Brutus saw the book, that damned book. That what was tainting this place.but he wouldn't charge, no. That was expected. Brutus took off one of his gauntlets, a heavy thing of thirty pounds, and threw it with amazing force at the dwarf, but not at his body, at his hands,at the book. |

Sand.
Conyr was standing on the highest dune he could see, and that was all he could see.
Sand.
The weather was clear and calm, and for miles he could see the ocean of sand, unmoving, anticipating.
He trudged on, due east. His body's logipriest restorative bodies kept him from dying of hunger or thirst, but that didn't mean he couldn't feel it.
Soon, even the soft, fine sand between his toes lost its warm feeling, and was replaced by a gnawing hunger in his stomach. The worst thing, though, was the mind. It conjures up images of grand feasts, splendid banquets, your favourite childhood dessert, and this only compounded the emptiness inside of you. It masked the pain, though. Pain is in the mind.
Hunger, though, was replaced by the parched, sandpaper-like texture of his throat. Dehydration killed a man before the feeling of your body shrivelling up from lack of moisture destroyed your mind. Not so for logipriests. Their natural regeneration kept them alive and sane, but in constant agony.
Conyr knew his thirst would become agony if he didn't find water soon.
He marched on. Why did he march on? Conyr didn't know. To get away? From whom? Himself? That's not likely.
Conyr giggled, but his mouth could barely move. His mouth merely twisted into a grimace, and a dry, rasping sigh escaped from his lungs.
Conyr reached the top of another dune, and looked around. Nothing. He knew he was headed east, though. The sun guided him. He looked up to try find the sun... but it was gone.
What in the world?
There was a hole in the sky where the sun should be. Conyr squinted, rubbed his eyes, slapped himself, but the hole stayed there.
This was the madness, Conyr thought. The madness. Vyzion had told him about the logipriests who had not eaten or drank for years, and how their own powers turned against them. How it reshaped them, morphed them... into monsters. But surely it couldn't happen so soon? Conyr didn't even feel the pain yet. But the hole was growing. As Conyr watched, it grew, and grew, and suddenly he heard a wooshing sound, like the sound of an object falling.
Then all was black.
--
Hours later, Hakyi, an exiled sandman sand-surfing on his kalteraft, spotted a tiny patch of green with his hawk-like vision, and brought his craft around to investigate. He dug around the green and found a body of a logipriest, a young boy, covered in golden tattoos. Beside him lay a kalter seed, already sprouting. Hakyi was astounded. How did he survive a hit from a kalter seed? He checked the boy's head, and saw only a scar, miraculously healing even as he watched.
Shaking his head at the mysteries of the desert, he slung the boy over his shoulder and returned to his craft, swinging around and back home. |

Thantos's eyes glow with fury. His voice echos throughout Venezzia.
"THAT IS ENOUGH"
From his right side he grabs his mysterious sheathed weapon. It is long and reaches the floor. It looks like it should be carried with two hands. With ease he draws his weapon with one hand, a sword with a long blade(It is basically a katana that is longer than normal ones.). He runs his hand across the blade causing the it to glow. He dashes toward Xavier's position. He quickly turns around and strikes the gauntlet with his sword. The gauntlet is not damaged, but stopped mid air. The loud vibration rang throughout the Gallery like a church bell. Then it fell straight to the floor.
" I have had quite enough with this nonsense! Brutus I'd ask you to refrain from attacking other diplomats. I can fight my own battles. And you Xavier! I thought I made it very clear that I wanted to be your ally! Yet you continue to antagonize me! I distributed my knowledge and promised you much technology to further the development of your nation! Those were my dying orders! And this foolishness with your soldiers, I awoke weeks ago under the rubble of the Logipriest temple. There were neither corpses nor remnants. I can have my engineers confirm that the PAI's safety measures are all nonlethal. A shock from it couldn't kill a child let alone a dwarven soldier! I am trying to make peace with you! Do you not want that?"
OOC: By the way Xavier, this is just a claim your character is making about his men being dead right? I did say that the PAI only incapacitated them. Nonlethal... Also if everyone could bear with me. My grandma is in the hospital with cancer, and she could pass any day now. I've been in and out of the hospital and this is one of the only things cheering me up. So if I don't respond as quickly as before just give me some time please. |

Sandromin Hes wrote:
The Guild of Thought began the arduous process of creating the Grand Archives. They were creating and ultimate history of the lands, especially of Mediterra. They stumbled upon interesting facts, such as Venezzian ancestry in Diyad, the Doric colonization, the sandmen migration from Barbaria, and even the Tundran expedition.
However, the most interesting fact was of Doric history involving the Dark Arcaneum. The Doric people had received the book from an ancient temple of obsidian deep beneath the earth. They moved the book to their temple, and the process of their downfall began. Their people were forever stained with a madness of epic proportions; they had murdered each other in lust for the book. The previous Archnecromancer happened to be Doric.
This news was quite alarming, and the Guild of Thought sent a representative to the Council. Hopefully, they would make it in time.
Meanwhile, Sandromin proceeded to wonder what had occurred in the past hour. It seemed like a fog in his mind. However, that did not matter, and he arose to announce some very important news.
"So, it seems the deserts will now move forward at a greater pace due to the Doric city we have found! We declare the Guild of Thought a public guild! We shall be establishing guild houses throughout the lands. Knowledge shall be brought to all."
It seemed this would appease the peoples in the meantime and begin the move forward to a better world.
And even further on the side of these events, a young man by the name of Alihes had just finished his day's work. He had collected his gold coin for the day from his overseer in the market.
As he walked down the streets, he saw something. Just a glimpse. He decided to pursue it out of greater curiosity. He followed it down one corner, and then the next. Up an alley here, down a street there. He finally reached a dead end and found what he had been chasing: a stray cat.
But he knew it was more than that. Alas, there was nothing more he could do, so he turned around to leave. Just as he turned around there it was; he found what he was looking for. At first, he thought it was a person; then he realized it was glowing. Its shape was humanoid, but it was much more ethereal.
The being glowed with a golden hue and was obviously not of this world. Then it spoke. At first, as if it was a whisper, but the sound increased in volume.
"Hello. I am a remnant of a logipriest; in fact, several logipriests. I am much like the Collective in respect to their thinking."
Alihes was confused, and his face surely showed it.
"I see my words have little effect. What you do need to know is that I have chosen you through prophecy and foreseeing the future. I see you are the best to be chosen as my carrier. I will further explain while we are on our journey. As for now, I will move my consciousness into an item of personal value for you."
And with that, the ethereal being began fading. Actually, more like relocating. Its being moved to the coin in Alihes' pocket, and unbeknownst to him, the coin had adopted the logipriest symbol on it as the being moved into the coin.
As Alihes awoke the next day, he wondered about the gold coin. He dared not spend it on any goods from the market, and he still was confused at what the being said. The idea tugged at the back of his head. However, he shoved the thought back and began his job of unloading caravans.
Then, a new thought occurred: all these crates were light. Even the ones filled to the brim with iron and bronze bars! How could this be? Had he the strength of a titan? Alihes had no clue. He finished his work early that day, and collected two gold coins because he finished it so quickly.
Something was completely off, but he couldn't figure it out. So, he decided to make his way home. He began the trek, and fell into a trance. When he awoke from the trance, he realized he was jumping across the rooftops! Something was definitely wrong!
Then he heard it in his head:
Ah, now you see and realize it. You realize you have been imbued with the blessings of the logipriests. However, there is one thing we ask of you: bring us to our homeland.
OOC: Sad to hear that Thanatos. I'll include an interesting alternate storyline, as well as a few other things (such as being more active), jus' fo you. |

Brutus grunted, had he became so intent , so angry that he was striking out at mere men? His shame showed. The giant took his gauntlet and put it back on. Nothing he could say would redeem him from this. Brutus stayed silent and walked out the door to wait...
In the land claimed by the dead, a group of men sat around a fire. There were twelve of them, they were roughly six feet tall each, give or take a few inches. These men were diverse in their age, the oldest nearly sixty, the youngest looking seventeen. "Hey, Frost." It was the oldest, the wizened man was the leader of the group. He was speaking to the youngest, Adryan "frost". The seventeen year old looked up from his sword, his face was covered by a scarf and hood, only his eyes, his strange violet eyes showed distinctly. "Yes Drases?" The young one asked his leader of a year. He expected to be asked to fetch more ale for his comrades, seeing as he was new recruit to the rangers. The old man cleared his throat before speaking. "How many more shakers do we have? That last scuffle seemed to use a few of them." Frost wasn't sure how many of the small explosives were in stock, maybe thirty? So little considering they had brought nearly two hundred. "I'm not sure, sir." His answer was meek, and a few of his company chuckled at him, the more senior members just shook there heads. Drases among them. Frost looked down at his feet in shame. He felt some one pat his shoulder in reassurance. Cairn, he guessed, his childhood friend. Frost looked back up at the company, his closer comrades were smiling at him in reassurance. One of the company, Aegis a large muscled man, spoke up, "we have maybe forty or so left. I counted an hour ago." Drases nodded to his friend. "Thank you aegis, but I asked frost," Drases motioned to the young ranger. The company sat Looking at their young comrade. "Sorry sir." Frost felt the fool again, he couldn't seem to catch a break lately. The company began their usual talks of women, alcohol and fights, while frost sat silent honing his blade, it wasn't flashy, exotic or decorative, but it was his, and lately it was shedding more blood than any man should see in his life, but that's just how it worked here, you lived in fear of the dead, or you fought the dead while you lived. It was simple. It was brutal...it was all frost had ever known, all any of these men had ever know. They had heard the stories of the great city from their grandparents, who learned it from their parents, who had lived in the city. But these men here, all they knew were their shanty towns, their cities of tents, this was how they lived, in a defiant fear of the dead, the ferals. It's Drases has know, all Frost has know. This was life. And this sword In front of him, was what he would use to protect his life. Frost sighed. The moon was high in the night. A blue moon. Beautiful frost thought. If only we were there instead of here "If only..." He muttered to himself. "What was that Adryan?" Cairn spoke to him. He never called him Frost, Cairn always called him by his real name. "Nothing Cairn, just thinking." "Like always?" "Yeah, like always. Just hoping one day I'll be able to walk around without having to worry about some dead man ripping me to shreds." "Ahhhh, and so the happy Adryan speaks again. You truly are the joy of this group, you know that right." Cairn playfully punches his friend in the shoulder. "Cheer up, someday we'll take the city back. Then you can stop being so damn moody." Cairn was always able to cheer up Frost. Even when his parents disappeared, Cairn's family had taken him in, and his friend never left his side. Frost chuckled, he punched his friend back and was happy for a time...then their watcher shouted something they had all dreaded to hear. "FERAL'S!" Each man in the company snatched up their weapons, hammers axes, swords bows, thunder sticks each man readied themselves facing every direction, and kept their back to the fire. Frost's heart was pounding heavily in his chest, like a war drum, Cairn showed no sign of fear as he stood by his friend. Shouts could be heard around the group. Drases was giving orders to stay in formation, ready the shakers and stay calm. Frost could only Carry out the first two orders. His left hand tightened around the hilt of his sword, this right hand empty, a shield would just weigh him down, he preferred to have an open hand, made escapes easier. He was scanning the area around them, they had taken a hill as their camp that night. They had an elevated view of the valley below...them terror gripped his heart. He saw many dead in his time, but the beast before him in that valley was not a mere man. It was a giant. It stood haunches over, but he still reached eleven feet easily, the beast held a sapling in one hand, and jaw was exposed, a frothy, bloody mix of spit sat on its chest plate and mouth. It had chewed off its lips and a sneer could bee seen. But he worst of all, were the eyes...dead soulless eyes stared right at Frost "GIANT!" Frost shouted coarsely to his comrades. The three around him braced them selves. The beast let out a roar that chilled the men's bones...then silence. The world was still... Quiet. Eerie. The dead surrounded the hill. Staring. Frost was terrified. He hadn't seen this dead before. Then hell flowed forward. Frost and his allies struck out wildly at the dead. Bones broke and limbs flew. They we holding. Then another bellow. The giant was charging. Straight for Frost. Instinct took over and his sword stabbed upward. A sickening squelch sounded as the giants face split open and gore spilled out on the ground. Frost side stepped nearly lost his footing. His heart soared, but the night had only begun.

Nexhawk and Veneficus walked together to the Grand Hall of Spodium, when they spotted another phoenix hatchling flying towards them from the northwest. The bird bore a letter, which Nexhawk took without hesitation when the phoenix landed on his shoulder. He read:
There is a disturbance in the air, Nexhawk. I can't place its origin just yet, but we seem to be fairly close.
Ignatus
Nexhawk wrote with his quill on the back of the letter:
Ignatus,
Try to locate the source of the disturbances. If it is reachable for your crew, land and investigate the origin.
Keep me informed, Nexhawk
Veneficus scratched his head in confusion as Nexhawk finished the reply. "Do you know what this means?"
Nexhawk shook his head. "Not yet, Veneficus. We do not know much about these continents and have no idea about the artifacts located here and the such. We also know nothing about technological advances of the people who reside here, and what dangers they could possibly pose to us." He handed the letter to the young phoenix, who snatched it with his beak and flew off.
The two Ashborn continued walking. |

In the land of the dead, on a hill surrounded by the hungry dead, twelve men make their stand. Frost and Cairn stand with two other's from their company as wave after wave of the dead crash upon them. Ferix a man of about thirty stands by Frost's side. He talks to the young ranger between swings of his great sword. "These damned things, keep coming! Did the entire city clear just to take this hill?!"the man grunted as he heaved his sword from a long dead fellow ranger. Frost grunted "Ferix. Shut up." He drew his sword from another creature, he flinched his head as brown blood sprayed at him. Even considering the circumstance, Frost was starting to calm down.which terrified him more. Had he finally grown accustomed to killing that it actually calmed him down. Was he just some mindless killing machine now? Was he just some- "Adryan! Snap out of you you fool!" Cairns voice whipped Frost back into reality as another monster, a woman who he assumed had once been beautiful, but now her face was mostly gone. She had a beautiful bone structure- oh god, he thought that her bone structure was beautiful. Frost really had become crazy. He pondered his psychosis while he struck the woman down. The next hour was spent in relative silence, considering that screaming dead men ran up a hill to their second deaths at the hands of terrified men. Frost had gotten into an almost soothing rhythm of swing-stab-bash, and nearly forgot about the act he was committing. He was in the middle of his one hundredth stab when some on in the company shouted, "Some one get me some shakers!" Frost was on duty, he looked to Ferix, and cairn, they nodded positioned themselves accordingly to compensate for Frost. Frost ran to the fire and hurriedly searched his pack, he grabbed a hand full of the arrows. "Who needed shakers?!" Frost shouted over the din of the battle. "Here, Frost, Here!" It was Darvek, their archer. Frost hurried over to him and handed the exploding arrows to his friend. "Thanks Frost." Darvek losses an arrow at a crowd of the ferals' it struck one in the front of the group. The feral began to shake violently and it's chest burst into a bomb, shards of bone and meat exploded in all directions, killing a few of the ferals around him. Frost flinched at that, at least he was still squeamish, that was some comfort to him. "Frost we can't hold here much longer!" That was Tryg. Frost didn't care for him much, but he was right, he hurried to his allies. Cairn was in a struggle with a larger sized feral. Frost struck the beast with the hilt of his sword as he saw another feral explode in the corner of his eye. He noticed something, the ferals were starting to trickle in, not flooding. They were winning. Hours started to pass, they were getting tired. After five grueling hours, the feral's assault had ceased. The company cheered. "Everyone shout your name!" Drases shouted to his men. Frost and cairn shouted and they listened for names of their friends. They heard several but one was missing. Kantys. "Where's Kantys at?" Cairn shouted. Every one looked around, the young medic was missing, and blood covered it's mouth and hands. Frost looked around worriedly, Kantys was nearly as good a friend as Cairn. Frost listened for a minute, the he heard something that chilled him to the bone...the sound of chewing and a whimper. Frost jumped over a large group of bodies. And saw what he had feared. Kantys laid on the ground with a child feral digging into his stomach. Frost tried to shout. He began to back up but fell and tripped. The noise made the child look up at frost, it was missing an eye and half of his face was missing. It went back to it's meal after looking at frost for several seconds. Frost got back on his feet. He couldn't let this happen to his friend. He drew his sword, sound it in his hand. Snuck up on the feral...and did his duty. "F-f-f-frost... I hu-hurt."Kantys laid on the ground his innards were spread about. He was going to die, and he knew it. Frost kneeled down by his friend. "You'll be fine, we'll stitch you up an-" "Oh god..." Cairn stood looking at his two friends, he shouted for the company, only Cairn and Drases came to frost's side. "Sir, I'm gonna d-d-die." His breath was getting shallow and fast. "No, you'll be fine! You're not gonna die on me Kantys!" Tears were forming in frost eye's. Kantys was his friend, since child hood, he couldn't die he wouldn't die. "F-frost, t-t-tell my m-m-mother, I died, quickly." Frost was broken, he'd seen people die in front of him before, but never a friend. "Get m-my head out of the then...dirt." Frost lifted his friends head. "Take this to my, mom." Kantys handed Frost a coin for one of his pockets. Kantys looked at the moon, and asked a question, a simple, single question. "Why...must we...die, frost?"Kantys breathed one last time, and ceased. Kanty's hand fell. Frost's friend had died. But at least he wasn't alone when he passed. Cairn and Drases left Frost. He knew what he had to do, frost took the dagger that all rangers had, the one for when they died. It was thin, and sharp. Frost jammed the blade through his friends skull. Sadness couldn't express what frost felt he stood up, and went to grab the shovel they had in the camp. No one said any thing. They knew. Frost began his odious task.
(Ooc) I apologize for how gruesome this post is. Also Thanatos, I'm pained to hear that, the same thing happened in my life recently, and I hope that you feel better soon. I wish you condolence in your troubling times. (Ooc) |

OOC: My sincerest condolences, Thanatos.
The Collective ambassador received a transmission from the City. "We have advances to share with you. We have received a transmission from a previously unknown Doric ruin site. We have recently deciphered the blueprints and formulae contained in the message, and have begun upgrading our technology." it said matter-of-factly. |

OOC: Apologies for my unscheduled absence. I was kept away by computer issues and minor injuries. My deepest sympathies to Thanatos.
"I WILL HAVE ORDER IN THIS HALL!" Cried Alixenus belatedly. He drew his shortsword and smacked the Pommel upon the table with such force that the table Split. It took much for him to lost his temper in this, but to have the Collective's ambassador attempt to usurp his authority was the final straw. Not since the Logizombie attack had he been so emotionally volatile.
"This conference was organised in the name of peace and understanding, not so that you poor excuses for Statesmen could settle your personal grudges like some petty street group working through a two-scene tradgedy! Now I don't care who fried whose soldiers, or who stole what book, or threw gloves where! This ends now! Xavier, if you're men are truly dead, then produce credible evidence and swear before both men and Gods that it is real. If, we accept your evidence Thanatos will pay due compensation, say 10 Talents of Gold." Alixenus now turned to Brutus, sword still in hand, his countenance almost like that of a disappointed father. Meanwhile the court artist had practically thrown his previous work on the floor and starting sketching this new dramatic spectacle.
"Brutus, I swore help for your homeland and you shall have it. I can understand your boredom of my city, there aren't exactly any Giant sized attractions available. Now that this conference has come to an abrupt end we will depart soon." No one else dared to speak, or make any other noise. They all seemed frozen, entranced by the sheer Gravitas of Alixenus' rage. It was as if the Winged Lion itself, the Sigil of the city, was embodied in this man. Now he rounded on Thanatos and the sisters Fury and Strife were beside him as he addressed the dead man before him. "As my people fought and died to defend their city I never once saw a single Diyadian come to our aid. Search our Dungeons, check our prisoner roles. None of your men are here." Now he pointed his sword at Thanatos, the steel shimered in the early evening sun. "If your people are truly the prodigal spawn of Venezzia, then you will abandon this demand for my arrest. Under our laws colonial authorities do not supercede the City's. But if the Gods have so deluded you that you no abandon this path, then come and get me." More city and council guards were arriving, weapons at ready. Like the Hawk that hovers in the skies, waiting to strike, so too were they watching the diplomats.
All was silent save for the rustling of the Cypress trees in the wind. Xavier made the smallest movement behind Alixenus, perhaps he was straightening his robes. Whatever he did, it caused Alixenus' furious mind to realise something. Xavier has the Necronomicon. Alixenus now drew a dagger with his left and, keeping his sword towards Thanatos, spun and pressed keen edge against Xavier's throat. "You hold in your hands that cursed book, the book which has caused so much suffering already and will send many a nobleman to the underworld if it falls into the hands of the AN. You, sir, shall hand that book to Thanatos so that he may destroy it for the good of all."
OOC: Not sure why, but halfway through writing that I decided to give that post a Homeric spin. Not sure it worked. Thoughts everyone? Sorry for the long post, but it's been a while. |

OOC: Wow! Nice writing, Alixenus. BTW, I don't see why the Collective amby taking the floor without permission would warrant an accusation of usurping authority. Or was it simply the last straw? P.S: Sympathies for your minor injuries. Remember, it's only a flesh wound!
The Collective ambassador sat down, startled. It transmitted to the Hive Mind: ---START CONVERSATION--- >Why did you train me for diplomacy at the last moment? >Oh come on, man! We had this whole tech overhaul thing going over back here. >Foreign policy is important, you know. >Some ambassador you are. Aren't you supposed to be respectful? >A sharp tongue can sometimes be called for. >Oh, shut up. ---END CONVERSATION---
The ambassador slumped back in its chair. |

Sandromin had decided something of great importance at that moment. He realized tensions were rising, and everything was verging on war or conflict. So, Sandromin decided to do something never done before, not since the first Empire had spanned the entire continent.
"I declare my nation neutral in case of any conflict and shall now establish the Second Divine Order!"
Now, in case of lost records and archives, the First Divine Order was a group which had summoned the heroes of every great region and state and placed them into a single group. This group was responsible for exploring most of the lands in the world and creating the maps. They had vanquished many foes and destroyed thousands of enemies of the Empire.
However, they all met their end once they had traveled to the Tundra of Doomgoth. The Doomgothian people had completely annihilated the entire force of the Order. But this was not what Sandromin was aiming to achieve. No, rather, he was trying to achieve an entirely different objective.
"The Order shall meet a half a fortnight from today in the Guild of Thought's headquarters. Our first goal: to lead an expedition across the world to achieve several objectives, the primary of which is to destroy that dark and arcane book of the evil arts. We shall throw it into the Great Pit, where it is rumored to have been spit out from! We shall also assist the giants, find the logipriests, and make our way to Doria Prime, where we shall find the artifacts of the Doric people! As we have achieved this, we shall make our way back from our years long expedition to this place! Send your finest heroes, for we shall be doing the most dangerous of things."
As Alihes heard the voices, he then received a premonition from the sky. He heard the voice of the great clan leader, Sandromin, speaking. He heard of what he said, and then heard the objective of finding the logipriests.
This would be the best opportunity to help the logipriests, and thus, Alihes headed off to Arteum, to get into the Second Divine Order and help the ethereal logipriests.

OOC: Not sure why, but halfway through writing that I decided to give that post a Homeric spin. Not sure it worked. Thoughts everyone? Sorry for the long post, but it's been a while. The cold steel was protruding into Xavier's neck. How did it come to this? Friends, if you could call them friends, threatening to murder eachother? Threatening to kill eachother? What has the world become? That vial book, the twisted book, it would all end if it was destroyed....
No. Xavier's confidence will not be touched. The book was he and he the book. To let go of it now is to let go of humanity.
Xavier began to speak, not moving, for if he did, he would surly die from the strange ailment of decapitation.
"So, you know then? The book... my darling. You think it kills, but no, it saves. It saved me, Alixenus. Can you not see? See the light? The knowledge? No, you never will. You are too weak. Too inferior. At least I have something to fight for. What do you fight for, Alixenus?"
And having said that, Xavier's eyes dimmed, as if they have lost the life that was flowing in them. His body became relaxed, for his mind has finally broken.
Yes, broken! His mind has shattered. His mind has given in to the book.
Xavier tilts his head, and grabs the dagger.
His hand bleeds most furiously. The blood drips to the marble floors, painting them a new color, red. As he grabs it, he looks in Alixenus' eyes. He sees something there. Ambition. Anger. Rage. Hate. All of these were present in this man's eyes. Buy why? Why hate the book? The book gives peace, knowledge, and above all else, security. He finally whispers:
"If you want my darling, please, try to take it. It is the least you can do."
He rips the dagger out of his hands, turns around, and proceeds to walk to the exit, ignoring the numerous guards in the way.
[OOC]I may have said this before, but I am sorry for your loss, Thanatos.

OOC: It was a combination of the two Galrick as both I and Sandromin were meant to be the mediators for the conference. Now I shall attempt an entire post in the style of Homer. Brace yourselves for a dose of Classical litertature.
Alixenus son of Alisander looked on Sandromin, with confusion clouding his thoughts. His Knife never erred from Xavier's neck and nor did his sword falter from pointing at Thanatos. It was a masterwork of tempering and lightness from one of the first Steel smiths, Lysippio. Now the leader of the Venezzians, whose coffers were never empty, spoke to Sandromin tamer of Dunes.
"Has Delusion now gripped you as it has gripped Xavier? Do you not see Sandromin how my weapons are drawn and yours still sleep in their sheaths? Have you forgotten when you pledged to aid me in my mission to save this city from the clutches of the former Doge Petruccio and your foe Armok and that the Gods punish those who forsake oaths most harshly? Godlike Thanatos has never told us of this great pit to throw the book into and I wonder why he has not before now. But I also wonder how it can be that your Guild of thought already has a home for it's thinkers and Sophists when you only proposed your idea yesterday? Our current problems must be resolved before we can discuss the rest of you plans. Brave Xavier, myself and Thanatos stand on the edge of disaster. Will you not reconcile the three of us?"
Now like a Lion who has stolen a hunter's kill and will not be driven off by his spears and Dogs, so too did Alixenus refuse to back down in the face of Pink-eyed Thanatos and long-haired Xavier.
