Sandromin's plan seems the most feasible. I will go ahead with it, no more time can be wasted. There should still be some Privateers lying around the cost of the Logipriest nation. See if you can rope them in to help you. In the meantime I will muster my heavy infantry to bolster the guard around my compound and inform my tennants to cease their militia duties, to keep them out of any violence. Once this is done I will start drawing up a convincing plan to stop your 'pirates' for public presentation.
...
Excuse me gentlemen, I could've sworn I just heard the sound of a battering ram hitting my front door. |

As the battering ram thuds on your door, a cabinet opens up to a secret passageway! A sandman emerges and begins speaking!
"Come with me if you want to live," he says in a sort of hushed tone.
You follow him into an underground tunnel I had been working on the entire night and your militia is soon to follow. As the battering ram finally breaks down the door, we manage to disguise the the entryway; the enemy is baffled as to where you have gone. Discontent, they leave to search for you somewhere else.

As you can see, we have set this all up quite nicely. We don't want this merchant scum in power as much as you. |

As I deliver it to the town crier, I notice a heavy presence of guards towards the southern docks...
Do you know what this could possibly mean as far as their guard is concerned?
Also, we have set up a special guild of warriors known as the Diablans. They're yours as your personal guard, courtesy of me. I have had them trained in every combat technique of the sand, as well as common wrestling and royal swordplay. They also have adamantine weapons and armor. There are four of them; their names are Sha'lbek, Mor'taag, Velm, and Khartuum. Have them guard you at all times. |

Guards at the Southern dock is strange, it's in the centre of the city; only common goods pass through there. You may call me paranoid, but I believe our enemy is expecting a delivery at those docks. But if he's trying to disguise it as a normal shipment, why the guards? We can't intercept it, the waters around the city are too open, it could come in with any convoy at any time.
The only other explanations are that a crime occured or that is the escort of someone of import. Hm, but why the southern docks? |

I'm thinking a distraction. We're preparing observers on the Northern and Western Docks, as well as the central canal... I can also see crossed swords on a banner held by a guard... Could this mean anything of importance... wait... no, it can't be...
I'm going to have to deal with my own internal problems apparently. They've brought in a rival clansman, Urthag Armok, a revolutionary and tyrant... I thought we had taken care of him after the great exile, but it seems he has risen again... I'm going to have to deal with this with more focus... |

Not my subordinate. I exiled him to the desert, and now I have to eliminate him. If I do not, he will use his best powers to take over your nation. He was a tactical genius... I should have executed him when I had the chance. Biggest blunder of leading my nation is allowing him to win.
Also, you have most of that correct. However, the Golems have been *mostly* taken care of and the industrial barbarians are preoccupied with my forces to the western part of the deserts. However, your civil war occupies our utmost attention, as well as this rebel without a cause... Some people just want to watch the world burn. |

Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat. If he has not learnt that maxim during his time in the desert then he shall be defeated again. By us, together. My heavy infantry and the skirmishers attached to them have arrived to the fort along with their various camp followers. The cavalry is trying to leave but apparently there's some sort of paperwork issue. That's not a real concern. Besides, if fighting breaks out in the city streets Horses will likely be no more than a hazard.
Do you have any idea on how we can draw this Armok out of hiding? |

We won't have to. He's arrogant and cocky. He'll show up before long, probably with the favor of the people.
We must simply know where to look for him. He'll probably be managing the underground trade and a small troop of his for now. Know of any place in Venezzia where he can manage arms dealing on a small scale? He also has a fondness for elaborate escapes, so it must be a place with plenty of escape routes. |

Elaborate as in involving a machine designed by Sir Rube of Goldberg? Venezzia's a sprawl these days, there's any number of places... the old town tends to have allsorts of illegal running through it. He could slip away over the roofs, through an apartment block, over a canal gate before setting fire to it etc. The Marble market by the fair ground has the occaisional smuggler-hand off sort of thing. But he couldn't sell more than knives and Bolts like that. Still, he could blend into the crowd. Then there's the classic: The sewers. Well they're not really sewers, more a combination of sluice gates, maintenance tunnels and vaults. Dark, dank and prone to completely flooding at a moments notice. He would have to know it very well not to drown. |

"Alixenus, Sandromin! A message for both!"
A dwarf scout hands you two messages. One is addressed to Sandromin, and the other Alixenus.
[messagetoAlixenus]The pirate raids are going well, though I fear the people are starting to suffer. Have you walked through your own streets? Scouts tell me of children starving, Mothers crying, and lines of people trying to acquire a small, damp piece of bread. I shall stop when you command, for you are the sole leader in your 'quest'. I apologize, for I cannot be here. But I have you know, my troops stand at my borders, ready to attack when called for. I doubt in it's current state Venezzia can withstand a full-on foreign invasion. [/messagetoAlixenus]
[messagetoSandromin]I hope you are doing well, Sandromin. I hear strange rumors, rumors that Armok has returned? I have heard stories, but I would like to hear it from someone who has seen him himself, someone who knows for certain what he is capable of. If you do not mind, of course.[/messagetoSandromin]

I wake.
Lying there, facing the ceiling of my treehouse, listening to my own breathing, I recall my dream.
A dream of golems. A dream of me, as a golem.
Of me, being killed, as a golem.
Shakily, I stand and walk outside. Around the logipriest village, my friends, my subjects, also awake. They are also troubled.
They were plagued by the exact same dreams.
I realise that the excavation of the refrigerator of chocolate may have released more than just confectionary.
The death my own hands, no, my golem's hands, caused. I could feel the crunch of bones, hear screams of terror, smell the earthy scent of the tunnels.
This was not who we are. I look into the haunted gazes of my fellow logipriests and I know they are thinking the same thing.
A logipriest elder walked up to me.
"Sleep is the problem. We cannot sleep. Our spirits soar while we dream. This is the power of the logipriest. Now, however, some evil is tapping into this freedom. Twisting it."
He looked me in the eyes. His were bloodshot, I assumed mine were just as bad.
"We must not sleep."
And so we gathered all our comrades and cast the enchantment that would prevent us from accessing nature's most restorative, most pure, most relaxing remedy.
We did not know what we were deciding. We only knew that we had caused pain in sleep and thus could not sleep.
We did not know that our actions would lead to consequences much more dire than dream golems.
Logipriests become logizombies.
We are stronger, much more physically powerful. We are undead, unable to be killed. However, we lose all strengths of logipriests. Healing powers are gone. We cannot swim off our island.
Until the source of this disturbance, whatever it is that controls our spirits, is found and destroyed, we will remain as so.
And we will eventually learn how to swim.

*Tears up the letter from Vyzion Eyri* Are you Frakking kidding me!? This world is falling apart at the seams! *Yells in a futile rage at the sky before retreating to the command cabin for a few moments* You, Dwarf. Take this message back to your leader.
[Message reads] My Lord Hastings, Whilst I appreaciate your concern about the citizenry of Venezzia it is misplaced. The majority of the city's food is still produced by the farms on the mainland and a fair haul of fish can be gained from a the canals. If there are any mothers crying, it is because their brave little sailor has been lost in these raids. I am saddened by the fact that the common folk must die because of the evils of the nobility, but that is the way of the world. By now rationing should be coming into force in the city and the Merchants will likely be sweating as they see their coffers empty. In a desperate bid, I have no doubt that they will hire some corsairs of their own, or attempt to turn yours against you. Be on guard for when this happens. To allay your concerns about the people of Venezzia, I shall have my men inside the city depart the barracks to investigate.[Message ends] |

[Meanwhile in Pyerlanze square, the Town crier prepares to read the address given to him by the sandman] *Clears throat* O YAY! O YAY! O YAAAAAY! The following proclamation comes from Lord Lieutenant Alixenus of the Trade guild, to whom the people of the Bignorian wall are loyal liege-citizens. People of Venezzia! By now you will be aware of the hardships that our nation faces at sea. Pirates, with naught but a vile and malicious intent, have begun assaulting our fair ships as they chart a course across the seas. Some of you will have lost loved ones, others wll have noticed the emptying of the markets. But this shall go on no longer. I shall make it my sole endeavour to root out whosoever is responsible for these crimes and bring them to justice! They shall realise that to fight Venezzia is to face certain defeat, and that to harm it's people, is to doom yourself and your family for the next three generations!

The logipriest forest rings with the cries of wildlife.
Death cries.
Logizombies have acquired a taste for blood.
The winds of change blow from the mainland across into the forests, and on these winds we smell blood. Fresh meat. Delicious flesh.
We walk towards the mainland, so hungry and w- what the kitten! A logizombie stepped out of the forest and onto nothing and falls.
And falls.
And falls.
The cliff edge that the rest of the logizombies mill around must've been miles high. We could've even hear the splash our comrade made as he fell into the channel below. We did see, however, the red blood that stained the channel as whatever creatures below ate him.
There is no passage across. But the meat is on the other side. Racking our diseased and sleep deprived brains for a solution, we turn.
[OOC] could we name the channel the Niewz Channel? I just found it funny. For example: news at Niewz. Okay I have bad humour. But I like the name regardless. :D [/OOC]
The trees. We will build a bridge. Then we will reach the meat.
Fresh meat... |

[Message runs] My Lord, I have recieved word from my Cavaliers within the city. The people are fearful as expected but now they face starvation. Those in charge of the public granaries are refusing to release their contents to the people. Presumably Armok has a hand in this. It matters little, we shall turn this to our advantage. Your forces are to provide logistical and medical support to my men. We can't be viewed as a foreign invasion, this must be a 'clean fight' as it were. In two days time, my men will march into the city and with the people behind us, force the Grannaries to be opened.
This will lead to me being viewed as some sort of heroic figure. We will then proceed to occupy the 'House of the broken lance'. It is spacious and easily defensible with but a short distance to the Palazzo de Venezzia. This is the administrative heart of the city, where I will demand emergency executive powers. If the Doge refuses, I will lay siege until he submits. Your men will be billited in the forts, try to stay out of the public eye. If something is amiss, I will signal with one lon blast upon my horn.
May the winds be kind to your sails my Lord [Message ends] |

Battle of Venezzia.
Base terrain: Stone/Urban Modifier: Water. Multiple canals with sewers that have a high chance of flooding.
Enemy: Venezzian loyalists. Similar to my troops except these men spend most of their time on shore. As a result fire and water are reversed in their positions on strength and weakness. Modifier: Armok's presence gives a bonus to their attack power in open battle, whilst fighting for the council improves the soldier's morale.
Special: If worst comes to worst they can call up civilain militias loyal to them to screen the heavier troops, slow you down or assault your flanks and weakend units. Poorly armoured but well trained. The good news? Their loyalty is not completely certain so feel free to do a dice roll (if that's your thing) to determine how many you face.
There, you now have everything you need to run a battle for yourself as part of the civil war. |

We must find the Archnecromancer, Ignak the last of the Mor'tuums and the king of the Liches. Then can we stop the golem threat by either slaying him or laying him to peace. The Mor'tuums were the best warriors roughly 3000 years ago during the First Era, ca 1E 330. However, they died out as they began killing each other, thus creating the Badlands. Ignak, the last of the Mor'tuums, outlasted his brethren by killing them off. To stave off death, he used the collected souls of his brethren and used them in his Divine Metaphysics, in the process making himself a Lich. He is effectively the first to achieve this and is thus known as the king of the Liches.
That's most of what I have to say. Most of what we know is from mythology and ancient scrolls. |

*The mist lifts, his hands still clenched in a fist. Teeth grit, next twist, to look for who's coming next. But there's none left, all around I'm surrounded by death, save a Doge kneeling down in respect*
"Lord lieutenant, why have you done this thing and made war against your own people?" "I did this for the people, excellency, far more than you, the council or the merchants were willing to do." "What will you do with me now?" "Now? Now you ill order your men to stand down. Then you shall decide to retire from public life, as will the council"
*Before the Doge can answer a siege bolt flies through his head, sending him hurtling across the Palazzo de Venezzia. Alixenus turns to see who fired the shot. It was Armok, who casts down the siege bow and draws his weapon*
"Venezzia is mine you peasant!" "No, Venezzia is for Venezzians. As you will soon find out." "What? Are you going to kill me? Alone? The Doge's men still hold this square, the fact that you and your fellows got through to drag the Doge out is a testament to the incompetence of your people" "Yes, I am going to kill you"
*Alixenus draws his Hamaxe and starts walking toward Armok, but falls due to his injured leg. Armok laughs, but abruptly stops when Alixenus picks himself up and builds to an almighty charge toward him* |
