact that Brutus saw something even remotely similar... "Uh, Brutus?" The giant shook back into reality as he heard Franklin. What could be done? They were surrounded. And Sara looked terrified. She was clutched to Brutus' leg in fear. One of the Briggs got courageous and took a step toward Brutus. The giant made a short lunge at the Briggs who fell in suprise. The sound of clicks from the guns warned Brutus to calm down. He couldn't attack these people. They would kill Franklin and Sara. "Brutus gives up." Very single Brigg asked a simultaneous what along with Franklin and Sara. The captian stepped forward. "You...give up? The giant? The thing that could crush all of us? You give up?" The giant nodded. "Brutus gives up. Take Brutus to king with Franklin and Sara." The captain stared at the giant. "I'll ask again. What?" "Franklin and Sara under Brutus protection. Brutus under kings protection. You take Brutus to king." The Brigg looked at the giant. Was this a ruse? What was he to think. They had been chasing this thing across the city all day and now he had just given up. "We go yet? Brutus misses Alixenus, Thanatos, the fire men and Sandromin."
(Ooc) I'm starting to run low on ideas. Thanatos if you could think of something that would be great. (Ooc) |

OOC: I'm still here, watching the thread, although I couldn't really post anything due to a busy schedule though. Will try to respond to Thanatos' action soon enough; maybe even describe some event that is happening in Quarn after Fatoxum's immature death. //End of OOC\\ |
